I love how Kuro has become the leader or figurehead of the Ben Ten Community. Keeping the show relevant, gathering the fans together and shouting them out. This channel has done great things, keep it up.
That might be true only for the english speaking fandom or should I say faction. As the biggest fanbase of Ben 10 namely Indian fans have been running several Ben 10 UA-cam channels. However I must admit Kuro does a lot better job than anyone .... Kudos To Kuro!!!

I think the hatred towards magic is meant to be a reference to christian's hatred for witches back in the medieval era, since the knights are clearly from religious origin (the tale of saint george and the dragon IS a christian tale) and christians autorities hunted witches
Yeah, honestly If the censors allowed it One would expect much more religous references with the forever knights. Ironically whenever ben 10 has referenced Christianity it’s with characters that aren’t really related…except maybe azmuth when he likened ben to noah but it wasn’t in context with George.
Honestly UAF has some Christian elements. The fact they didn’t want magic to be real or that they retconned Gwen’s magic to just being Alien DNA. The omnitrix being “Noah’s Ark”. The story of st. george and the dragon. The belief in god. Chromostone (Sugilite) basically being Jesus Christ and with the second coming of him saving Petropia. It’s obvious the writers or Dwayne McDuffie was Christian.and that’s why McDuffie ruined Ben 10
@@Error_-ct2vp I wouldn't say Ruined but he did kind of throw a lot out and made it slightly more boring, I don't mind Chromastone being a part of Petropia but him being this big Savior of the planet and species feels weird, maybe he should've been an experiment or something that gained sentience, I do think Magic should've stayed a thing and they once again reconned it back into existence it's just that Gwen can now use Mana powers and Magic (Even though Mana is a type of Magic it's just life energy which is basically a way to say Magic has a limit and It's dependent on how much Mana you can harness)

But I think it'd be interesting if they illustrated how "different" Lucubra was, like the Ultimatrix trying to scan it only to go "Error!" or something. - I don't mind Chromastone flying, my personal theory is that with Sugilite released, it unlocked some hidden abilities within him. - So....Does this clarified what kind of metal NRG wears? - Demons, Zombies and Dimensions! - To think, all this trouble....and Lucubra is really like "an insect" to Dagon.
I mean, I don't think the Ultimatrix would even try to scan (the?) Lucubra. It goes "Uncatalogued DNA Detected" when it knows there's a DNA sample that it can scan. Then again, I like the idea of the Ultimatrix interacting weirdly with it. Hmm, how about the sample doing something like what Ra'ad did and making a Lucubra the only transformation shown on the dial or maybe even making Ben in all his forms vulnerable to control.

Your perspective on fans losing interest during this season and it having to do with the lack of focus and the quality of episodes is deffinitely true to some extent. To me, I think UAF hit a point of fatigue where the show started to feel very same-ey. As polarizing as Omniverse must have felt when it first premired, it helped freshen things up again and after 6 seasons of UAF, a shake-up to the formula was certainly welcomed.
I have say that I agree with you and kuro, I have many problems with Greg and Kevin arc but at last they are memorable but besides this I felt that UA are hard to watch entirely because I felt tired of watch boring concepts over and over and when comes a new thing (Dagon arc) with potential its not well executed in my opnion, at least the Gwen episode and the prisoner 775 episode are sweet
If I was writing season 3, I would’ve made three arcs since there were more episodes than the first two seasons. The first two arcs would’ve been continuation from the movies. Arc 1 would’ve been continued from Alien Swarm. Arc 2 would’ve focused on Eon and Ben 10,000, leading up to the Dagon arc.
Personally I do kinda like the Dagan arc, for like 9 seasons of the series they've tried and failed for one reason or another to do something with the knights, so now finally they get one big ambitious story arc dedicated to them and their history, uniting all of the different factions together under one banner. It has its ups and downs, but I still think it's fun, and George is cool, plus I like bringing in Azimuth again later
25:43 since the construction she made to seal it looked like old George's seal, I always assumed she just used Winston's notes along with her understanding of how the seal worked and what it said to try to mimick the same spell George used to seal dagon.
A potential idea for how the Knights could've been handled for Season 3. First and foremost, the Forever Knights have a clear purpose: To protect Earth from other worlds. They're a foil to the Plumbers, in that they want to protect their people, but the Knights deem all aliens to be evil, or at least not to be trusted. Team Tennyson is deemed as a threat to this goal, viewing them as an obstacle to their research and constantly undermining their efforts by allowing aliens to know of Earth and risk invasion. Just Ben alone is enough to have them worried. They've seen how cocky Ben can get, especially when fame gets to his head, and they're also paranoid that Ben doesn't have Earth's best interest at heart. One person should not be Earth's best defense. Still, the amount of encounters with Ben has resulted in less support, especially since they're seen as less than a joke. If it were up to me, the Knights by Season 3, or at least a faction that can either be newly formed or simply have been always there, would decide to take another approach to protecting Earth from aliens. They begin a more public cult. The Knights begin recruiting more everyday citizens and spread the word of how aliens are evil and we must defend ourselves. This eventually leads to them arming citizens and possibly the police with Alien Tech, arguing that they have a right to bear arms, regardless of who or what made it. However, the Knights don't give out weapons like candy. They only give them to folks who've earned the right to wield them in their eyes: folks who receive proper training and are willing to follow the Forever Knights. By the time the Dagon Arc begins, the Forever Knights have a few more numbers. Still, Sir Reginald manages to find a cave with the Forever Knight Symbol and believes it to house more alien tech, hopefully something that can make them as powerful as Ben. However, Winston is able to suspect the Seal's true nature, but is unable to translate enough or warn Sir Reginald before he opens it up. From there, the arc continues as it does… for now.
I think the Knight's anti-magic sentiment would have come across better if we saw them hoarding magical items more, like they attempted with that sword in classic, basically as the equivalent of Alien Tech. it also would have been nice to see them some standarized magic equipement in addition to alien tech as part of their normal gear and normal weapons. They certainly would seem more of a unique and legit thread that way.
It DOES feel like them relying on more magi-tech would be a better route for them to do. It at least fits their anti-alien viewpoint. Plus you could still have them as a decent threat even if they aren't THAT much of a threat. Like at the very least, they feel like they SHOULD be on par with an average Plumber. Just sort of an anti-alien extremist group. Because I do like the idea in concept, but a lot of the time the execution just feels cookie cutter and poorly done. Like honestly I don't remember if we even see any in Omniverse.

