THE REVIEW
I watch each episode with my own commentary, often pausing the scenes to get my words out without having to talk over the episode, and also to point out and analyze the show's art and animation. I have seen each episode already growing up, so these reviews are to compare and contrast the five categories listed below.
PLOT (Scaled from 1 to 5 Points)
The foundation of the episode. Uniqueness and overused tropes are taken into account, but it is also judged on how well it tells the story of the episode. An episode can score a 5 even with a basic/ cliche plotline as long as it has good pacing, worthy use of its tropes, and feels well-polished. An episode can lose points due to plotholes, uneven storytelling, and relying too heavily on cliches to do the work for it.
CHARACTERIZATION (Scaled from 1 to 5 Points)
How well the characters are written. Do they feel like themselves compared to the grand narrative of the franchise? Are the supporting or one-off characters interesting, or pure plot devices? Did the humor land? Did the actions and character motivations make sense?
VISUALS (Scaled from 1 to 5 Points)
Basically, everything that happens on-screen. Character Design. Animation. Backgrounds. Creative mechanics and solutions. If there is CGI or digital effects added, how well do they blend into the show, and were they used as an enhancement, or a crutch?
IMPORTANCE (Scaled from 1 to 5 Points)
This includes, but is not strictly based on, how important the episodes are to the current story arc (if there is one) or the general narrative of the Ben 10 Franchise. Points can also be awarded for how impactful the episode was, or how favored/ important it is to the general Ben 10 fanbase. I ask myself, "If I skipped this, would I be missing out on the 'Ben 10 Experience?' "
ENTERTAINMENT (Scaled from 1 to 5)
Pretty much the most important part of developing a tv show. You can be perfect in all four of the previous categories, but the episode can still be boring. On the flip side, the episode can be absolute garbage, but still an enjoyable watch. How likely would you be to put this episode on if you were in the mood to watch Ben 10? - Розваги

That scene where Argit showed no remorse for Andreas and Kevin giving him a piece of his mind was the most memorable part of the episode for me.
And Argit responding with "I just don't get you, Kevin." made me hate the guy even more.
I feel like Kevin saw a bit of himself in Andreas, which is why he took it the hardest when Argit showed no remorse for his sacrifice.

@@Jackie-McCann Interesting take. What I thought was when kevin said those lines, which are ''he trusted you! he loved you! And what did you do? you used him!'' , he felt like he remembered the person he used to be before he became a part of the tennyson team. He remembered how he used others while not even caring about the consequences, and how much he despises himself because of his past, and argit reminds him of that past, since he also used others for his own survival, that's why kevin got really angry. Argit reminded Kevin the person he used to be, and that's one of the reasons why he despises argit.

It feels utterly terrible for Andreas to be exploited by Argit for his loyalty and strength. He's just a scared simple minded guy with a good heart who just happened to end up working for someone who does not give a single sh_t about his actual well being beyond how he helps him. Literally moments after Andreas potentially died saving him? He cares more about the lost money and doesn't even bother feeling sad about it at all. Out of the Andromeda Five, Andreas most deserved to go back home safely but instead he's plucked from under the rubble, probably nearly dead, and captured by Agreggor.

I like to think Kevin described Alien X and Ben’s other aliens to marketing companies for brand royalties
I always just assumed ben sent them the silhouette of alien X from his omnitrix and discribed his powers to them
Kevin snapping at Argit is still one of my favorite quotes from the series "He trusted you! He loved you! And what did you do? You used him! And now... he's gone."
He is powerful and has a pure heart
A kind alien I really liked as a kid
If I remember correctly this was the first time Argit showed sympathy/sadness for someone and then Kevin's anger at Argit for just disregarding him. This was one of my favorites of UA
I doubt any "sympathy" or "sadness" was sincere on Argits part.

