I love my murse. i still use my Jumbo versapack to this day. man bags are the only gear I don't mind looking tactical. they also make for absolutely awesome diaper bags for us Dads who carry baby stuff when mom isn't around. over the years I have learned I must have a storm shield on my man bag!
I like that it is not overtly tactical, while still having molly and handgun accommodations. This would fit in pretty good at a shooting match or in an office.
I wish the CCW compartment was reversed, or they offered a mirrored version. It makes WAY more sense to grab the tab with the two button snaps with your left hand and be able to rip it out and to the left, allowing you to already have your right hand ready to reach in and grab the firearm, rather than having to wait for you to use the same hand to first open up the compartment. If you keep both zippers in the corner where the buttons are, yanking that will unzip it at the same time, if you haven't figured that out.
Would’ve been better if it was ambidextrous from the getgo so you don’t have to worry about wether or not to get the bag for left or right handed usage.
Your review was very nicely done. Well filmed, edited and so on, but I still am not exactly sure what or how this bag is meant to be used anymore than their other bags. I was reading the comments/reviews on Amazon and it seems as if people use them mostly to carry the usual stuff, or they use it as a camera bag, diaper bag, gym bag and so on. This is cool, very high tech looking, but for now I am leaning towards one of the older models like the Thermite or Fatboy. Even with you guys doing reviews, it's very hard to compare and sort them out.
I just ordered 6 different bags to see which one I like for EDC. the zippers on this one and the veldspar seem very tight and are not easy to operate. I love the fit and finish and all the pockets. I can fit a 40 oz. Thermoflask in the bottle holder pocket, but it's very tight to get it in. My question is, do the zippers and water bottle pocket loosen up at all over time? Did you use any zipper lube? Thanks in advance and very good video! Drew
I think these new bags look interesting, but ergonomics aside, I prefer the squared off designs because it's easier to visualize what, how much and where the contents can and will go and how it all gets organized. I am good at packing, but I don't want to feel like I am playing with a puzzle. I want quick and easy location, removal and replacement of gear. Good review despite my feelings about the product. If I may aded, I also now think that they messed up on the Thermite. The concealment pocket is too high relative to the main pocket, the opening too small and those dual mag pouches are too obvious as to the real use for wearing it. It's pushing me towards the belt pouches or larger to the Fatboy or Jumbo which don't advertise the gun carrying aspect.
The Veldspar sits between the Wolfspur and the Thermite. Great EDC bag but not big enough to hold a tablet or full sized pad of paper - which is what I got a Wolfspur for.
bulltastik if you mean webbing then yes but MOLLE is a standard it really a thing. MOLLE can be made from everything but I have another of their bags and it has the same lattice and I love it
For Off-Body Carry it depends on what you do & where you work. It can work in something like a gym. Also if you wanna carry a pistol at work but don’t want anyone finding out, off body carry is a good choice. Off body carry does have its pros & cons just like with on body carry to.
Maxpedition done jumped the shark... Slingpack, slingpack oh wait another slingpack and whats that? thats right you guessed it slingpack... Cuz Man purse for hipsters thats why...
I had a previous version of this Advanced gear Research sling that the top pouch had the soft touch rubber material and while sitting in the coolest for a few years it became super sticky and unusable. I contacted Maxpedition customer service about this issue, I got a reply basically said the issue is wear and tear, while I like Maxpedition and collected many bags from them I found this unacceptable. The bag sits in the closet for a few years is considered wear and tear, not material issue? This is suppose to be a rugged bag that can take the environment. I was expecting that your team admits the material selection issue and if I send back the barely used (maybe one time) and I get a replacement or repair unit with a cloth pouch. Instead I was told that this is wear and tear and is user issue. Very disappointed with how this issue is handled. Please remove the “advanced” from the AGR, because the name is not suitable for the bag
So all of that power to create new materials as you say and all you use that pocket for is napkins? Come on man, use that pocket for something worthy of that power.
good review, but I've never been a fan of these sling bags. They basically scream out that you're a concealed carrier and since there's only one strap, it's not as stable as a regular backpack if you need to bugout or hike a long distance.
i used to carry a cotton bandana in my backpocket here in ATL during the summer to wipe sweat off my face. i can't tell you how many times cops stopped me and thought i was a Blood.
Maxpedition gear is o.k., a little overpriced for what it is but their customer service is pathetically nonexistent. I had the primary 2" buckle break on a sitka gearslinger and have been waiting since July for a replacement all while they keep producing and selling them. My last email attempt 2 weeks ago netted zero response. I'm not looking for a freebie, they don't have the part and won't return emails. No more maxpedition gear for me.
At minute 2:50 you speak of this futuristic material exclusive for maxpedition, "stuff that doesnt exist yet". If any of you search for "Amazon basic cube organizer" you'll see this kind of material. It is not futuristic, it is not new. It is not even exclusive. I made a trip overseas a decade ago and I was already using the cube organizers. Nothing against your review, thanks for your time and effort, but do more research and be more objective for you give a terrible impression. Cheers.

