My son’s nickname in high school was McLovin and he hated that. Even though he’s been out of school for almost 4 years, every so often someone tells him he looks like him. A couple weeks ago someone approached him at the gas station, told him he looked like McLovin and then asked him why he quit acting. My son HATES this, but I’m not gonna lie: it’s hysterical!

This is probably the most HONEST thing ive ever seen. So many actors TRY and be EVERYTHING, and VERY FEW of them ever succeeded at it. If i was to get famous, i would want to get famous for BEING ME, the EASIEST job in the world. WHY have to constantly try and work to figure out a character or to "become" the character, when the character could JUST BE YOU? I think that when an actors plays a character that is at least in part just how they actually are, it makes the entire performance so much better.

I remember being 15 at my alcoholic fathers house, who happens to be a huge movie lover, and he owned Superbad but had never watched it, I said "dad you HAVE to watch this!" and he said "watch that? It looks stupid af. SUpErBad lol" and then I made him put it on and half way through the movie his roommate comes home and my dad screams "Dennis! Get the fuck in here and watch this with us! This movie is fucking awesome!" Lol. What an iconic film for its time ill always remember it👏

Yeah, 06 here. We were living the same house party lifestyle so it was crazy to have a movie come out that mimicked what we were doing. But they did such a good job with it, it wasn't corny (maybe some parts) and really captured high school youth at the time.

Most actors never get a truly iconic role. Peaking so early can be difficult but having accomplished such a feat also removes a lot of pressure in a way. Glad he's enjoying life and following his passions.

Honestly, being typecast as an actor sounds like an absolute dream. He's obviously a good actor, otherwise he wouldn't get any work. And he essentially does the same role for every movie. It's an easy paycheck, and based on the movies he's done, they're probably pretty damn big paychecks, too.
It was mclovins attitude in the film that got him loved by the streets. He was real underpressure, stayed himself, not sensitive, and put work in. That's solid conduct for a team member. And stayed on point with team while plugged in to the law in an unlawful way. He was sick.

I watched on a School Bus trip to NYC and like it was awkward for me so it kinda ruined it for me it just brought painful memories of my high school experience when I couldn't even get a date so I felt like Mclovin in the movie it's a good movie don't get me wrong I just was kinda treated bad at school so it reflected like you don't wanna be a Mclovin
It was the Animal House of its era, I think. In that AH was a cultural touchstone for older Gen X, Superbad was THE comedy film for mid-younger Millennials. Everybody of a certain age loved that movie.

Completely unphased by whatever Hollywood expectations were. He had a garage band with his friends, playing bad Sublime rip-off songs. And they were touring dive bars around the Central Coast. Which is seriously about the least "cool" thing someone could do for their image.
He's just exactly himself. Just having a good time and happy for everyone to do the same around him.

I got to meet Christopher Mintz Plasse about a year ago in Manchester, I had always been a fan of his and decided to fly in from Ireland when I knew I had the opportunity to get to talk to him. He was an absolute gentlemen and could not have been nicer. We talked for only about 15 minutes but it was so worth the trip. I talked to him about what kind of films and shows he enjoyed watching, who is big influences were and suprisingly they were the same as my own. If you ever get the chance to meet him... take it!
His career is a massive success. It’s like a musicians first single and becoming a massive hit and then they are able to go on working for decades even if they don’t have another massive hit.
I think he will continue to get roles with more diversity as time goes on, he is genuinely talented and he seems like a good person and that’s what really matters when being an actor getting consistent work.

I was alternatively a band geek, a computer dork, an english nerd, and finally a drug addict. I was definitely never a theater kid but I had close friends who were and they were all pretty nice to me. So I'm just thinking what would I think if one of those kids I knew went on to become internationally famous? I'd be fucking happy for them and proud as hell.

He's livin' a pretty damn good life imo. He's taken his opportunities where they've came up and he's doing well. To be able to have steady work in the entertainment industry and to last as long as he has without any major controversy or problems is something that a lot of people in his world strive for. Seems like a good dude that's not full of himself like other actors can be.
Met Chris when he was partying in my hometown, of Chico, CA, and looking at colleges (heard his cousin was attending our uni.) - this was right as Superbad was at it’s height of popularity.
I so happened to be at an ugly Christmas sweater party, next door to where he was partying.
It was a wild time.

I watch Superbad once a year. Always takes me back to the good old wild days. Such an iconic movie I hope continues to be timeless for generations to come.

This was a fun time. I was a freshman when Napoleon Dynamite came out and a senior when Superbad came out. These films were sooo huge and other than the Rogan "crew" most of the people in them are not big now. It just shows how a role can seem like the best thing ever, but can be too big especially early on that it makes work after almost impossible.
Dude. Voiceover is like, the best job in Hollywood. It’s often a “from home” gig now, because you can just use a spare bedroom and some simple gear (mic, class A converter interface and a computer of any kind) and a sound isolation thingy ( like a Kaotica Eyeball), and you’re gucci. You don’t get recognized everywhere. You get paid. It’s Hollywood/Acting version of the telecommute phenomenon that the world of employment has woken up to since the pandemic forced the issue. You know how people now WANT to work from home? That, but six or seven figures with a lot of down time.
And, if dude makes music? He likely already has all of those things and very high end versions of it.

Dude i think hes awesome. Hes got a formula that works really well and he stuck with it and it got him consistent work and hes always hillarious. Thats success in my book!

Chris went to detox in my city after a show one time. Days later I would be very drunk while meeting a guy at the bar that looked very similar to him. The man assured me that he gets it all the time but he, in fact, is not mclovin..
Now, had I been sober I would have believed him. But I was fucking hammered, so I was like "nice try dude!".. This patient and tolerable individual then just gave in and was like "alright you got me" and then answered my questions about how he wound up in detox and took a selfie with me.. the next day with sober eyes I could see that it was not in fact "mclovin".. props to that dude though.. he made drunk me's night.
