Definitely. Other collections might have had more bang for your buck in terms of the total number of games but there are some cool extras in this one for sure.
There’s definitely some cool extra bits to this collection that haven’t really been a part of any other MG compilation before. We won’t know how good of a collection it is until we get our hands on it but so far I’m hopeful.
For that controller change thing during the Mantis fight, imagine that instead of the game asking you to change controller port or number, it swap the left and right pads and the R and L buttons around instead
I will be getting it eventually, but regarding the switch port and the Meryl codec, I’m going to get the original for my partner and son to experience it in its original form like I did as a kid
if you have the games preordered and want to look at the achievement thing, look them up on your library or set them as your favorite games on the showcase and then it will show up
I'm really interested in how they'll handle Vol. 2. While MGS 1-4 never made it to Steam, mostly every MGS fan who plays on PC will own MGS GZ/PP on the platform. I wonder if Vol. 2 will get a discount depending on if you already own these games. If yes, then hats of to Konami, wouldn't have expected that.
@@Freelancer837 I know that. You know that. But PS5's clock is usually synced to internet. I know you can MANUALLY change the time in settings but my concern would be the potential impact that could have on other features such as save file sync etc.
Itd be cool if on the switch version to beat psycho mantis you have to use the touch screen of the switch to beat him. Or you can only beat him in handheld mode. Or maybe thatd suck. Idk.
Question though; how will the controller switch be done in PC? I imagine the controller feature will carry over for those using one, but for M+KB users I wonder what the workaround is.
In the regular PC port, you had to switch to using the keyboard and mouse. Not really sure what you had to do if you were already playing with m&k.😂 There will probably be a menu you can use like on the console version.
That's good news, Japanese voices in the Master Collection. I rather work to get the Save Data for Snatcher and Policenauts. That is if Konami decides to bring these Titles to Modern Systems: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series and Switch. It's called the PS Button. (2:52)
I wish someone would answer the confusion with the Switch physical copy. I have heard none of the games are on the cartridges, and that it could be the same for the PS5 disc version. I have also heard that only the switch physical version is this way and not the PS5 version. I want to buy the game physical but whats the point if the game isn't on the actual disc or cart.
The physical Switch version definitely doesn’t have all the games on the cartridge. That’s been confirmed. As for the other platforms, we don’t really know yet unfortunately.
@@gnip3999when do you think will it be on +? About + can you for example choose a game that was shown in February as your October pick, or are the games locked to their months?

Have you tried going through the Master Collection official website? Maybe we’re not able to pre-order or purchase the PS4 version from the PlayStation store yet. Also, I’d imagine we swap discs using that same controller port switching menu but we’ll have to wait and see.
@@PerfectStealthi will check that out, i would definitely like to get as many metal gear platinums as possible 😊 hopefully ps store fixes it because i do want to get the preorder bonus songs too
Looking good so far! One thing I'm concerned about is how they are going to handle the pressure button actions for MGS2 and MGS3? PS5, Xbox and Switch do not use pressure buttons on their controllers, so functionality will be limited if they don't create good work arounds. MGS2 can play reasonably well without the pressure buttons but MGS3 is borderline unplayable.
They're using the same method of getting around the button sensitivity that they did on the 360 Version of The Older MGS Collection where they had simulated light presses or hard presses by toggling a button. It's not the same as if we had actual pressure sensitive buttons but it's a good compromise 🎮
They’ll probably use the same controller layout as the Xbox360 version of the HD Collection. If I remember correctly you could switch between a “soft” and “hard” press by clicking in the left stick.
For 360 u use left stick to just aim the weapon, moving or pushing the stick again stops aiming. for cqc u push Y or double click the left stick to slit throat.
I want those mock save files for the Psycho Mantis fight to be available *from the start,* _WHO KNOWS_ what tasks they will come up with to unlock them if they decide to go that route?! 🙄I'm not even gonna ask what's going on with the Switch version again, it seems I'm _never_ gonna get an answer and it's gonna be a waste of my money when I do pre-order it. 😞
@@PerfectStealth Are only the PS4, PS5, and all XBox releases getting the fixes, upgrades, and/or updates you mentioned in previous videos about the collection? I would get a PS4 (or PS5) just to have this awesome collection, but the prices, no thank you!!! (In this economy?! Heck no!!)
They can lock all those mock save states as reasons to play the game. We would have been purchasing those games anyway, and then playing them to create save states. That's resources spent.
If this were the way, I'd like to be able to choose which mock save state to unlock. So you can unlock them in order of preference. Alternatively, simply beat the game once and unlock the whole batch. That'd be fine, too.
They are the most powerful practitioner of psychokinesis and telepathy in the world. This is no game, Perfect Stealth - this is true power. Still don't believe them?
You can but that method requires at least one Game Over/Continue so it’s not exactly the best solution as the higher ranks are tied to having no continues.
Back when I was first played MGS1, I thought Psycho Mantis was spectacular both in presentation and as a boss fight. Nowadays I wish his poor boss fight never existed at all, as it's gimmick didn't aged well. And I'm talking from still experiencing the game on PS1 when you need to lift your butt do deal with it. GameCube players had it even worse.
This is exactly why I don't think this is a lazy port. I definitely was not expecting that level of preservation.
Definitely. Other collections might have had more bang for your buck in terms of the total number of games but there are some cool extras in this one for sure.
It’s not even lazy to begin with lmao
MGS1 getting these cool additions gives me hope for the collection as a whole. Still hoping for Portable Ops to arrive in Part 2.

I'm REALLY hoping for Portable Ops and MGS4 in Volume 2. Definitely the two most important games to be in that collection
I just want mgs4 I’d get the collection regardless of what games are in it if 4 is included but if it’s just 5 and survive I’ll be like wtf bro lol
Remember my old comment when I said MGS1 on the Master Collection will never be complete ?
Well It's complete now!!!
I love you KONAMI!!!!
The phrase “Konami cared about this port” was a sentence I never thought would leave my lips
Love this news. Now I can show my trophies/receipts of finishing all these games.
I really hope the switch ver. will have a trophy menu so I can get all the trophies for Snake eater again

yea , trophy hunters are realy cringe@@mr.awesome6011

Did we ever figure out pressure sensitive controls for switch?
I'm wondering how they will implement the "clock change" mechanic for The End boss fight...
By just reading your system's clock like all games that do that do. Which means it should be just as easy to fuddle with too
