Current update. You have impressed me to the point I now own a Lexus 2006 LS 430 with 161,649 miles and the wife was not in favor of me buying it but after I detailed it out and she has riden in it she is impressed with the Lexus LS 430. I bought a white one that looks very much like yours. I love it. Keep making these types of videos by all means.

Yes! Please keep these types of videos. They are a great addition to your regular videos. Don’t stop those either. But these series are great also. They are inspiring me to do the same type of project. I am restoring my dad’s truck I inherited from him when he passed away.
True that the cost to restore have exceeds the value of the car. However, everytime i watched this it reminds me what my late dad who grew up in WW2 torn country with not much thing left after the bombings told me: “Son, i grew up in a time when things are broken, we try to fix it, not iust throw it away without trying”. Thank you for bringing the memory of him putting in the labor to restore this. ..And pls continue the series for this LS after winter.
This brings great joy to my heart. Those headlights are the first job I would have done many moons ago. It is damaged me spiritually having to look at those dirty foggy headlights while the car is receiving thousands of dollars of renovations.
I have just found this channel. Thanks UA-cam Algorithm. First of all, congratulations for this mechanic being so good in communication! Silent background, nice pace speech and calm enviroment. For a non English native speaker, it is a bless! This elevates the level at youtube.
This entire series has been one of the greatest I've seen on UA-cam. Thank you so much for allowing us along on the journey. I'd love to see another passion project of yours!
100% agree. Thank you for all the time you dedicate to making these videos. So many videos are 2-10 minutes and add no value. These videos are in-depth, educational, entertaining and provide great value to the viewers.
You are a HERO! I looked into doing this on my pristine 2006 SC430 but chickened out. Instead, I burned 6 custom CDs with a bunch of my favorite tunes. And I bought this little $15 gizmo from Amazon that interfaces with my iPhone via Bluetooth and allows my iTunes collection to play via the FM radio. And I bought another little gizmo for $10 that allows my iPod to interface via the cassette deck & bluetooth. Hey- it works fine and I didn't have to tear the nice Japan-assembled workmanship apart. For the times I use it- touring the Sonoma-Napa wine country and coast roads- it works just fine.

There is nothing better than getting joy from restoring these older luxury cars. I have a BMW 328i that I am doing the same thing. The difference in the car quality is unreal
I recently had the privilege of driving a 2004 LS 430, and all I can say is WOW! I mean the quietness and comfort of this car is really something. I've never been in a car that quiet before, and the car was almost 20 years old. Simply outstanding and you were absolutely correct.

Love watching the channel. Always useful good information. I am now the proud owner of a 2001 Camry LE with 158k miles only. Never an accident. Never any paint correction. Meticulously maintained with just about every maintenance record and even the original window sticker. The vehicle had a factory installed rust corrosion undercoat package installed. It is truly a rare find and great vehicle. I am in the process of replacing the water pump and you know what that involves.
Hi AMD, really enjoyed watching all of your videos about the 430. I've owned many Toyota/Lexus products, and LS is still my favorite. I am curious to see what the next project would be. I've worked on Avalon, Corolla, Yaris, and many other platforms, including a restoration project on a UCF11. Really looking forward to seeing if we have a similar tastes in chasing down the "childhood dreams". Cheers!
Loved this series. It gives me so much joy watching a restoration from a person that knows 100% about that brand. Can’t wait for the next project. Thank you for your time and all the effort. Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 👋
Yes I love these videos. I appreciate cars as well as keeping them clean and maintained. Loving everything you’ve done to the LS430! I just changed the headlights on my semi last week and it made a big difference.
Incredible transformation! I have a 2002 LS430 and you have inspired me to hold on to it and very well make it one of my “forever” cars. Very very well done!
We absolutely loved your 600k mile Lexus 430 series! Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I personally really like this type of content where there is quality care and restoration to cool automobiles. Would love to see more of this content on your channel in addition to your standard content. Excellent work!!
