  • I had a client who owns a sign making shop ask me to make them a rolling metal shop table they can use to cut and make all their signs on. They will be putting a plastic top on this and will mainly be used for light duty stuff. I actually ended up making two of these for them that could lock together and make one huge table. It is great with you have have something this big in your shop to work on.

Dear Jimbo, I see you from the south of Argentina (Rio Gallegos), I did not miss one of your chapters, I have learned a lot with you, since I am self-taught and passionate about blacksmithing and the team of tools to achieve a excellent completion of the project. unfortunately here we do not have that level of tools. My heartfelt thanks for the work you do. God bless you

Nice cart build. I've done dozens of carts and tables like this one, and the weak link always seems to be the casters, so I like to bolt them on, which makes them easier to replace. I just cut plates on the cnc plasma with the hole pattern of the caster. There are also pilot drill bits with countersinks built into them, which makes 1 less step when fastening the plywood down. Nice cart though, and nice craftsmanship. Thanks for the video!

I just built a very similar table. Awesome to have. Locking casters are not even necessary if it is as big and heavy as this one. It never has a reason to move on its own.

Nice build. I have a 3 foot x 5 foot version. I mounted the casters by welding the plates to the leg bottoms and then bolting the casters to pre drilled holes in the plates. felt it would be easier to replace a failed caster this way .

Hi Jim, I like your vids but do you think you could show more of the welding at actual speed instead of speeded up in your vids generally, I've seen your most recent vid 'Table Top Material Rests for Cut-Off Saw' & you showed quite a bit more in that one, I like that 👍 I'm a joiner & I do a bit of welding but still learning by trying to watch how the gun tip is moved & the speed of welding, I know this would add time as i make YT vids but for educational purposes i think that if the vid was a minute longer or what you have to cut out to make room would be a just sacrifice 👍 Thanks 👍

why do you weld the wheels on the plate ? they had holes so you just had to drill 4 holes and srew them together, if you need te replace a wheel it's gonna suck. Other than that nice build

when you have a welder, every problem is a weld. nuts and bolts, too slow. swapping wheels just takes a minute to grind off.
