My best takeaway from that episode was when julie tells herve "he didnt ask to be a hero, but at the end of the day, he does a lot of good, so cut him some slack". that was wonderfully put by julie.
Except Hervé didn't stole Julie from Ben. Ben ruined it too many times so he should've expected that. PAUL HOWEVER SELF INSERT INTO PETER'S LIFE AND STOLE/WARP MARY JANE INTO HIS PERSONAL WAIFU!! 😡😡😡😡
Well the thing is this Ben might learn from this and be better to Kai Plus I discovered that Julie still has feeling for Ben despite no longer being together Thought thier not together anymore they can still be close
Julie aside, (I think smarter people than me have already explained how annoying the break-up is) but can we talk about how annoying it is that every episode Ester shows up in, she's like ignored by Ben, or Ben is preoccupied with some other girl, or other girls are fighting over Ben. It's like worse than if she was just defined by being his girlfriend, she's not even given the dignity of that. Couldn't we get episodes with Ester where it's just her and Ben hanging out? Or her doing something not related to Ben? And most importantly, could we have an episode where she's not just treated as another girl in a line-up?
The thing is... despite having romance, this is an action adventure cartoon, so romance is something that always stays in the backstage or in service of the adventure-action plot. Episodes dedicated to it are hard to get due to them always needing a fight to happen or a mystery to investigate.
@@horadetodososlegos I'm not saying I want more romance. If anything, I'd like more episodes with Ester where the premise isn't about Ben's girlfriend. Her helping fight a villain or solve a mystery.

She seems to have genuine feelings for ben himself here (not once was fourarms mentioned by her in the episode). But in cat fight, it's pretty clear she doesn't give a flying f about him and just like his tetramand form for being an alpha.

At first was a bit salty they ended something that went lasted all of UAF, and still feel the break up reasoning is dumb, but after some years and life experience, can say that relationship lasting as long as it did would've been a miracle in itself. Shame to see Ben and Julie end on such terms, but can totally see why, from story and realistic approach
What makes the breakup situation even worse is that Ben can travel anywhere on the planet whenever he wants to with the Omnitrix, but he just decides to not visit his girlfriend who he hasn't heard from in months. Also, it's really odd that Gwen never intervened in this considering she was always getting on Ben for being a bad boyfriend.
@@theamazingspooderman2697 What? Checking on his girlfriend who hasn't spoken to him in months is personal gain? Also Ben has used the omnitrix for less in uaf and omniverse.
@@theamazingspooderman2697 Checking in on someone out of concern isn't personal gain. You could personally not like Ben using it for that, but he's used the watch for way less in uaf and Omniverse.
I partly think they broke them up just so it lines up in the initial future where he ends up with Kai. Even merch for his UAF future confirmed he’s with Kai, I initially believed that version ended up with Julie with a half Japanese Kenny.
Julie deserved a better ending than a misunderstanding joke breakup. Especially after that kiss in the finale of Ultimate Alien. Come on OV writers. You could’ve done better. I still hate this episode, the break-up scene is one of the dumbest in the whole franchise that I still cant get over and honestly I just find the whole episode to be a mess. It's just a bunch of characters acting goofy jumping around in a severely uninteresting and goofy conflict that has me utterly uninvested and uninterested in the stakes. This episode doesnt make me care about Ester more, you can skip her appearance here entirely and almost nothing would change, her contributions to this story are fairly underwhelming, Looma is just unlikeable and does not make me laugh and Idk why Fistina needed to be here. Maybe I'd be less salty if we still saw Julie after this as a friend but she just disappears completely so I cant shake the feeling they just wrote this mess of an episode in order to cut Julie out of the story in the most forced abrupt way possible.
I honestly haven't seen this episode myself ever since it came out and haven't sought out watching it again, even after seeing every other Omniverse episode. The missed potential with Julie was too painful to be seen thrown away so carelessly it stuck with me. Instead of turning her into an action girlfriend with Ship, joining the Plumbers and have her being a main character in Ultimate Alien, they wrote her into being generic superhero girlfriend #68937 and wrote Ben as an uncaring cheating douchebag.