I don't CC but I think the CCW zipper should open in the opposite direction it would make it easier to drew you gun.
Gave up backpack due to getting a heart pacemaker recently. A bag like this which rests on my right shoulder is something that would work for me.
Excellent review!!! Probably one of the best I have seen on youtube!! Looks like an very capable bag with many capabilities!!!

Looks like a great bag. I'm a sucker for a good bag.
Maxpedition keeps coming out with cool stuff for sure. Great review!
Basically a newer and improved version of their Colossus bag. Nice evolution.
Hey LBS! How do you think it compares to the Jumbo versipack?
Nice review style, your setup was a good example of the features. wish Maxpedition would make a brown or blue version. Love the brown.
I agree I was hoping this bag would come in blue & other colors to make look less tactical looking.
Their new line seems more durable, looks good
How does this compare with the fatboy versipack? Size, weight etc? I'm thinking of replacing my old but dependable versipack.
I really want it but I already have a good urban sling pack. I like them for how easy it to access your stuff.
Thanks a lot for the very comprehensive review. I think I'm going to pick one of these up as a camera bag. Looks really handy.
I was hoping there would be adjustable velcro mag pouches so that you can have the option to carry spare ammo if you choose to.
Seems nice as explained. I have The Fatboy which is a bit more compact.
Dude, I like this bag.
Which would you prefer Shane, the Wolfspur or the Vanquest Mobius 2.0 ?

YKK Zippers from what I’ve heard are self lubercating
will your stuff be protected from an EMP ?
Can it be worn on the left side also?
How does it compare in size to the veldspar?
What is the size difference between this bag and maxpedition fatboy jumbo?
Do you think that a full side notebook fit in the iPad pocket?
No, it is about 8.5Wx10H
Is it one sided only? Can it be reversed for a lefty?
I know this comment is 3 years later, but check the Maxpedition website to see if they offer it for left handed people.
That's the bag from the store opening right? It's meaty. I like it.
One and the same.
An Obvious Question:. Is there a way to stow the strap ears when not using them? They are a floppy eyesore.
great review, EXPENSIVE Manbag, but I like it, I may put it on my list.
would you say you could run with this bag with out it swing all around and up and down and what not .
It has a hip strap for that

@TLBS Still use or like something better these days? Vanquist 2.0 is nice
I'm currently using the Vanquest Katara-16 backpack.
I've never seen so many men excited about a purse before. Go figure.
Moonbase Alpha lol
Thanks for a great review! I NOW... "Need" one (sometimes I hate you lol)!
They are 180.00 now!
seatbelt actually shreds really easily
Great review
Great motorcycle bag.
love this bag but for us lefties.... is there an option?
Blacklist vanquest mobius 2.0 is your friend
I hate that it says "Wolf Spur"
That's belligerent
Great job
Is that lattice system as durable as molle?
bulltastik if you mean webbing then yes but MOLLE is a standard it really a thing. MOLLE can be made from everything but I have another of their bags and it has the same lattice and I love it
Yes, its also thinner and a little more rigid. Stays close to the pack.
Good review
Great review man!
very nice bro!
Could this hold a laptop
Only if it's as small as an iPad.
The Late Boy Scout ok thanks, I’m thinking about going with the skyvale, since it’s larger
how much was the bag
Gary Nolen maxpedition site lists it at $152.99
This is like a manly purse.
IPad super expensive and super breakable but one at your own risk buyer beware
If you’re going to carry a gun, carry it on your person. That pocket is good for a back up only.

Gabriel Chiang but better!
i love your video
Thumbs up button hit
Not sure why these bags cost so much my 25 dollar sog ninja is holding up very well

Christopher Walken there is a waist strap too. Just as secure with that on properly.
tactical diaper bag
groinspasm I agree! But there's nothing wrong with that
Dooneegomaface Ifinnaspring

looks like a failed atempt at a better moab6, they should ditch the mickey mouse ears.
Too big.
They make them smaller

FFS - just get a backpack. Call it a waste strap...
Great review
