I always enjoy SHA it's a perfect atmospheric come down after the first two frantic tunes, it's one of those close your eyes with good headphones and you feel like you're floating through space type of tunes.

It's a Rhodes keyboard and a lot of guitar effects. The next song in incredible and intense it was written for the last adaptation (that I Know of) of Romeo and Juliet but the band decided to put it on the album so they wrote another song for it a non-album track that's amazing called Talk Show host. I think the song did play for the closing credits. It's the Leonardo DiCaprio one. They were in an incredibly creative space for this record when you're done with the album i'm going to give you a list of the amazing songs they left off the album and some of them just didn't fit, it's not like they weren't good enough. We're going to start with Talk Show Host and then Pearly, Polyethylene, Man Of War, Lift, Palo Alto, Meeting In The Aisle and Lull. Radiohead has a shit ton of great non-album tracks because they are so anal about track placement and will often leave great songs off their albums. When and if you do their full catalog i'll give you a list of those kind of songs to react to. After this album if you decide to do their full catalog you have a choice to make, go back one record (this is their 3rd) and do the brilliant The Bends which is just great songs one after another but a bit less experimental. If you go forward you have the start of the real art-rock and experimental stuff, their genre blending is like no other band before them besides the Beatles.

t some point they released everything they're really good with that stuff, a lot like the Grateful Dead they let you record the concert you're at and during Covid they were releasing concerts from all time periods every week. They're very fan friendly but non-record company friendly.I guess you never heard about the release of my favotite Radiohead album In Rainbows, when their deal with Capitol was over they released the album as a pay what you want (to that point it had never been done before 2007) and they ended up making a lot more off that than they ever did when they were under contract. I'm sure a lot of people paid zero, which was an option, nut way more people actually paid decent money for it. Their history with their fans really reminds me of the Grateful Dead and their fans. They are fantastic live and if you just want to see something without reacting to it (although a lot of reactors did this one) try Paranoid Android live from Jules Holland they nail that intricate song perfectly.

One thing I forgot to mention is that Radiohead is the epitome of a "grower" type of band, not only does it often take multiple listens to digest but you also pick up a lot of details you missed on the first couple of listens. Many of my favorite songs from them were tunes I didn't really like that much on first listen but all of a sudden they have a tendency to "click", especially when you're listening to the entire album without pausing. Like bands like Pink Floyd they're big on the album as an art form as a whole, obviously meant to listen to in one sitting in it's entirety. You can tell i'm excited for you to explore Radiohead, at least you will give an honest assessment and I would say you're even a little picky, which is a good thing.
