Thanks mate. Source of dipstick and valves would be handy. Should also show sequence and torque for oil pan screws. Modern auto transmissions are high precision equipment comparable to top quality watches. Cleanness is of utmost importance to get trouble free use. Even single spec of dirt will ruin quality of use. Anyhow thanks for show, best of luck 👋
Along with the ease of service, you also get a much higher capacity to handle torque? Remind me why I should keep my 722.9 again?! It's still a nice gearbox....keep 'em comin' Kyle! I owe a large part of my Mercedes ownership to you & fcp!
You recommend using the CTA 7650 tool when you don't have a torque converter drain. If you do have a torque converter drain would it be overkill to both use the 7650 and drain the torque converter?
Not a bad idea, as the CTA tool will ensure that you're pushing old fluid through the valve body and additional capillaries! Just make sure you do the due diligence on your refill and "bleed" procedure by cycling gears, driving, and checking fluid level frequently as of course, you'll be completely draining the system.
Hi there Hi there i have a 2003 W211 E320 petrol. Its the one that has the trans cooler built in to the radiator. Unfortunately that failed and my coolant mixed both in the radiator and trans. My car doesnt have the torque converter drain and I dont have the tool you recommended Firstly how many flushes would you recommend for the transmission especially if i cant get the torque converter drained? Secondly would you recommend only installing the new transmission filter once I have flushed everything I wanted to order from FCP Euro as you literally have everything I need and I know its a guaranteed fit, but the shipping costs quite a bit more than my order because I am in South Africa
My indie told me the blue ATF MB uses in 722.9 is backwards compatible with 722.6 & runs cooler than the red 184. Isn't it recommended to swap out valve body pilot bushing whenever dropping the pan?
hi, I have a c140(CL420) does this has a torque converter, and how can i do this, is it possible that you can show it? Thank a lot and greetings from Holland.
Good evening dear members, I hope you are all well. I have a Mercedes Benz C180 KOMPRESSOR W203 2001/3 petrol with 96,000km and it is having a lot of fuel consumption and failure to idle, the diagnostics give the code P0301 and P0304 cylinder misfire detected and I want to change the ignition coil and the spark plugs, I am in an area where I will have to do things myself because I do not have a Mercedes agent etc. 1-I would like to know how many spark plugs my car takes so I can import them and how many ignition coils. 2- The spark plugs thread size M12 x 1.25 or M14 x 1.25, and if you think I need to lose anything else in this maintenance please do not hesitate to give me a tip. If you can recommend a website to buy the material and brands that have a long lifespan it would be a great help. Thank you in advance.
Hi, I have problem with ny 329 CDI 4 matic. When cold there is between 1200-1800 rpm like clutch engaging and disengaging feeling. After third gear it is ok. When engine and i think transmission is hot then gearbox is like 99% new. What could bw thw problem ?
how are you master, I have a Merceder w203 diesel c220 year 2006 Automatic when I start the car in the morning, it gives me a little knock in the gear light until it warms up, then it doesn't go on, what could be wrong
depend on how much you can drain out. There will always some old fluid inside the torque convertor. If you left it drain overnight, you could get a bit more out.
It's not a good idea to clean the interior of the pan with either cloth or paper towels. Residual fibers can cause transmission passageways to clog. Even checking the fuid via dipstick, Mercedes recommends using a leather cloth only. Better to clean the pan with a solvent like gasoline or alcohol then blow it dry never using any cloth at all.
Such detail but no detail on the proper fill level. You have to use the tool and it has to correspond with the trans temperature. You have a range of 10 mm on the dipstick in which the trans will be considered properly filled. EACH mm on the dipstick equates to only 1 oz so it is very easy to overfill the transmission. My transmission when hot is about 165 deg F so proper fill will be 65 mm on the dipstick tool with a range from 60 -70 mm . If you dump another 1/2 liter (16 oz) after that you are way overfilling.
Best tutorial in UA-cam! Very well explained step by step!
Thanks guys! Just changed my C32’s fluid and did the trans connector while i was at it, super easy maintenance for a super sedan
Amazing tutorial. Attention to details, well-explained, and very clear👏👏👏
This was so Good. So thorough... Beautiful teaching...

How far down do you push the dip stick? Literally all the way down until it doesn’t go anymore? Or when you feel resistance right before the bottom?
Hi Sonik, you feed the dipstick in until you feel it bottom out in the sump.
Wonderfully concise walkthrough with an exceptional host.. thanks champs ✨

Hi grate video would my 2014 Mrecedes-Benz glk350 4MATIC transmission be the same process?
Where the fluid level should be after going for a ride and running temperature ? Didn't mentioned Didn't show it on the dipstick? Great vid though!
The dipstick, like most, has a section that displays where proper fluid level should be. It's really not difficult

What country are you in and secondly you need to figure out which cylinder has the misfire ?
Will this drain the entire circuit, including the torque converter?
Was it liquimoly that was in it before the service?

Can you fill the auto trans on a 2011 w219 from the top as well?
Yes, the w219 is basically the same as a w221. Just slightly different body.

Why not pop the engine cover off so you can see what you’re doing when adding fluid? It takes like 10 seconds
Thank you

Hi hmax97! Check out our other video "How to Check Mercedes Automatic Transmission Fluid Level for 722.6" with Kyle if you're still uncertain!
did you know that you never put the bolt back in the transmission valve body
thone u took out for filter
I will tell Kyle, thank you.
Can I use the air pressure tool for my E300/2013 model

Why is he wearing a winter coat? Something tells me this video was recorded in February 2022
Or he's promoting their merch!
That doesn't matter. What matters is the good job he's teaching
Big fail, engine must be at idle to check gearbox oil level, all well done untill this point.
Listen. It is.