These full “resto-mod” or return to near new condition video series are awesome. Watching you pour your Toyota knowledge into one of their cars, worthy of all the work like an LS430, is inspiring. I have seen a few full tear downs like yours, the attention to detail is what draw me and likely others to watching. You keep is wanting more! I don’t think one could ever be too obsessive when trying to achieve perfection! Thank you for all your work. Until the next video, May The Lord Bless you and Keep you Too, as you bless us all with a wonderful day sir!
Great to know about those headlights. I’m sure I’ll be at your shop sooner or later getting the same replacements! Another great video….a bit sad seeing the LS430 project ending soon!

I really take your word for looking into my own Toyota car, again thank you, I wish I had you in my country for you to put your hands on my car....
I have a 2004 LS 430, and I have a setup similar to yours. The brand I use is called VAIS Technology. My unit is about half of the size of your unit, from looking at this video. I used high quality 3M double sided tape and tape the unit below the glove box. You cannot see it, unless you stick your head in & look up. 2004 LS 430 only has one glove box, and I believe it is bigger than LS 430 from year 2001-2003. In 2004, when the LS 430 was sold at the dealership, Lexus dealership used VAIS Technology as an aftermarket option if you want to install XM Satellite Radio. Years later, when the iPhone came out, VAIS Technology came up with this unit uses Bluetooth. I have my unit installed (by myself) for over a decade now and it is still working flawlessly. I can listen to music from my iPhone or iPad through my Mark Levinson speakers. Same thing for making phone call or answering phone. From this video, your unit seems to be much bigger than my unit. I still get the Lexus logo on the screen when start up the engine. I like your shift knob. Where did you buy that? Thank you. Love your channel. You always share great information.

I have thoroughly enjoyed your 600,000 mile car series. I recently became an LS430 owner myself of a 222,000 mile example. My first project will be the timing belt which has 130k miles on it. Your projects have been very enlightening. Keep up the great work.
Amazing series! I loved this project. There's more to do but it's at an amazing place already! These cars were made with QUALITY! (I suffer each time I think today everything is borderline junk) Keep them coming! Greetings from Portugal!
Love the content of these high mileage transformations. Great series. This may be the way things are going....buying older Toyota/Lexus and rehabbing them vs. buying new👍 It's better for the environment.
I've really enjoyed this restoration series. I am the original owner of a 2001 Acura TL with 340K miles. I was planning on replacing it as I am soon to retire, but instead, I'd like to just buy a new Lexus for retirement and keep the TL so I can restore it to its original condition as a retirement project. I've been a DIY mechanic all my life and I have really benefitted from your UA-cam content. God bless you my brother!
You have turned the car into a jewel and I understand the feeling of love and attachment you get in such a project. Now it has an incomparable sentimental value and I hope you get the project to the end and enjoy it for a million miles. I look forward to other projects like this. Greetings and safe travels.
My absolute favorite car rehab series! Your talents and dedication are amazing- can’t wait for your next project. Being a Lexus and Toyota owner it has been a treat watching a Master Mechanic who has a great teaching ability- Thank you for sharing your adventure!
I've been following the restoration from the beginning, and it's been a great time watching the magic you've done. I actually would love to buy it from you
Thank you for all your informative content it’s really appreciated. Bringing your 600,000 mile Lexus into the 21Century is excellent, please continue with this as it helps with updating all older cars too.
These videos and your channel are amazing, so thankful for all I learn from you and the team AMD! Thank you. I really love your Toyota in depth review videos, that helps me learn so much for when I want to buy a car someday, same as your best used models videos and your personal experience with their reliabilities. Thank you again and may the Lord bless and keep you as well!
Loving this epic restoration series! Would absolutely watch future series where you restore other old Lexus cars!!! Also, the Apple CarPlay upgrade to this old LS was spectacular 🤯!!!
It’s great to see a Master Mechanic at work to the highest level. As a dedicated Toyota Tacoma owner I appreciate all of your Toyota/Lexus content. Keep up the good work AMD. Thanks!
I love your enthusiasm as you restore this LS 430. It is truly a beautiful automobile and I am happy that you own it. I am so glad I found your channel as I have been a Toyota man since 1986. I look forward to your next video. Thank you.
