After the different Wars of this Era were over, they entered a time of peace and the Senate disbanded the Republic Army. They had no proper military until the Clone Wars. They only had a small amount of soldiers that were not decked out for war, only for small skirmishes and essentially policing purposes

What's funny as hell is you brought up the "Why no Temple Guards? Why is the Jedi temple guarded by guys with blasters?" It's only after *this* specific event, the Jedi first established the Jedi Temple Guards. For *just this one event* the Jedi were forever scarred and traumatized, and realized they must be prepared in the future. They all thought the Sith were all gone, and the Sith pulled up and gave them the most smoke the Jedi have ever gotten, or would ever get again until *4000 years later* during Order 66 when Darth Vader and the 501st marched into the temple.

Malgus was already more powerful than his master. He was waiting for the right moment to show it.
Blocking the lightsaber was the same power Yoda used to catch lightning. Notice the lightsaber blade is cracking.

Exactly! And it’s also an extremely complicated move to do. Yoda was probably one of the only few left who knew that secret. Much like how Starkiller (ik not canon but the abilities are) channels all the force in his body and just before it hits critical mass he releases it vaporizing anyone around. Super risky and super difficult to do.
The power to move between bodies is called essence transfer. The emperors essence can actually possess multiple bodies at once. The one in the Sith Empire is known as The Emperor's Voice. The emperor abandoned his real body a thousand years prior to the games storyline. The Sith Emperor of SWTOR is the same one encountered by Revan in the KOTOR era.
Malgus was hiding his true power from his master. Once his master went down, he stopped holding back. Note how despite how much he was thrown around, he was completely unscathed in that first battle.
13:19 so despite being the rank of Jedi Battlemaster, kao cen darach likely would NOT have had much experience fighting sith in his day. At the time of the game's storyline start, the sith empire had been gone for about 300 years iirc.
Because Malgus's master was downed, Malgus was now free... which means he was fighting for himself... and so for his own independence to acquire any and all power he wanted he was going to win, no matter the cost, whatever it took.

This was the first time the sith were back in teh galaxy proper in 1000 years. The battlemaster never before had faced any sith. The jedi were used to fighting normal republic enemies like cartel criminals and the like. They were caught off guard by a legion of fully trained darkside warriors.
I could see a few dark Jedi being the occasional issue, but I agree that Sith weren't an issue (other than that period where you had 4 recurring wars caused by Darth Revan, Darth Malek, Kreia, Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus for like a decade) for a thousand years.
@@irishswag101 neither Revan or Malek where sith just fallen jedi, i can't remember if Kreia was actually trained as a sith or was a fallen jedi its been to long since i've play Kotor2, so really the Galaxy only had to face 2 sith during that 1000 years and even then through the majority of Kotor 2 the sith aren't openly known to the galaxy only to the group following Meetra Surik during her journey, so the Jedi are really not up to the task of fighting real sith at this time.

Great reactions! Okay, Satele wasn't there when Malgus sacked Coruscant because she was actually at the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, a cease fire arranged between the Empire and the Republic, which was taking place in a neutral location in space. Malgus attacked the Jedi Temple and held Coruscant hostage to force the Republic into much less favorable terms (ceding many Republic planets to the Empire) during negotiants.
Niko Orr (Kenny) is encountered in the Fallen Empire, Eternal Throne expansions.
The Mandalorian seen with Malgus in the sacking of Coruscant is Shea Vizla, someone you've already met, if you've played through the Shadow of Reven storyline (the one directly proceeding KotFE). You continue to work with her throughout the following expansions as well.
The short answer to why Malgus returns after being defeated (twice, actually) earlier in the game is: Sith Alchemy. Sa'har Kateen (the Twi'lek from the final cinematic), her brother, and Malgus all play large roles in the current expansion, Legacy of the Sith.
As to why this hasn't been made into a move (live action being the more cost effective adaptation) or a streaming series, your guess is as good as mine. People have been clamoring for a movie (previous to streaming services, folks petitioned HARD for an CGI movie) almost since the game's release in 2011. My own, personal speculation -- in the beginning it was because SW:ToR was the most expensive video game ever made for many years, and making a movie at the same technical level as the cinematics would have been extremely cost (and time) intensive (Blur Studios makes insanely good short form movie-lets, but it takes hella-cash, and several years for 4-10 minutes of content).
Now that Disney owns the Star Wars IP -- could they make a series set in the Old Republic? Heck yeah they could. But that would be delving into deep cut legends territory, something they've historically been unwilling to do (once previous SW lore was chucked, screaming, into the void). There were even plans around 2019 (according to KK) for adapting a live action movie (or series of movies) in this time period (moving it forward about two thousand years) --- such plans may or may not be kicking around in some fledgling screenwriter's ID10T drawer. But after how Solo was received, and with Disney+ hemorrhaging profit potential like gutted fish, *and* their theme parks no longer guaranteeing making up the difference -- wellllllll. We just don't know. I don't even think *they* know.

It’s really funny that during the fight between Ven Zallow and Malgus in the deceived trailer you say that Malgus planned everything out in the last few seconds of the fight cuz you’re absolutely right. Malgus knew he’d have to take a huge gamble against the battlemaster to claim victory so he purposely left an opening (the saber hilt to the face) knowing that this single moment would decide the course of the battle
Incorrect. He took no risk. Like he already had survived being burried under hundreds tons of rubble after taking thermite explosive to the face. So he knew that that smack from that prancing fairy wouldn't faze him and just to just ignore it, to stick that prancing,dancing moron on his blade. Ven Zallow was arrogant idiot who underestimated Malgus, and paid for that with his life and with failing to protect temple...

It sounds like you never got far enough into the game to recruit Niko Okarr the smuggler fron the 1st cinematic. You find him in a bar and have to create a drink for him.

