Revit dirt + urbane pro mkii for onroad/light offroad or protectorvest for heavy offroad.
Ideal as rain/camp/hike jacket.
This has been the simple killer multifunctional combo last few years.
Nice. I need to buy a premium jacket especially moving into the ADV world this year.
Much appreciated!
🏍💨
One design key these jackets can take from the First Gear jacket is the taller collar. It keeps wind and rain from entering at the neck. This is something I look for in any new ADV jacket.
i like the MSR i just wish i could get int in a brighter color
Can you guys do a recommended video for more dualsport-enduro riders? Similar to rev-its' eclipse jacket line? Love my eclipse (3xl) but my chest and arms has gotten to large for it since I started building muscle.
great video. just got a vstrom and ready to get a jacket
Hey Guys,
You really should consider AFT Air Adventure Jacket by Modeka!
A serious 3 1/2 seasons Jacket; maybe it also works on hot days but I didnt test it jet - for everything else it is superb.
There is one trick it has: you can leave one inner Jacke inside but wear it only in the back, so, if it gets colder you can real quick take off the jacket and put it on regular
So you can switch real quick when weather conditions change and you dont have to worry zipping jackets in and out.
Seems to be little thing but for me it was a game changer.
The quality of the jacket is excellent!
What about Alpinestar Halo?
That’s the most versatile jacket I’ve ever seen or worn
What is best for Las Vegas desert?
Are you going to do a feature on dual sport jackets that don't contain built in armour?
MSR, huh? I’d rock that.
I tried to buy the MSR. but not available here in Canada
I ride adventure bikes at the top of the world in Scandinavia. It rains, snows & there are northwinds. My choice is Klim Carlsbad(spring/summer)& Badlands pro(autumn, winter) Not perfect but does a Good enough job.
Pros: Sizing( fits ‘viking sized’ pple well) various Colours, waterproofing, protection, plenty of pockets, kidney belt & plenty of vents for those rare sunny days, Cons: Zipps are reversed on the 2 jackets, Badlands Pro can feel bagy, stiff & heavy at times, zip on the lower arms openes under riding at times…Tried Rev It to small & tight, does not have option for ‘Viking sized’ persons
MSR all the way! Affordable, reliable and comfortable. Just got the voyager set and love it now I want the explorer set too. 😎👍
Right on! 🤘Glad to hear you're loving the gear.
@@rmatvmc I love it! Can’t beat the quality at that price. It’s the real deal 🤘
I wish more adv jackets came with the ability to have chest armor. I get that that's not a common area of impact on the street, but smacking your chest on the handlebars/GPS/windsreen/rocks/sticks is a pretty common thing off road. Wouldn't kill them to put a couple armor pockets in there.
Also, FYI, you can upgrade the XRD chest armor in the Badlands Pro to level 1 D3O
It would be great if we could actually buy some of this gear. I've been trying to buy the Xplorer Jacket and pants since June, 2XL jacket and XL pants.
The Xplorer gear sold out much faster than we thought, but we are hoping to have more here after the holidays. We're sorry you have to wait but trust us, it's worth it! If you click the "email when available" button on the product page, you'll be notified as soon as its back in stock. Thanks!
I have a Carlsbad jacket and pants for coming up two years and 20,000km but 1 year of that was in lockdown so realistically only 1 season of riding.
Performing well from the cold wer south in Tasmania to the steamy humid heat of far North Queensland but there annoying things like the reflective flashing is pealing off the jacket and there’s too much exposed hook n loop that snags other parts of the jacket so it’s looking a little frayed for a jacket that’s not too old.
you seriously didn't go riding because of Covid?
@@bk6271 restrictions in our state and state borders closed, you cannot go riding when roads and state borders are closed
Very good information👍👍👍
The Held Corese evo,is far superior jacket to these and cheaper except for the tour master they do make great value stuff. I use their electric vest under my Held.
Just my 2 cents worth,
Forget all of these weird-looking ones and try BMW’s collection. I am wearing the Enduroguard suit (unfortunately discontinued) right now while exploring the Big Bend. I also love the Ralley Pro suit by BMW, which I wore in the summer and did CA BDR.
Is it waterproof or do you need to banana man over the top suit?
Was wondering how the bmw gear you wore would handle hot weather ?
@@marklamb8219 I wore it for my two 10 day trips to Big Bend. I have no complains!
Made by HELD for BMW?
Why didn't REVIT Sand 4 make the list?
No revitt Tempest?
Did Battleborn become MSR?
No! The MSR gear is all new and completely different than the Batteborn.
@@rmatvmcwill the battleborn gear be coming back?
Would have been nice if you'd have included links to each spotlight in the description.
They are there now 👍
@@rmatvmc Thanks!
3:40 A Japanese bike rider helping Euro bike rider for some trouble :)
You ever heard of DIMEX motorcycle gear ,it's handmade in the UK ,could you review this brand .
The last KLIM suit is literally for some serious money-don’t-matter kind of guy 😂.
Also when you pay for over 1k$ suite you get into a level of branding already.
No aerostitch?
Question? Why would push dark colors. When the sun is out dark is NOT the way to go...
Would love to get the MSR stuff. Out of stock.
We are hoping to have it back in stock by the end of the year. It sold out much faster than we anticipated which is both good and bad! But trust us, it's worth the wait.
@@rmatvmc awesome! Thanks for the update!
Too bad there isn't a tall size in the MSR...
There are tall sizes in the pants!
Hi, what about Mosko moto?
They said they were only reviewing jackets with built in armor.
Why would they feature a jacket they do not sell?
no small available in top quality
Can you do a video about the women's gear?
no they should be cooking
@@bk6271😂😂😂
My 2021 Klim Carlsbad it has leaked water by zippers...
Great price on msr explorer gear??? You call 400 bucks a great price??
🤡🌎
Technicality? Is that the new Tactical? I think I can just recycle all my old "Yo Momma so Tactical...." jokes now!
please stop misusing the word “technicality”
All USA made edition? haha
Klim is soooo over priced. I don't care what anyone says it's not worth even half it's cost
Overpriced and ugly , I buy rev it gear but the sizing for rev it is all over the place.
I don’t have a dog in the fight as I don’t own Klim or any adventure gear but as someone who is looking at getting my first set of gear, I agree. There is zero chance Klim gear is worth 2-4 times the price of other brands. It to me also seems as a road block. When I first started to explore the idea of going adventure style after 2 decades of cruiser or sport, the only brands I could find were brands like Klim. Mostly cause they seem to have a very large influence. Places like UA-cam and Revzilla open up so many doors and options
@@CesarRamirez-cn5fw agreed. Rev it is good but its better to try it rather than following the sizing chart
Idk just asking. Did you price compare with other gore-tex products?
I felt that way too, and then I started using Klim gear now I have Baja s4 and the Badlands pro I don’t think I’ll ever wear them out. If I crash them Klim will replace it for life. Buy once cry once.
what do dakar riders wear? mostly alpinestar. why? because its great gear , and half the cost of way to expensive klim.
I wish someone made pants for short chubby guys. I can always get the waist right but pants are always huge in the legs and way to long.
