    In my old W210 the transmission oil go thru the wires the control box and in the box has 1-1.5dl atf oil. No wonder the car was in limp mode :D

    Every 10kkm I do motor oil change and then I pump 4L out of the transmission and refill fresh 4L.
    After 3x the oil comes out pretty clean.
    And 4L Transmission Fluid is not really expensive.

      That is a great way to do it😁 Not a huge job to do but it can improve the lifetime of the gearbox considerably

    No modification to the mid plate? I drilled the port for the 3-4 shift larger to help it reduce the flare under load.

    I have a problem with my 722.6 gearbox. When the car is cold and i put it in gear it stomps hard, kind of like when your foot slips off the clutch pedal in a manual car. It can even almost stall sometimes if i dont let go of the brake pedal. When the car is warm there is no problem. Any ideas what the problem could be?

  • @atousonk

    thanks for the detailed instructions just a question . Have you used or know if someone used normal atf dex 2-3 will it trash the gearbox? i thought aswell to service it more often like 20-30k kilometer interval but the mercedes approved atf is crazy expensive if you want to do proper flush like you show. A friend who worked in lube shop said all atf is same and the mercedes test and approval is why the extra cost. What is your opinion on this as mercedes specialists?

    • @turbodieselbuilds

      Hmmm have not done any proper testing. But also seen some bad results with wrong oils, so been on safe side.

    • @forzer45
      @forzer45 2 місяці тому

      It probably won't trash it immidiately, but the Dexron grade slip and viscosity dynamics are different to those of MB 236.1x. I wouldn't use it.

    • @lucianbeilic4781
      @lucianbeilic4781 Місяць тому

      @@forzer45 I used Valvoline Dexron for 300 000 miles. I changed every 30-40k miles . I never changed properly, only drop the pan plus new filter. I sold the sprinter with 445k miles and the transmission was working properly.

      It's not necessary to use the Mercedes atf but is necessary to use a 236.14 atf (see the back size of the bottle) because if you use any dex ll or lll it will may not shifting normally for example as you are moving and stopping and moving again it may go to N by itself and you have to stop on the right side of the street switch it off and on again it can be dangerous so use only 236.14 atf.i have a CLK 208 kompressor and i have seen it happening.I mean your gear will still be on D but the car will not move as you push the accelerator.

    DO NOT USE BRAKE CLEAN FOR TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS. it will dry it up and make it rust. Use degreaser made specifically for motor and transmission components.
