I'm so relieved that people are still appreciating classic SOAD. I actually fell in love with this band a before Toxicity came out & they def had a complete impact on my young life. I'm grateful for these dudes, too.
Fun fact about this song, the demo version used to have a much lower tempo but once they got in the studio with Rick Rubin to record, he said to Daron (the guitarist) that he plays like a bitch and so the result was that a lot of their music became faster and harsher sounding thereafter. I love these guys

Aye bro, I love the SOAD reaction videos. That was my favorite band back in Jr high and high school. I really appreciate that you are open to consuming music from a genre that is admittedly not for everyone. The world needs more positive, open minded people like you. Keep the SOAD reactions coming bruh!
Yo you gotta do Question! By SOAD too, it would be perfect for you imo. I know you really like when they change pace, and man that chorus picks up so perfectly and fuckin’ hits hard with meaning and power but still sounds beautiful
System of a Down is hands down my favorite band of all time! I have listened to every single one of their songs several times, and every single one is good. Their worst songs are still pretty damn good! All of their songs sound very different from each other, but also sound distinctly like System of a Down, I don't understand it. I recommend that you just listen to their entire discography, not even for this channel if you don't want to, but just for your own experience. That being said, I'd love to see you make reaction videos for the following SOAD songs. I-E-A-I-A-I-O, Deer Dance, F**k the System, Prison Song, Cigaro, This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm On This Song, Chic 'N' Stu, Soldier Side. At this point I'm just going to keep listing their songs until I run out of songs, but yeah, I'd love to see more reaction videos to SOAD!
Bruh, this is my genre and I love that the youth are learning about GenX music. I love your intuitive thinking about the Seattle Sounds. I hope you enjoy. Thanks, LaydBak. You keep us GenXers loving our music.
I adore your reactions! I click with the ways you click to the music. You describe the music as someone new to the scene perfectly with refreshing insight. You remind me why I love this music. You’re awesome
Thank you for reacting to this one. I still remember the first time I heard/saw this video... introduced me to SOaD back in '99/'00. Fell in love immediately! Their first album is still my favorite
Hello, I don't know if you will see this comment but I just appreciate how much of an open mind you have when listening to music like this. This is definitely one of their more abstract pieces, and I personally like it, but for you to really give everything a chance and take the time to enjoy different types of songs like this is why I love to watch this channel!
Generally System of a Down (SOAD for short) songs are very anti-war, anti-violence, anti-government, that kind of thing, and if you’re able to follow the lyrics you’ll usually find some kind of important message! Also yes please more SOAD. 😬
One thing I think you missed. At 3:45 in your video, when the cake flashes up on screen, the words flashing say "Aspartame kills" which is a common additive in a lot of sugary drinks as a cheap sugar substitute and is still used to this day. Nowadays, all of the scientific studies into the effects of Aspartame are conducted by research firms that are owned/controlled by the companies that are using this product in their food and drinks (looking at you coca-cola).
Dude, digging this soad grind. Been rocking em since high school. And yea it’s a lot to take in, its one of those bands where I’ll still get a different message from it every time. A good suggestion, go support your local punk or metal bands. See these shows live, get involved. You never know what kind of boundaries it will open up for you as an artist yourself. Look what it did for Rza. I heard dude was jamming to Sex Pistols. But keep it up dude 🤘🤘
Black Veil Brides- In The End is awesome. Its their solo youtube video from their FULL MUSIC MOVIE (similar to how pink floyd did The Wall) Wretched and Divine- The story of the Wild Ones
I have notifications set up and somehow never have seen your reactions to soad until tonight. Just the same, the vocalist is Serj Tankian. He did his own solo project a while back. His family survived the Turkish genocide and he puts earth and human messages in his music and it's amazing. A lot of his songs are driven by his family's past, as well as politically and with concerns for the earth. Certainly worth giving a thought toward a listen. 🤙
Hey LayedBak , can you react to Killswitch Engage "The End of Heartache" or "Break the Silence" if you haven't heard either before? I feel like you'd like those!
Im a big big fan of SOAD but this song pulls on my heart string! This song was always played in our clubs! We had half an hour of hard rock at the end of the night and they always played this song with songs from Tool, Slipknot, RATM, Marilyn Manson, Nirvana, Disturbed and so many more...
This has been my favourite song of theirs for many years already, even before I got into politics....It just made sense. I absolutely love your reaction btw