The running gag between Gwen and Kevin about the latter’s love of money in this episode was hilarious. One things that UAF excelled at was the character dynamics, interactions and banter between the main trio
It was heartbreaking to see Andreas hurt and bleeding 💔

I really enjoyed this one. Kevin was both hilarious and showed some real emotion, especially in that final scene where he snaps at Argit and punches him. It also shows that despite all the jokes in the episode about how he loves almost nothing more than money, he does have remorse, unlike Argit. Andreas is also such a gentle giant that I wish we got to see more off, like with all the Andromeda 5

Mmm, yeah I have to admit Out of all the andromeda alien episodes I can barely remember this one. Never been crazy about the forever nights save the dagon war arc so i’m hardly surprised to see them made into a Joke here. Andreas of course is an absolute bean and lovable, and the fact argit used him and got good later on in the future makes me *livid!*

Dang I always assumed the black on Andreas when the castle fell on him was cracks. It was oil, ie, blood for his techoorgankc species
Even though Aggregor was going to find him anyway and Gwen didn’t know how durable he was, she could have at least tried using her mana powers to find him under the rubble instead of him being assumed dead.
I think the explanation was that since Andreas is like, part machine, it interferes with her mana reading powers.

This was the first episode of ultimate alien I ever watched
Honestly while the visuals were nothing special the fight scenes with Kevin swordfighting and gwen using Mana to power up her punches were excellent
My favorite moment was when that kid with the alien x smoothie cup was talking about how the alien x episode was a disappointment and felt more like filler and Ben passive aggressively signing his cup to make him go away gag was really funny.....
I'm assuming the writters read that from a fan site or something and added it into the show....

As for how they got a picture of Alien X, perhaps Jimmy Jones caught and leaked some footage of him from X = Ben + 2? I know he didn't use the pose on the cup during the episode, but I think if they knew what he looked like - black figure with stars and eyes - they could probably draw him in that pose, because the other cups also feature aliens in poses that we've never seen them in before, and only in promotional material for the show.
And it says "Adreas' Fault" up there.

Anyone remember the episode where captain Nemesis gave a girl Stockholm syndrome and murdered alot of people? Might be the darkest episode in the series
I see UA getting a lot of quick reviews. The peaks of UA are some of the best in the franchise, but a lot of it is fairly by the numbers. Still a rock solid action hero show, but not a lot of episodes are worth an hour long animation story breakdown

Regarding Alien X, I guess maybe Ben presented all his aliens in some interview or commercial campaign and now all, including Alien X, are common knowledge.
It would have been hilarious having one episode With Ben in a B subplot about him trying to merchandise his aliens With Kevin as manager
While A plot of the episode is about I don't know Gwen and Julie or something involving them

They should sell them as merchandise for us to buy. So we can have cups in our homes with the aliens like portrayed in the show. That should assist with their merchandise and hopefully show them that we care about the classic continuity.

Is it me, or do Andreas and Armodrillo bear a strong resemblance to Transformers’ Bumblebee, albeit with a jacked up armadillo body. May as well nickname him Bumblebucket, or Bumblejack. It was sad to see him bleeding what looked like oil.

Glad this one got a shorter breakdown. I hope Fused gets a longer one; that’s prob the best ep from the Andromeda Five arc in my opinion, minus Escape From Aggregor due to the exposition heavy nature of that one
its def my favourite and if you ask me and in my opinion the second best in terms of quality behind the NRG one (forget the name). But I agree there is little to say and it works better as a short one.

1:01 Not really. I think back to my fast food job days, how ineffectual everything was when the boss wasn't currently watching us. It's clear the knights themselves are just regular guys trying to do their best in this insane cult they're a part of, and usually it's the knights in charge that are the actual competent hardasses, who genuinely hate aliens.

Also previously Andreas just dug underground and shattered the castles in peace. He can't really take the castle down when his friends are inside, can he?