Tbf, Malgus was actually HIM though. Dude took Korriban and then Sacked the Jedi Temple and wanted to do more but the Empire wanted him to slow his roll. Dude even went to war against the Sith Empire just because he knew he was HIM. Plus he had a Twi’lek lover and there is no man alive who isn’t down with that.
for the satele shan thing where she is blocking the lightsaber with the force we have actually seen that from vader in the kenobi show when he holds reva's lightsaber still when she tries to swing it at him and technically kylo has also done it so it's not really new but it just feels like it is
The technique called Tutunamis it allows the user to block energy with their hands even reflecting back to it to the opponent Vader did it when he blocked Han blaster fire in empire strike back, Yoda did it by blocking force lightning from Dooku and Sidious in the prequels. Kylo didn’t really do it more like holding the lightsaber in place he didn’t really touch it same with Vader did to reva they just holding lightsaber in place by the force.

The space cowboy is Nico Okarr, if I remember correctly he's a Subscriber reward, you could add him to your contacts & companions. Pretty sure there's another way to get him though, I haven't played SWTOR in years because I didn't like where it was going after KotET. Still got my characters at 306 item rating from back when that was max. Good times, though the golden age of SWTOR was really up until Shadow of Revan and Yavin-4.

in the novelization for the sacking of Coruscant, Malgus tells the battle master he kills, "It's all going to burn" before he dies. then Malgus gets mad when the bombing stops. lol, the dude got played by the sith emperor, the sacking of the capital was just a useful card to use to get better terms for the cease-fire talks. we want these systems, oh and we hold your capital hostage.
Likely him and his Master weren't super compatible fighting wise. They were getting in each other's way. Also Malgus is like 7' tall, utilizing a brutish style that is fairly unorthodox. Bad matchup, plus the BattleMaster likely relaxed too much thinking it's 1 on 1.

I'm reading the high Republic novels and it says there's been peace in the galaxy for some time and that the republic didn't have a army. They pull resources from other systems.
The trooper you’re talking about at 5:37 is Jace Malcolm. You see him at the end of either the Trooper or Jedi Knight storyline, i don’t remember which one though.
That's the magic of The Old Republic. Characters we don't care about, or ever see again, and a game that no one gave a fuck about apart from it's trailers.

Between the time of the game and the time of the prequal films era, there was an era called the Russan Reformation. Disney might have taken to calling the post Russan time period, The High Republic. Anyway, the republic demilitarized itself during this time so that by the time of the prequals there was no longer any republic wide military forces. This is why a brand new grand army of the republic had to be created from scratch.
Kao Cen used Trakata in the first cinematic. It's considered a dishonorable Saber technique used by the SITH. It's where you turn the Saber on and off during combat to deceive your enemy. You can spot that at 11:10. He turns the back Saber off, spins and switches it back on to stab the Sith Lord backward.
it is dishonorable in times of prequel Jedi's, who created tons of hypocritical nonsense. In Old Era it was normal move to use in combat.
The difference between sith and jedi is that sith were thrown to the wolves to survive and became stronger, while the jedi were nurtured living comfortably

First trailer: In my understanding - titles Darth appreciate Master etc do not reflect you "state" of power in the force just how high you get with that power but I think malgus with 2vs1 duel wanted this battle master to kill his master because maybe overtaking your master in with world is pretty common but direct murder with witnesses without trail or proper reason and his master (Darth Vindican btw.) needed to be removed for malgus to grow higher in hierarchy. This is shown in warrior and Inquisitor story line in this game. ✌️😊

Knights of the Old Republic Remake got cancelled cuz the parent studio found out the studio incharge was making way to many changes to the original and didn’t like the direction it was going.
Ironically enough if you play as a Jedi knight in the game in shadow of Revan at end becomes a Jedi battle master.
If Disney made this a movie they’d be admitting defeat. This is all EU content which they despise as it is not apart of their lore. If they turned it into a film they’d be accepting that the EU was always better.
simply put, jedi fight together as 1, so 2 jedi are always stronger than 1. sith on the other hand fight alone, having a master and apprentice fight together causes them to get in each others way. in addition to this the dark side feeds off emotion, so malgus got stronger and lost his handicap when his master was killed.

Well if coresaunt is the heart of the republic then Alderaan is soul of the republic so capturing it would demoralize the republic but if you ask me destroy it is waste the empire really screw themselves.

Getting rid of the military and moving the jedis focus away from being trained for war was the biggest mistake the Jedi and republic ever made

With the Clone Troopers they don't have choice weather or not a corrupt government is worthy to die defining in the first place, that loyalty programed into them, Unlike these old Republic 'Citizens' Troopers that have agency to join or not and a personal cause other than the state demeans it.

And as for malgus the Sith empress acina repaired him and enslaved him he broke free and betrayed the sith empire

And you are 100% right. THIS is what the movies should be like. But not live action. High end CGI like this all the way. They can do things that live action can't. The choreography alone can be done no where near this level with live action.
Sadly, it would never be cost prohibitive. These trailers cost millions a piece to make. And that's only for a few minutes. Imagine what a 2 hour movie would cost.
1 stop pausing/taking over characters. Watch once , and then if there are things to comment either say it, or watch again and then comment on specific moments. Because by speaking over what happens you are distracted with your things and miss stuff happening.
2 Less yelling. If you want answer to your questing just calmly ask people to clarify that thing for you in comments instead of '' Whaat? Whaat? Whaat?"

He already saw that Ven Zallow is an over-confidentprancing fairy who is already underestimating him. Malgus knew that Ven Zallow would go for a flashy big swing instead of ending fight with an effective quick cut, and he countered that shit. He basically allowed Ven Zallow to take Malgus's lightsaber balls deep in ;)