I truly LOVE all of your videos. They are interesting, detailed, enjoyable, and fun to watch and Yes I enjoy the special series you promote as well. Thank you!!!
Love these videos! I have a 2013 Explorer with 161,000 miles that I bought from a friend at 148,000 miles. It’s a labor of love and I enjoy watching the “DIY”. It gives me the confidence to work on my vehicle.
Amazing series. Love the LS430. New headlights really brings this one back to life. Looks awesome. I did a similar thing to My 2002 ES 300. I installed a touchscreen Alpine unit and hardwired back up camera. It replaced the- six CD changer and cassette player. I said the same thing I brought it to the 21st-century. I play all my music with CarPlay through my iPhone, as well as Google Maps.
This was a supreme effort on the part of you and your team and I've enjoyed every "episode" of the drama! I'm glad, however, that you are taking a break. Yes, I want to see the next epic you put together but maybe sometime next year! Thank Mrs. Car Care Nut for all the hours away from home that it took to complete the project. This been an amazing restoration story. Hope to see more videos like this in near future. Thank you for the time and effort to include us in your work.
Yes please more projects! I feel like this series transformed your channel into a multifaceted haven of knowledge. This opinion comes from watching you do uncomfortable things like aftermarket audio upgrades or detailing the interior. I love your LS430 as much as I love my own LS430!!!
Watching your channel is like therapy for this humble shadetree mechanic. I just can not wait till the next project. Will be Watching your dedication and work ethic and learn each day about my favorite car brands. Toyota/lexus. Avalon/RX 350 owner here. God bless 🙏.
My first Lexus was a Gold 2001 LS430 purchased new in November 2000. What a wonderful car! Seeing you resurrect your LS430 brings back memories. I look forward to seeing future videos when you bring yours out of Winter hibernation.
I have really enjoyed this series because I inherited a 2005 LS 430 from my mother. I no longer have it, wish I had kept it. Keep doing these videos. Thanks
I’ve loved the Lexus LX since it came out. I could never afford one, but still remember the first (and only) time I rode in one. In the mid-90s, Our real estate agent had one and she drove my wife and I around looking at house. I was so impressed that in 2001 we purchased our first Lexus, a RX300. We’re now on our 6th Lexus and I’m still impressed with their products…they keep getting better. Your restoration project has been a great as it’s from the mechanic’s perspective. Continue with LX and looking forward to your next project!
My dad fixed cars so watching you reminds me of the many times I would go into his garage to see what he was working on or what stage he was at. Thank you!
I love these full length projects! I currently own a 200k mile 05 UL. This past weekend, I used your video to help me replace my valve cover gasket. Hopefully the next project is an MK3 Supra 😎
Outstanding series AMD, glad you are going to revive it once you take your LS out of mothballs when winter's over. The front end looks so much better with those crystal clear headlamp units! And technically speaking, you didn't remove the front bumper, you removed the front bumper cover. 😉 👍
Recently purchased a 2006 Ls 430 after driving an 99 Ls 400 for 3 years seeing someone taking the time to restored to almost better than factory is so fascinating thank you for the content!
I absolutely love that project! Almost like a restomode. The fact you updated the audio with iPhone Auto (it has Android Auto too, which is better) in a Lexus that they won't make anymore of that level of quality.
Following the this renew of the LS430 has been extremely enjoyable and entertaining. Keep up all your videos, they are very informative, in particular your reviews.
You are absolutely the Best. I was so sad when you said you were putting the Lexus away for the winter. This was the best car project series ever. You and the team did an amazing job and the presentation peerless.
This man is a genius, I've watched this whole series. Glad to find someone on my own level of obsessive-compulsive working. Love this car, I myself only have a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu but I take just as good of care of it. I'm the second owner and 6 years in I'm only at 113,000 miles. Looking to get this style Lexus in February or March. Awesome work
AMD your videos on the restoration of the LS is amazing! Can’t wait for the final drive when everything is completed and updates on the future of the LS430 to the million miles!
