- This was the day I first revealed to everyone that I had bought a Dax Cobra. I went to Goodwood for the Saywell International track day in the rain with my girlfriend, and surprised a bunch of other friends at the event. I then got the chance to join the supercar parade around the track. What a way to spend my first full day with my Cobra!

I think the real winner is the fact your girlfriend was smiling and happy while getting soaked in the pissing rain and not once complained. That is a rare find!

For those wondering, yes it's got a soft-top roof. I'm just too British to put it up.

That is literally one of the most awesome cars on the planet..Mr Shelby left his mark on the world and with a car like the 427 Cobra, he nailed it!
It's an ENGLISH car that Shelby modified by adding big American engines.
He realised that Americans can't design cars, and that European sports cars were designed and built for speed.
Legend has it that the 70 mph speed limit on British roads was introduced BECAUSE of the AC COBRA.
The design hasn't changed in 70 years, which in itself is amazing.
Can't really improve on perfection, eh.......

Love that you’re ok using it in the wet.. I am far to precious with my RS or TVRs before. If it even looks like rain...it stays in the garage!
You need some waterproofs mate if you're gonna keep driving it in the rain. Well done on getting the car by the way. It's also my alltime fave after watching Gumball Rally when I was a kid in 1976 (I'm 52 now) still haven't realised my dream of building/owning one, something to do with marriage, kids & life getting the way. Enjoy it!!

Why was there a Shmee in the video? I understand that he was there as well, but why was he looking at your car specifically?
I was going to change the rev, but my GoPro kept corrupting the files that I'd recorded for that, so it'll have to stay as the TVR for now.

Tip for you, by some screen x isopropanol, polish your windscreen inside and out, makes life easier, i use it on my westfield, no roof or doors is a ball ache when it rains

been round goodwood a few times Granted it was in the learner minis but was quite fun getting a instructor that didnt really care what happend :D Love the cobra keep the dreams going also didnt know how close you are to goodwood

All these butthurt yanks arguing about authenticity. It isn't exactly a Chinese Lamborghini, it is a well built homage to an amazing and otherwise unaffordable classic. Next time you put an "unauthentic engine" in a British kit car think about how hypocritical you sound. Great car Adam.

It's just misery driving around in the rain without the hood, BUT, it's so loud inside with it on you won't be able to do any filming :-). Hopefully we will meet up at one of the meets Adam and play top trumps :-)

My brother in law built a Cobra replica car when he was 21, great sounding engine and was great to ride in, still love them ... did you build yours?. He has had a lot of cars since but his latest project is a Ferrari Dino

In your video you say the Ford engine was unreliable, so you got the Chevy engine. Which Ford engine are you saying was untrustworthy, the 427/428, 351, or 302, or something else? I'm curious because these engines were all known as dependable, here in the states. If it's the 351, is it the Windsor version? I've heard about it having some reliability issues when I was a child. Some hotrodders, in the 1990s, have merged the 351 Cleveland and Windsor. giving the dependability of the Cleveland and power of the Windsor making the 351 Clindsor.
I'm unsure ,could it do with a exhaust or is it how it comes across on camera?

The camera doesn't pick up the sound well at all, as it's a very bassy sound. It's louder in person.

450HP in a Cobra has a power to weight ratio great enough to smoke every car I saw in the video,no exceptions. Your Cobra needs to snack on a few of them sometime soon then post again
