    I see why folks want aJimbo fence and gate system. Excellent work. Nothing more satisfying than getting the super straight line of those spears.

    Hey jimbo, im a welder that works in heavy quipment parts, all duel shield flux core, ive been at this company for 6 years and everyone there tells me im a great welder, the problem being im a perfectionist and have low self estimate and mental health issues so some days i just pick apart all of my faults and feel like garbage, basicly my mind tells me "everything has to look perfect 100% perfect, all the time" but your videos always help me because unlike a lot of youtube you show honest welding, some things you do durring the process look rough, some things look off and you include when you need to fix something or make a mistake, and in the end with the right tools all your projects look amazing, it helps me remember that welding is a process and that not everything looks pretty out of the gate and that its normal in this industry to have to touch up and tamper until its right, nake a mistake, fix it, something not perfect, make it perfect, and looking at things with welders eyes we are seeing a ton more then the general public, and i need to get that through my head, so essentially if someone whos had the amount of experience you have welds and works like i do im probably better then my brain is tricking me into thinking, thank you for showing honest welding, for showing mistakes happen, it helps people who struggle to see themselves in a good light

    Incredible. You never shy away from doing all that repetitive work which takes a strong focus to complete successfully. As you say it takes a lot of thought and always thinking consistently.
    That to me is strong mental discipline. Thank you as ever for sharing all your projects.

    The only reason I can think of why the pickets are slightly out of line is that your 4inch (?) wooden spacers are not cut 100% square. A 32nd out would give a big difference when you get to the end of the line, and you possibly flipped them over between welding upper and lower sections

    JIMBO! Whats up buddy!? Hope all is well. Yea out of the 6 or 7 years ive been watching i think this is your largest project yet. I know you dont like these sort of projects but one every now and then, one helps keep you from getting lax from doing small projects regularly. Weld on Jimbo! As always i look forward to your next project 👍

    Last year I welded up a 13ft gate frame because my wooden gates would repeatedly get blown down. The gate failed during a wind storm with gusts over 60mph when the 4x6 pressure treated post exploded. Ive purchased a 1/4 in thick 4 inch square tube to replace it. I haven't had time to fix it yet.

    Another nicely done gate. I’d find the cost of materials alone to be cost prohibitive, let alone your labor charge!

    I'd say problem is with wooden spacers.Not exactly straight/square.I would go with metal ones.

    I just welded my lift off (bullet) hinges on both sides. No issues opening or closing what problem did you run into in the past?

    How come you don’t start the ballast from center?

  • @robroy5729
    @robroy5729 2 місяці тому

    the only issue working from one end to the other is as you tack/weld those pickets the frame of the panel begins to tighten up. i usually lay it out and weld the closest picket to center and then fill the rest in with much less distortion. great build by the way!!!

    A double punched rail would make this project time cut in half

  • @maggitmaster

    I place all my pickets in that way don't have to trim them down, and your rails will draw in less.