Andreas is such a weird character to me as a kid cause I was very confused by his attitude. How he attack in the escape from episode made him seem more stupid but not a person who listens easily but at the same time I do love him here especially his sacrifice and how sad it was he almost died. Now I see what Kuro means with his personality and I am not confused anymore just sad at his ending.
I wish Andromeda five appeared in OV ❤️. They would've been awesome side characters

Who here was also annoyed at Gwen constantly mentioning the whole money thing? I wanted Ben to yell at Gwen and say enough.
Yeah despite being the most mature person in the trio, she can sometimes be very childishly stubborn.
Well I think most people enjoyed the banter, I certainly did. It's not the first or last to be seen since this is the dynamic of their relationship. I don't see how it could be annoying. She was angry at Kevin, her boyfriend, for saying such a shallow and cold statement: "I love money more than anything in the world". I'd be pissed too, with all of the development he made in those past seasons he shouldn't say that so easily. He certainly didn't mean it that way, it was most probably the force of habbit paired with his rash thinking (we know he isn't the brightest and most sensitive when i comes to this sort of thing). This is another on-going thing as we know: Kevin tends to go back to his thug tendencies and whenever he crosses the line Gwen and Ben are there to scold him and keep him in check. Even Ben does it, so I don't see why he'd tell Gwen to shut up.
@@lunarguardian5523 I do agree that Gwen can be childish and stubborn, even if she's supposed to be the voice of reason out of the three of them, but I like that about her. Sure, there were occasions when her naivity and compassion got them but mostly her into trouble (like when P'Andor tried to get out and blasted her, nearly radiating everyone), yet it balances the aggression and coldness that Ben and Kevin have most of the times.
Just to make sure I'll say that most people take it as arguing but I write a lot out of habbit and because I love to rant about Ben 10 with other fans. All love and no hard feelings :)
@@roxanashere7959 Yeah in the end gwen is the most caring and compassionate person in the team tennyson. I remember that even when kevin was mutated after he absorbed the ultimatrix, gwen was the only one who kept believing in kevin and she was the only one who tried to find a better way other than killing kevin. Even grandpa max, who has been a mentor to ben and gwen, saw killing him as the only way, but gwen continously searched for a way to cure him. It is just that sometimes her desire to make things better or solve the problems prevents her from seeing the bigger picture, like in the episode where she traveled into the past to prevent ben and kevin from hacking the omnitrix, but this allowed charmcaster and hex to take over bellwood and kill gwen because kevin was not strong enough to stop them. Nevertheless, it is undeniable that she is both the reason and the heart of the team, always trying to find a better, more logical and more pacifist solutions rather than punching her way through everything like ben and kevin. Especially in the third season of the alien force where ben became unnecessarily immature again (despite maturing a lot in the first two seasons) it felt like the team was able to stay as one piece only because of gwen.
Also yeah as much as gwen loves kevin, she knows that he can't quite get rid of his trader side and therefore he applies to unethical methods sometimes, like the episode where the trio went to stop a war on an alien planet and kevin agreed to sell weapons to both sides with argit. Even though he matured a lot since the original series he still feels the urge to do some illegal stuff, or he just puts his materialistic desires before other important things or people around him, which gwen disapproves and sometimes shows that disapproval in rather childish ways, but that definitely doesn't mean that she is immature or childish as a person.
Yeah it is nice to be able to talk about ben 10 with other fans, it helps to learn from each other's perspectives and look at the show from other angles that we have never thought before. My favorite was the original series but when we talk about depth and characterization i think alien force has the best potential as a discussion topic among all the other series.
I would have probably liked if the Forever Knights was still more like a secret organisation like they were portrayed in the original series

Tbf the Knights whose castles fell by Andreas were because Andreas was underground and collapsing them. I doubt he was in a position where they could just blast 'em as soon as they see 'em. I imagine by the time one already heeds Argit they've heard about what happens and are just too afraid to resist.

It's not a plot hole that he can break their buildings and still be captured. You can cat a black widow in a jar but it can still kill you if you aren't ready for it.
