Well Ive listened to arguably every Tarantino interview accessible online and this is easily one of the best. You could really hear him get more excited as the interview went on and he was thinking "Wow. These boys know their shit." SO nice to hear questions that dive in and go beyond the mundane. Wish it were several hours longer!

Interview was great. Absolutely loved it. And you revealed, you got Quentin to reveal how he filmed the Van Nuys Drive in sequence. I grew up down the street from the drive-in and it was the theater I went to in the 1960s and the 1970s. I love that theater and I'm watching the sequence and I'm thinking over and over again how could here film that they tore it down more than 25 years ago. And I thought about it forever and ever and could not figure it out. And you got him to reveal that he build a set of miniature that was fantastic.

Great interview. Quentin is a fascinating guy and IMHO in the top 10 list of the best film makers of all time, for sure. Some would say the top 5. I happen to love Sergio Leone's Once Upon A Time movies- both are classics. These are probably two of the best westerns (In The West) and gangster (In America) films made. Sergio is one of Quentin's favorite directors so he named a third Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Its a great film and vintage Quentin all the way. My fav Quentin Tarantino movies are 1. Pulp Fiction 2.Kill Bill 1 & 2 3. Reservoir Dogs 4Jackie Brown 5.Inglorious Bastards with Django Unchained very close behind. the some others are sort of tied. I think Quentin's most under-rated film has to be The Hateful Eight. First off, this a beautifully shot film shot in 70 mm. As many know, Quentin does not film or work with digital, only celluloid and very minimal CGI of any kind. For different scene types or scenarios he will use 8mm, 16mm, 35 mm, 70mm. He is one of the very few that only shoot using those mag reels. Oh yeah, the intro to Resevoir Dogs is still my fav scene in the whole film. I met Michael Madsen once at the Toronto Film Festivall (TIFF) and I could do Lawrence Tierney's voice calling him Mr. Blonde, he thought it was hilarious, funny guy.

At first I came out of the theatre still trying to figure out what I had seen. When I gave it more thought, I came up with a couple theories. I think the movie is about redemption, it reflects humanity's imperfections, we create our own stories, that no matter what happens, everything is going to be OK.. The redemption comes from Brad's character and his past mistake, it is through him saving life even though he took one in his past.. Still thinking about the film. I think it deserves more than one watch to really gauge all it's meaning. The film was also beautifully shot, a great visual homage to LA. I think I really like this one.

If Tarantino is gonna do only one more film, Star Trek is an idea I dislike very much. I'm much more excited in him doing completely new stuff from his brain. I'd love to see him working on genres he's never worked before, like doing an ancient period piece, or horro film, working with great actors he's never worked with. Also I think Tarantino should keep making films, I think he might age well in his craft, like Scorsese has.
