  • I've truly enjoyed using the Maxpedition Mongo as an EDC. The key to any Every Day Carry is the bag, and this one is a great one. With perfect features and flexible layout, the Mongo comes with my greatest recommendation.

Just found your channel and have to say I really like your take on things. I watch way to many videos on gear and survival skill and appreciate your sense of humor and honest approach. I actually just got a Mongo for a vehicle kit bag and it is working very well. Keep up the awesome videos!

Awesome! Thanks for coming aboard...I try to keep things interesting and funny when I can. I'll tell ya...I make fun of myself constantly because this stuff is actually kind of comical...especially to outsiders who don't really understand it. I'm trying to find ways to do reviews that are somewhat different from what's already out there. It's hard because there are so many great channels, but I'm working hard and trying lots of different things all the time. Glad your enjoying it, and I'll do my best to keep it up! Enjoy the Mongo, it's really great.

My Friend, I've been busting brain cells trying to get good information on the Mongo and you answered every question and more "Perfectly" ; ) This was excellent and I applaud you and your skills. Your video focus was spot on as well as your flow of information with out going long winded. It's obvious that you rehearsed and do high quality work. I work in central Africa and have been looking for the right kit to answer all my needs and now you have helped me more than any other source.
Most of my kit is "Maxpedition" already and now I'm getting another fantastic addition because of you. Thank You!
Big Cheers and Happy Trails to you sir.

Hey Mark...thanks so much for your comments. You know, it's not always easy for me to get a flow on a video...and I'm glad you see that I try. I think it's very important to get good perspective and a descriptive discussion, yet at the same time not being too overly gabby.
Honestly, I don't rehearse at all...never have for any videos...and I don't even write notes down to keep me on target. But, what I do instead is hundreds of hours of research. I research products from most major brands that fit the genre that I enjoy...I watch thousands of other videos, and I know almost all the products out there, so by the time I review a bag, I've watched all the videos and read all the reviews for myself.
Then I get the product, put it into use, and carry it for a while before I review it. Sometimes I will do a "first impressions" video, but the ones that come out the best are the ones that are developed after I have carried a product.
You will LOVE the Mongo. I did eventually sell mine, but it truly was the best shoulder bag I have owned...and by a significant margin. The most important question now...what color are you going to get???

My Friend, Your video is "Perfect"! Brilliant, Informative, well rehearsed and with excellent video and audio. Great job. I currently have the smaller versipack and it worked great for me in central Africa, but I should have had this one.
I'm ordering it this one right now based on your excellent video that covers all my concerns.
I will also subscribe and look forward to your next video. Good Luck in the future my friend and thank you for showing common sense and clarity. Happy Holidays and Happy Trails.

Awesome!!! I'm glad you're aboard!! Thanks, I'm glad it worked out well for you....I try very hard to be informative and provide useful information. It's based generally upon what works for me...and if there are good aspects I'll tell ya...if there are bad aspects, you better know about it if you're serious about buying gear. This is a popular video of mine...many people have liked it. It's been a great ride, and I've enjoyed the youtube experience...meeting great people and all the feedback and comments! So, thanks again, and I'll see you soon!

Thanks...yeah, I LOVE the Mongo. I sold mine a while back, but I do miss it. The layout is PERFECT if you like a shoulder bag. I sold it when I got a backpack, but ironically now I use a shoulder bag again and want my MONGO BACK!!! If you get one, let me know how you like it.

Personally, this bag sort of torments me. I like to be low key and currently need a small bag, but if I needed to carry a lot of stuff, it's hard to resist getting a bag this size and setup the way it is. This would have been great for all those years I took classes or went to friend's homes or conventions and engaged in role playing sessions. And for books and notepads it's perfect, yet allows for a few emergency items.
Great review by the way. You keep the viewer interested.

Thanks! Yeah, the bag is a tad large for certain things, but overall it is a great carry. One of my all-time favorite and best shoulder bag I've had. It definitely would be great for school or courses and of course carrying a laptop or tablet.

I'm looking for the pocket organizer that you pull out at 4:25 in your video.
I love this bag but use a lot of small items such as the ones you have in this removable sleeve.
Can't seem to find it on the Maxpedition webpage anywhere.
Since this video is only a year and a half old I would it should still be available.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately that organizer was discontinued before I even shot that video. I looked and looked for a long time to find that organizer and eventually came across it on eBay. I forget what it's called, but I have commented on it before if you review the comments you might find what the name is. Every now and then I see one for sale on eBay. Good luck!

That is the Maxpedition Triad Admin Pouch...use the link below for Maxpedition website.
I really like that pouch...good for a multi tool, flashlight, small cell phone. It's awkward for a full size smart phone.

Not terrible. I betcha is over 10 lbs though! Doesn't bother me, cause I generally carry my bag from home to car, car to office, and leave it beside me. If I had to carry it far distances I wouldn't get a shoulder bag.
