Rescuing the animals is an incredible task and borderline thankless. These volunteers embody the best of humanity and selflessness. Can't imagine the resistance they put up with and early days and late nights in tough weather. They're part of the invisible force around the world who are able to convince governments and organizations to turn money directly into helping others simply because it's the right thing to do.

More than how they are treated, why are so many people incarcerated in The United States?
This is the bigger question that demands attention. Injustice, corruption, greed and social disarray all funneled thru the prism of money is a bad convergence. The destructive endpoint is disturbing and set to bring social upheaval not even America can handle.

So you hire an accountant to work at one of these prisons and the accountant has to go through the academy to learn how to fire a pistol at the firing range from a standing kneeling supine and running position then he has to learn to shoot a shotgun from the shoulder and the hip and qualify on the firing range and then a nurse and a doctor as well correct? I was in Dublin in California back in 2002, I don't remember that CO, and honestly it wasn't that bad at all. And a month after I arrived is when the Fed's took our personal room keys away. We had great food, great school programs, good mental health staff and doctors, plenty of yard time, and had 2 man cells at the main prison. It reminded me of college dorms, we even had tennis courts, and yes, we played tennis, hand ball, & we had a hugh weight area, and an even bigger gymnasium.
Then, I was transferred over too the open camp part of the prison. It sat right on the military base. And only after being in the main side for 4 months.
On the camp side, we had even more freedom and resources. We worked very close with the prison guards.
I worked at the base doing landscaping.
So for me seeing this video now in 2024, it's rather sad bc seeing how the system has crumbled severely since my stay, it just blows me away.
Ohh btw, I only did 2 years, and since my release, I haven't turned back. I promised myself that I would never spend another second inside of any prison walls. I never did any state time, thank God. But throughout my years I have been in country jails way too much.
As I said earlier, that's all far behind me now. A lesson learned fs, I pray for other's that they too will 'get it' and not go back in after their release.
    Blessings Beautiful Souls 👁️✨🕊️❤️

I am a 20 year school teacher. Thought about being a teacher in the prison system, as a way of contributing to society and facing a new challenge at the end of my career. The paperwork and difficulty of finding those jobs and figuring out the system and understanding information, made me give up. It is classic Federal red tape creating their own problems. They have unfilled positions (40% !!!) because people who value their time and money don't want to get involved.

For inmates doing non violent crimes and crimes committed that result in less than $10,000 they need to reduce sentences. The Liverpool experiment needs to be applied where drug addicts are given prescription drugs as long as they hold down a job and have productive lives. 75% percent of drug addicts outgrow their addiction in 5 years and of the remainder most are using street drugs to self medicate for pain.

Folks let's all be honest and candid, in this conversation. Please remember that some of these inmates are there trying to manipulate staff for favors. Although it is unconscionable and unlawful for staff members to take advantage of these inmates. Occasionally these inmates are trying to take advantage of a situation and put themselves in a situation where they're trying to manipulate guards. And remember guards are just human beings although it's not an excuse. Let's talk about the one woman that escaped, from one of the most intense segregated units on the face of the United States. We'll blame the guard. And she caught him into assisting her and her Escape. Does anyone believe that these women who are behind bars don't have the ability to manipulate a man. Answer me that question. So not all these women are being raped and abused, some of them are doing it in anticipation of special favors. Let's not lose sight of that fat.

Even if the woman are criminals it doesn't give men the "RIGHT" to rape them. Just like the 60 minutes lady said the officers, doctor, teacher,& the rest of the staff is there to do there jobs. Not to harm people. They are just as bad as the "criminals" some even worse!

They only seem to prioritise the extradition when it's politically expedient to them. For example a friend works with Bank of America and she tells me that people come from Africa and Eastern Europe and steal millions from usually elderly or vunerable people's life savings by manipulation and social engineering. And they are able to just leave the country when the heat comes on or they've had their fill with impunity, because the government doesn't view them as 'high enough of a priority' even though it's easy to know who they are and work out where they went. People commit suicide over losses like this, and the penalty should be proportionate

Hold on. I'm interested in this report and appalled, but... "whistle blower" Tess worked for 25 years, and just recently noticed something wrong? It is a little fishy. She may have an axe to grind.

These systems are designed to keep the offenders to carry on commiting crime . Wether in or out of prison they are condemned for ever. This is great for the system and partially for society. They generate capital! Provide Jobs and make authorities look nobel and Hero. In general it's the offenders who are the victim and doomed without real and humane organ to support to rehabilitate. Remember! Nothing bring wealth like crime. and those who benefit aren't in prisons.
