One of the Chaplins who has since had charges brought up against him used to walk me from one side of the prison to the other yard and less secure side of the prison. He confided poor behavior from others but never included his own behavior of sexually assaulting the women who were and are still incarcerated therein. He was too friendly to me wherein other guards were very nasty and intimidating to me. Simply put they did not want me in their space to see, hear or be witness to any of their horrific behavior. I am very relived there has been ongoing arrests and investigations. They all need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! Thank you for your coverage 60 minutes.

Super max in any prison is dangerous 🤞💪
Speaking from experience?
Supermax are actually the opposite. S.m. inmates are locked down much more than normal prisons therefore have less opportunity to be violent. Now when the inmates are out damn near all day??? Thats a tough joint💯
@firstlast8258 why does it matter any super max in any prison is dangerous 🤞

I served as a religious studies volunteer at IDOC Pocatello Idaho and FCI Dublin- Ca for seven years. I personally was not treated well by several of the guards and other Religious professionals within FCI Dublin. I came into their facility and space almost every Sunday and was always on high alert while there.

You have to wonder, were these enhanced torture techniques worth the self degradation from the so called good guys.

If someone doesn’t like these jails and prisons then don’t commit crime. I can’t believe there are people who feel sorry for these criminals.
Exactly. People in these comments are legit mental
My sister was murdered. The guy got away with it. Anyone who feels sorry for the criminals hasn't known anyone who was harmed by them. Once your life is ruined, you know first hand what brilliant monsters these people are. They could convince the pope they are so manipulative.
Check the exoneration rate. Many are innocent

I believe we need 8 levels and not 3. There are some who have earned the harshness and inhumane conditions but many are petty and shouldn't even be near those people.
I couldn’t agree MORE !!!! We are extremely soft on crime. That’s way it continues to happen ! If opening fire on children does t get you the death penalty- what does ???????,??,,,,,

It amazes me how criminals always seem to know their rights, but forget others rights while they’re committing crimes.
That’s pretty presumptuous of you thinking you know what every inmate has been arrested for. Show me your ways of reading every inmate record while watching this show.

Put yourself in prison

There's nothing fun about prison you gotta make ya way iydkydk
You supposed to be treated like a human in any case.
Scott Pelle was amazingly professional and compassionate. I have always thought that the 60 Minute reporters are non judgmental.
Richard Reed was escorted past airport security and escorted right to the plane by the FBI
Re: the last prisoner: it’s amazing how a little bit of charm and a sweet smile had reporters and guards falling all over him and believing his crap.
Are you referring to the man that was in Guantanamo prison? They found proof of everything he was saying to the reporter. Try paying attention.
Guantanamo should not be closed but rather open and take international citizenship from Angola, Malawi, South Africa, Zimbabwe Zambia
And Namibia and Swaziland training the international women's. Correctional services and offers of good salaries.

Hey...pay attention to my truth, please yall.....60% of inmates would NEVER offend if given the proper mental health treatment!!!!!! Sincerely. Step up......n stop sending millions to other countries when we need to help our own. Seriously
Our country (and many others) is ruled over by mega rich internationalists who are evil to the core and at this point even persecuting a former President. Nothing is going to change with prisons like nothing is going to change for homeless or struggling families, etc.

Even graduated lawyers are having a hard time finding work . Much less felons. Sad but true ! 😢
I feel bad for El Chapo, he is in Colorado SuperMax. He asked for a Bible and his request was denied. It's inhumane to leave a human in solitary confinement with no Bible.

I regret missing you Mr.Shumer of 60 minutes back in 2006 at Lompoc about the ADX prison.
While I’ll be careful not to judge. This was hard to watch. Prison is supposed to be punishment not inhumane. In these severe cases it was hard to tell the officers between the prisoners. Jail is supposed to be a deterrent to inappropriate behavior. Not a place to fix people’s problems.
Says who?
Well this way of thinking is why the US has a recidivism rate of 43% while countries like Norway, who do believe that prison is for rehabilitation, have a recidivism rate of 20%.
Put yourself in prison
Look up California's Prisneyland . I use to think the same thing but seeing that prison and what it's base on, it changed my mind.
It's supposed to be a place to rehabilitate prisoners, as 95% will be released.
