MAN did you "Van Winkle " at the light er what!?!?!
@@genehunsinger3981 reaction time only matter in heads up I've been practicing different launch rpms and boost levels so sometimes it takes a second or two
All Torino all the time! I love the sound of that engine. Bit by bit it's becoming the perfect car. Long live the Pontiac Turbo Firefly
My buddy pulled a 302 out if his 71 Torino GT and put in a 428 SCJ. Its wicked. I love the turbo 6.
Great stuff, that Torino looks and sounds awesome!
@@riogrande163 thanks there is way more to go
You will sort it, it’s an all new set up and now it’s about unlocking all its goodness and I’m sure it will become something pretty special once the ingredients are blended just right. As always love your work.😎
Hope so!
@@HotRodGuyGarage im from NZ and drive a xr6 ford falcon turbo. The new double overhead cam barra motor that ford turbo charged have been absolute weapons. Mine is 300kw from factory but apparently they can make a 1000hp before any major internal work needs doing. Maybe you could get some ideas from those aussie guys. They are doing amazing things.
Have you thought about putting a ford barra double overhead cam head on that 300 block? Could it be possible? Now theres an idea, but not many 300 engines over here. Mainly we have the 200 and 250 engines here.
It's Amazing That A 6 Can Get You down into The 8's 🤜🤯🤛What if you Turbo Charged A V 8 🤷
I'm, really in to the '70 Torino, 300 6 build. Im, sorry your having trouble. What's, been done to the cylinder head?
@@strokermaverick it's been ported extensively it flows on par with the promaxx CNC big valve head
I've had a couple of hopped up 300 sixers. I do know they had issues from the factory with heat soaking my 1979 f100 had a heat shield just under the fancy one-barrel carb and my 1989 f150 had a blower motor with tubing to "cool" the injectors. IMO the 300 was never really great at anything in particular. They are heavy they lack torque and hp and overall unremarkable, but they make a great woodchipper and industrial engines. Like the old saying there is no replacement for displacement.
I just done it for something different. If you dig around this playlist I pulled a fairly nasty 460 out of the car
@@HotRodGuyGarage I totally understand experimenting. They are fun to tinker with. I spent plenty of time looking over the Clifford/JC Whitney catalogs back in the day .
Youre grossly selling the 300 short.
The 300 was great at producing a flat torque curve, and was more adept at towing and hauling than a 302. A 3.98 stroke helps quite a bit.
You can increase top end power with basic bolt ons, and a turbo pretty much negates the cylinder head restriction.
No replacement for displacement really only applies to low end torque.
@@riogrande163 we are talking about 1/8 drag racing .
Transmission sounds like it's holding you back.
I'm getting around a 40% loss through the torque converter
@@HotRodGuyGarage Need a TCI!
I've sent some spec sheets out to a few custom converter builders
Found On Real Dragstrip! 😧😧😧
Yup
No power because it is a Ford! 😨😨😨
@@jeffgroves6280 or a converter that isn't floating around 40% slippage
