I am old and I own 880 plus CD's and that was one of the reasons I bought my 2006 LS 430 so I can enjoy them while I drive. So far I think all my speakers are working properly but this video will come in handy if I have to replace the foam in the speakers.
I also had an issue with the rear sub-woofer which turned out to be the gasket I made to replace the deteriorated one. The first gasket was too hard and the speaker vibrated the entire rear deck. I replace my gasket with a much softer one which solved the problem.
So the rear speakers are not the same diameter of the front speakers? I just replaced the front speakers with OEM ($140/each) and I was hoping to swap the old rebuilt front speakers (like you just did on the video) to the rear , would they fit ? I understand I'll need to swap the mounting door frames to make them fit
To properly mount 6 inch to 6.75 in speaker you will need a Metra Electronics 82-8148 adapter. This will allow for fitment of the new rear speakers you want . If I were you I would fit the rears with components and rewire the whole car!! The stock amp is 8 ohm and harmony audio makes drop in replacements in that range.