Thank you for sharing this video of an old car restoration. I would love to see more of these types of videos in the future. Your efforts and time are greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work!
I love it when people resurrect old cars back to life, but by far, this was the best one of all. May the lord keep you, your family, and the 430 safe and happy. Will be more eagerly waiting for the next project than when I was waiting for the interior restoration episode of the 430.
My father was a huge Lexus fan until he unexpectedly passed away in 2003. He had the first SC400 they released here in the USA and then purchased an SC300 for my mom. When I got a little older he switched to the ES and had a 1998 ES300 and then a 2002 ES300. Our last Lexus was a 2004 GX470. Seeing all of your videos makes we want to get another.
Have been working on fixing up and repainting an old '04 Corolla, a great practice car for a lowly shade tree. This vid is just what I need. Love this series.
I’m amazed you got it all apart and back togetherness again. I’ve had some experience on 98’Lincoln Mark VIII and invariably certain clips would break because plastic gets old and brittle. Thank you for sharing your story of restoring a 600,000 mile Lexus 430.
Great!! Thanks for all your work and info. I have an 04 ls430 w/ 154k. I have thought of the Apple CP mod. too afraid to tear out the dash… now I am go to tackle it. Where did you get the headlights? Have not changed the transmission fluid yet! Thanks again for your channel… I watch it for hours.

Definitely more projects! But U needa work on the editing and rhythm of the final vid that u post. "But it's ok, not the end of the world" :) GL 👍
My absolute favorite car rehab series! Your talents and dedication are amazing- can’t wait for your next project. Being a Lexus and Toyota owner it has been a treat watching a Master Mechanic who has a great teaching ability- Thank you for sharing your adventure!
Im not a car enthusiast but for some reason the series is entertaining.
I love it! So happy for you my brother! Please continue doing projects like this. May our Lord bless you and your family!!!
yeah, salt, gravel and sand suck! That's why I'm getting in my new car and heading to my winter "cottage" in AZ for 6 months😊
Love it! Very excited for the next project as well! This is premium content.
Really enjoyed this series. Demonstrates you passion, and commitment to excellent workmanship.
Love the LS content. And yes, another rebuild series would be welcomed.
It’s great to see a Master Mechanic at work to the highest level. As a dedicated Toyota Tacoma owner I appreciate all of your Toyota/Lexus content. Keep up the good work AMD. Thanks!
more projects like this! I love restoration
This has been a great series, my introduction to your channel. Please continue with this project and others like it.
I’m tagging Mrs Car Care Nut in the cost video right now. Hahahahaha 😅
Simple things like these sure make a HUGE difference!
Great Job
Love projects. Keep em coming!
I love your enthusiasm as you restore this LS 430. It is truly a beautiful automobile and I am happy that you own it. I am so glad I found your channel as I have been a Toyota man since 1986. I look forward to your next video. Thank you.
Yes! More projects like this please!
These videos are a work of art. Simple, elegant and honest. Something so peaceful about watching this. It lowers my blood pressure.
This has been one of the most interesting car projects I've had the pleasure of watching on UA-cam! Great job to all involved!
God Bless and GET SOME SLEEP!
Definitely would love to see another project. Not only is it mesmerizing to watch the transformation, but your patience , knowledge and description of the process makes it even better.
I wonder how much you have increased the value with this video. The transformation is absolutely amazing!
Recently purchased a 2006 Ls 430 after driving an 99 Ls 400 for 3 years seeing someone taking the time to restored to almost better than factory is so fascinating thank you for the content!
Highlight of my week whenever I see an update on this project. Please keep doing projects like this. It's like soap opera for Car guys...
This is the best series by far. Love projects rescuing older cars. Hate to see it end.
Yes please continue restoration projects like these, they are amazing. The love and care is unmatched.
Please do another project! I loved this series. The ls430 is gorgeous and it was amazing how you brought it back to life.
I subscribed to this channel because of the LS430 project…please keep these types of videos coming!
Sad to see the LS430 go into hibernation! But I understand, the Chicago winters are harsh.
Great Job on this restoration.
