I'm 5 foot 5 myself thanks for making the video looking to change out my stock handlebars for my Iron 883 I think I'm going to look for 8 - 10 inch Apes hangers whenever I have time I'm going to have a friend measure to help me decide but again thanks making a video for us short Riders got yourself a new sub!

Great video man. I have an Iron 883 that I’m putting 12s on because I cannot stand the stock bars. The bars are being shipped and the wait is killing me.
You won’t need any kit for the cables… Sportsters can handle up to 12” bars with doing anything to the throttle or brake cables
My 08 Nightster with 9k miles is stage 2 with woods performance cams… It dynos 128 Horsepower and 116 fpt… It’s fast as fuck…
You can pull them back to where your comfortable. They don't have to be pushed so far forward.
im 5'6 and i got 11in mini apes and kept my 6in riser so in total i got 17in and so far no numb arms . do have to change the bushings though
do you get the bushings from harley?
I just wanted to comment on your comment in regards to the bike wobbling when in corners at higher speeds. I had a nightster as well and it did it all the time, I’ve had a 48 after that , it never did it. I don’t know about any of the 883 irons or any of that but the nightster? For sure!
Prolly the smaller tires. The 48s have fat tires. And the ape hangers don't help either
Those are pretty tall, def higher than 12"... plus they're mounted on 2" risers!

I have a 98 1200 sportster with 4 1/2" in riders and 16" apes but I'm 5'11" tall. Yea my hands do go to sleep from time to time. But it ain't to bad at all. I've only had the bike for about 3 months now but is getting tore down this winter and getting a fat boy rear fender. I forgot to mention I have a Springer front end with no fender but itll get a fender this winter. Is getting a new crome primary cover. Its getting a double game tank on it. Its just go a peanut tank unit right now. It as white wall tires bt those are coming off and getting plain black tires. The white walls are to hard to keep clean with how much I ride it. It plum crazy purple right now but itll be copperhead pearl over the winter. So it's a great bike but I need to customize it the way i want it. I'll probably change the style of apes also but I'm keeping the same size. This is my old lady's UA-cam channel and that's why it says melissa Kelley. My name is frank Maxfield. I rode to my cabin which is 320 ish miles and man i was exhausted lol. Granted averaging 90 it was a lil sketch but not to where i won tdo it again.
I never go that far but I'm willing to have the work out for such nice bikes for such cheap bikes. I have a flamed out sporrtster custom now I got for 3500 as well
I’ve grown up riding dirt bikes and have rode my dads super glide around the block, have been looking into getting 9’e of these for my first Harley any recommendation on why or why not to?
9" hangers if that is what you are referring to sounds like the perfect height

Nice sporty.. i have a 96 1200 sporty and I have 14 inch apes with 2inch risers. I dont like how wide yours are.
I was not in love with them but for being on the bike already was not giving them back lol
I got a 97 with drag bars thinking on switching to 12s next season

@@andybyrne3542 No one puts 12” wide bars on a Sportster bud it ruins the entire profile of the bike… They literally make thousands of mini apes for the Sportster those are street glide bars

Too high for sure. I am looking at 12 inch ones myself no riser assist.
Need different bushings is all. Don’t do rubber riser bushings on apes
Those bars are the right height just way to wide… These bikes can handle up to 12” bars without any KIT nothing needs done but removing the grips, controls and the old bar and putting the new one in and bolting the controls and grips back on.
Are you sure the ''12 ape hanger doesn't need cable extender kit? I own a XL883 from 2004 and just ordered ''12 ape hangers with the Burly cable kit ''12 for 280 dollars...
The bars are cool...not really feeling it on that sporty tho...way too big and wide for that small bike
