did you ever think about just wrapping the wires around the poles but none the less great setup...and ya up here in northern Minnesota things are freezing up nicely. Just seen a report for upper red that already has over 4 inches and a few guides will be letting people out after next weekend

No shacks are completely waterproof. It does a good job, we were out all day this past week in a 3-5 inch snow storm and it did just fine. Retains heat and everyone was dry. Heavy rain and I'm not too sure.

    • @JLewisFishing

Thanks for the lighting ideas. I've been trying to figure out how to make a cheap lighting situation for videoing during the nite-bite. I'd probably want to slap some velcro on the poles and the back of the lights because the wind in ND is going to make the tent and poles bang around too much to keep them tucked.

I have been using a double hub non insulated frabil for 7 years...its getting pretty worn out lol. "The perch church" tomorrow I'm ordering this thing. I went to a flip shanty 2 years ago for solo trips. Im gonna sell it. I'm already all set up for the otter and still used the church some the last 2 years. I've done everything your doing and it's the only way to fish. The load ability and transporting of that shanty plus gear with a quad or snowmobile is better in the truck and on and off the ice. I live in west Michigan btw. And will be heading north to the yoop around 🎄 and new years for a overnight on the ice..I hope lol.. should I keep the ole church and use it for a wheeler garage on the ice?