Not gonna lie seeing how good the episode is, how important it is, AND how much time you put, i feel this episode should have had a full review, i understand and accept most episodes are skipped for convenience but in all honesty i feel this one having so many loose ends tied up shouldn't have been so briefly looked upon.
imo this should have been a long breakdown bcz people have this headcanon that Julie broke up over a game, no Ben and Julie broke up bcz she knew Ben put the game over her, which is just what UAF Ben would do (him willing to watch tv show instead of going with Julie and Kevin and Gwen and this is from AF S2)
I like the suggestion that Rob made earlier on, that Kai should have been the third member of Bens team. It would have made more sense when they did eventually end up together. However, the fact that Kais subsequent appearances consist of her and Ben arguing for most of an episode, makes me kind of glad the writers didn't do that. Because in episodes where Ben and Kai are together (in the present, not as much in the future) it really is annoying how much the two of them argue.
@@mayotango1317 Haven't read it myself, but from what I've heard about it, it's basically what Omniverse might've been if the powers-that-be didn't have an absolutely *MASSIVE* hate-boner for the titular protagonist. Them breaking up is fine. The WAY they handled it is NOT. Tell about their relationship and fights and Julie’s character all you want, but despite all of that their relationship lasted the entire UAF despite all those problems and Ben’s own faults. It at least deserves a respectful end but NO they break up over a stupid misunderstanding and it looks like Ben did not even call Julie after the Sumo game let alone ANYTIME after that since Julie has found an entire new boyfriend, which is out of character even for Ben. I like Ester more and i am fine with Julie and Ben breaking up but they deserved a better break up than the absolutely disrespectful bullshit this was
Hervé’s iconic quote leads to some important questions… Bro had clearly seen Julie “Put on the Dog” before, but he seems to think combat isn’t the right time for such action. So… what were they doing when Julie last “Put on the Dog?” I must know this answer.
I'm in the minority but I liked the breakup scene itself and found it hilarious. I think the problem is how it slots into context where like you said Julie NOT approaching Ben directly afterward and Ben somehow still thinking they were together while hitting it off with Ester just doesn't make sense. UA had that period where he did break up with Julie and I recall that being straight up off screen (an ep starts with them broken up and then the Unitrix ep is around there too). So I don't see this as any worse.
Gonna be honest, despite how badly Ben fumbled with Julie they kinda deserved to break up as a couple since they were incompatible ever since Ben grow his ego since S3 of Alien Force which that follow him oh Ultimate alien and even on Omniverse sometimes. Though I would’ve prefer if their break up was better handle, oh welp. Plus look at the bright side, he’s just on 3rd place of CN protagonists worst fumbles, at least he didn’t manipulate Julie with her emotions that cause a fight that almost destroyed the world or interrupted in his friend’s wedding just to give the worst finding love speech I’ve ever heard. Because he couldn’t get over his feelings from his previous love and just move on… man Mordecai, you just had to win that gold medal.
@@Eric6761 yeah, heck even Finn was Able to fix his friendship with FP, even if it took 2-3 seasons. Mordecai fumble the hardest, he both lost CJ’s relationship in love and Friendship which ended up with CJ not being seen again besides very few small cameos.
I constantly forget Julie even exists to be honest... Like she is/always has been kind of a nothing character to me? Like it was neat she helped out in the Hybreed Invasion, and when Ben was having children(still weird) but outside of that she really doesn't do much to my memory. I mean she joined a cult in UA but like it doesn't really matter much. So in my opinion the downfall of her character, is that she's barely a character to begin with.
It's just really frustrating watching Ben and Julie's relationship deteriorate over the course of 3 series and then just implode in a bad joke. Compared to the maturity and understanding their relationship started with, this is disappointing. It's just salt on the wound when the writers keep trying to ship him with Kai when they have basically no chemistry together.

Same, we unfortunetly were robbed from possibly the greatest relationship Ben could've had.
Yeah Ben X Ester forever
Also i still hate when they retconned osmosians to be mutants
I prefer them to be alien species
same, Ben marrying an alien and following his grandpa's legacy??? hell yeah give me that
She was even voiced by Yuri's wife, they sucks they moved her aside
0:12 that was so stupid
My best takeaway from that episode was when julie tells herve "he didnt ask to be a hero, but at the end of the day, he does a lot of good, so cut him some slack". that was wonderfully put by julie.
Huh, Ben had a Paul years before Spider-Man had got his Paul.
Except Hervé didn't stole Julie from Ben. Ben ruined it too many times so he should've expected that.
PAUL HOWEVER SELF INSERT INTO PETER'S LIFE AND STOLE/WARP MARY JANE INTO HIS PERSONAL WAIFU!! 😡😡😡😡
Well the thing is this
Ben might learn from this and be better to Kai
Plus I discovered that Julie still has feeling for Ben despite no longer being together
Thought thier not together anymore they can still be close
Julie aside, (I think smarter people than me have already explained how annoying the break-up is) but can we talk about how annoying it is that every episode Ester shows up in, she's like ignored by Ben, or Ben is preoccupied with some other girl, or other girls are fighting over Ben.
It's like worse than if she was just defined by being his girlfriend, she's not even given the dignity of that.
Couldn't we get episodes with Ester where it's just her and Ben hanging out? Or her doing something not related to Ben? And most importantly, could we have an episode where she's not just treated as another girl in a line-up?
Absolutely agreed.
I'm surprised an episode with a 5 in importance did not get a full breakdown

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASH
you made my childhood much better with fusion lab and much more your ideas and comedy truely makes my days and even my life and also for other people
On a side note, I actually like Looma, and even think she's kind of cute. In terms of love-interests for Ben, she's my third favorite behind Julie and Ester. For no other reason than her status of being a tall, dommy-mommy GF.
I agree fully with that, although she seems entirely head over heels for him
i can definelty see it working, Ben seems to have a thing for women with strong personalities who know what they want and fight for it
She seems to have genuine feelings for ben himself here (not once was fourarms mentioned by her in the episode). But in cat fight, it's pretty clear she doesn't give a flying f about him and just like his tetramand form for being an alpha.
Man of culture
HOT TAKE
I would rather watch the mess that is Ben's love life then watch another romance anime about the main leads bonding for several episodes without confessing there feelings.
I appreciate how Ben 10 shows how messy dating can be instead making look easy for someone to find love.
Agreed
yeah, I have the same opinion on Spectacular Spider-Man's romance, he got with Liz but if his mind in focussed in Gwen then he did good by breaking up with her (though the timing was bad cuz Liz was just suffering from the loss of her brother)
I agree that this was a fun episode and sadly had the worst breakup, glad it's actually really good tho
Hervé’s iconic quote leads to some important questions… Bro had clearly seen Julie “Put on the Dog” before, but he seems to think combat isn’t the right time for such action. So… what were they doing when Julie last “Put on the Dog?” I must know this answer.
Oh no bro your actually asking the real questions here.
I am Benlie Shipper through and through. But your explanation and the fact i have grown up by 10 years 😂 actually gives me a better perspective on them both. Hats off Kuro
This episode was so making me triggered no matter what and honestly Ester in my opinion was the right choice for Ben and not Kai still wished we knew who Patty was.
"Accident rizz"
Beautiful
At first was a bit salty they ended something that went lasted all of UAF, and still feel the break up reasoning is dumb, but after some years and life experience, can say that relationship lasting as long as it did would've been a miracle in itself. Shame to see Ben and Julie end on such terms, but can totally see why, from story and realistic approach
You call this realistic? Omniverse is a weird show.
I wish Esther was used more in this show. She seems like a WAY BETTER girlfriend than Julie.
Way better than Juile and Kai
Ben and julie is a very unsatisfying dynamic as most of their issues felt very forces and artificial
That was fault of Cartoon Network.
What makes the breakup situation even worse is that Ben can travel anywhere on the planet whenever he wants to with the Omnitrix, but he just decides to not visit his girlfriend who he hasn't heard from in months. Also, it's really odd that Gwen never intervened in this considering she was always getting on Ben for being a bad boyfriend.
using Omnitrix for personal gain is a plot point that would only work for Classic and should not be brought back
@@theamazingspooderman2697 What? Checking on his girlfriend who hasn't spoken to him in months is personal gain? Also Ben has used the omnitrix for less in uaf and omniverse.
@@n4825 still its a personal gain, Ben shouldn't use that for personal gain imo
@@theamazingspooderman2697 Checking in on someone out of concern isn't personal gain. You could personally not like Ben using it for that, but he's used the watch for way less in uaf and Omniverse.
Loving the new quick reviews
7:50 Glad someone else agrees it looks so good.
I guess they weren’t much of a couple anyway.
The episode overall was good. Great way of getting Ben out of his undesired engagement.
Still continues my belief this is a Harem Anime. One romance may have been cut off but Looma is still gonna be around.
There are alot of things I hate about OV and the harem is one of them
OV writers are the same as UA writers, plus we really gonna forget all that misunderstandings and cheating just bcz they kissed?
bruh the OV writers team and the UAF team are the same one, they were just tired of Ben and Julie
Does anyone else Ben thought he was Julie when he got engaged with Looma and didn't think about mentioning this to anyone.
I remember this was the episode that made me drop omniverse as a kid.
Still dislike that they got rid of Julie
Happy birthday our gastro gummy bear
I like the implication rook is just as bad when it comes to attracting women but he's just deals with it better
The best way to deal with it is to ignore their advances
@axelnilsson5124 Not really, Rook is very straight forwards and clear. "Im not ibterested, please stop", there's no room for misubderstandings or anything
.. Fistina is just the kind of person who casually igbores that

Yes!
And is Looma
Ngl I would totally do that if I was Ben.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 putting aside the gold digger benefits, Looma seems like a better love interest than Julie
Would he be joined by Fry, Zapp Brannigan and Kif?
You get it. The idea of breaking up is not bad at all, just how they handled it tbh
I mean I was never really that much of a fan of the pairing of Julie and Ben. In my opinion I always saw Ben getting together with an alien chick more than a human. Exactly like grandpa Max who married one and had a little side piece.
I see him as alone or with Kai (unpopular opinion I know)
The problem is that Ben is not Max, even Rook and Kevin are more Max that Ben.
I like this longer breakdown format that is shorter then the full breakdowns
Honestly with how terrible their relationship was in UAF. I think this was just bound to happen. I think it was the inevitable.
yeah most people think the same
Terrible? Wait for Kai. She is Amber Heard.
@@mayotango1317 Their relationship was worse bro.
@@coldandstinky Still is a relationship. What they did with Kai is so weird.
@@mayotango1317 Sorry I made a misunderstanding. I think Kai and Ben was worse then Julie and Ben. Julie and Ben was bad but Kai and Ben was worse.
Happy birthday to are best fusion artist. Thanks for making the tank as good as it is
I still hate this episode, the break-up scene is one of the dumbest in the whole franchise that I still cant get over and honestly I just find the whole episode to be a mess.
2:45 Hearing kuro say "rizz" is quite unexpected
Not gonna lie seeing how good the episode is, how important it is, AND how much time you put, i feel this episode should have had a full review, i understand and accept most episodes are skipped for convenience but in all honesty i feel this one having so many loose ends tied up shouldn't have been so briefly looked upon.
imo this should have been a long breakdown bcz people have this headcanon that Julie broke up over a game, no Ben and Julie broke up bcz she knew Ben put the game over her, which is just what UAF Ben would do (him willing to watch tv show instead of going with Julie and Kevin and Gwen and this is from AF S2)
another long quick review, cool alos this is cool to introduce the tenn speed and to to see julie and ship again, i missed ship
Yuri Lowenthal is actually the voice of the Spider-Man 1 and 2 game
He’s really great in that role!
I wish Julie was the third member of Ben team, she had a power armor.
@@mayotango1317 Would you have had them still be together if you were writing the series? Just curious
@@anonymoususer9599 Just read the fanfic Ben 10: Guardians by Shadow-DJ, is like Omniverse but more better.
@@mayotango1317 Haven't read it myself, but from what I've heard about it, it's basically what Omniverse might've been if the powers-that-be didn't have an absolutely *MASSIVE* hate-boner for the titular protagonist.
Seriously, watch-through Omniverse again & try tell me that the writers, studio, execs and/or the network itself aren't deliberately trying to make Ben look as bad & incompetent as possible as often as possible...
As somebody who dropped Omniverse early on, I was shocked to learn that Ester was only in 5 episodes.
She’s like Classic Kevin where it feels like she appears more than she actually does
Them breaking up is fine. I like Ester more and i am fine with Julie and Ben breaking up but they deserved a better break up than the absolutely disrespectful bullshit this was
Julie this is no time to be putting on the dog😭

Ben at least maintain their relationship on good terms
@@Eric6761 yeah, heck even Finn was Able to fix his friendship with FP, even if it took 2-3 seasons.
Mordecai fumble the hardest, he both lost CJ’s relationship in love and Friendship which ended up with CJ not being seen again besides very few small cameos.
Gwen and Kevin are more incompatible and still hard to believe that they are the best couple.
@@mayotango1317 they talk
@@Eric6761 No really. Gwen scolds, and Kevin talks about his car. At least Julie and Ben did have conversations about their feelings.