While I agree that this arc has its flaws, it will always be one of my favorite parts of Ben 10. Mainly because both it and Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated were my first introduction to lovecraftian horror.
In regards to Gwen’s “I felt a ripple in the mana” line; I could believe that being a thing. Think of it this way, using mana is like using a weapon, gun, bomb, what-have-you. Every weapon makes a sound, and has a shockwave. Every weapon varies in how far away you can hear and feel it, from close to far. Now, normal magic usage isn’t going to have much of a “ripple”. Magic users would only really be able to feel, say, lighting a candle if they were right next to it and that’s a moot point there. But on the other hand, say you cast a spell to completely erase a planet from existence, that’s going to cause a massive ripple, a shockwave, that can be felt quite a ways away. Essentially, magic makes waves when it’s used, it echoes its signature and that of its user, leaving a mark in the ambient mana that fades over time. Something big enough, whether a spell or a being, that shifts mana enough will be able to be felt by those sensitive to mana usage. This isn’t a thing limited to Gwen, and I don’t feel like it’s “just a random explanation”. It’s valid, and it’s been used by so many stories I can’t count.
A big change I'd make to this season is, and bear with me, make Gwen a target for the Dagon. I know the writers wanted Vilgax to be its host or whatever for the C'thulu parallel but he feels so tacked on and takes away attention from the Dagon and the Forever Knights. I think if they really built onto the lore around magic and had the Dagon seek a mortal host through Gwen then it add some personal stakes. Plus it create great tension between Ben and Kevin against Old George as George might be okay with killing Gwen to stop the invasion. Showing how Ben and Kevin remember last season and aren't gonna even entertain the idea of losing Gwen.
While the Ultimate Kevin, Aggregor and Highbreed arcs are tied for my favourites, I actually really like the Dagon arc, due to all the epic scale of it, some really good fights and even grand scale battles, Sir George being a cool character, Vilgax and the Forever Knights being more threatening again and Dagon being a really cool villain concept (and he actually does some pretty impressive things like enslaving all humans).
26:17 so its said that Lucubras feed on the part of your brain used for prayer and worship and then the mind control activates breefiy after he follows orders of his leader which may have some connections to worship. I think that's a nice touch
I actually liked the Dagon War Arc, in fact, I didn't even know it was divisive. Yes, I understand it has problems, like the use of demons, the underwhelming ending & the characterization of a returning Vilgax but, I just love an overarching storyline for Ben 10 UA. Lastly, Its use of the Forever Knights wasn't bad, they we're just on the mishandled side.
honestly I was too young to understand about storytelling and stuff when I watched this arc, but the scale of it had me really excited back then and I used to call it one of my favorites. Since you say it's has issues it'll be interesting seeing it again now through the breakdowns.
The Forever Knights becoming legitimate threats after being constantly portrayed as massive jokes is interesting to say the least it’s like reading a comic and having a d-list nobody actually be effective. Ben and Gwen taking pot shots at how many factions of the Knights there are is nice, they’re basically interchangeable. The Knights wouldn’t go to jail I think. Gwen using her powers for mundane stuff is nice to see. Cyrus loading his crossbow like a gun is so stupidly funny. Gwen not being the level headed one despite that how she’s normally portrayed is just characters acting different for the sake of drama I feel. Ben, Gwen and Kevin in the parking lot look more like characters from One Piece in regards to height. Kevin using his powers on other people was cool. The Wiggles bit was so random, funny but random. George having to walk all that way in slippers would’ve fucked up his feet so bad.
The one thing that made no sense to me about this arc is in Prisoner #775 is missing we get no repercussions for Rosum holding all those aliens prisoner, the only consequences we get is prisoner 775 tries to kill his family but that's it which is weird because of how much of a big deal Max was making it seem that Rosum broke all those galactic laws
I don’t think it’s relevant to this arc, since the prisoner story was a B-plot in that episode. Either way, I think Max alluded to the repercussions being on a planetary level, with Earth being liable for breaking some laws I can’t recall right now. Any repercussions Rozum would face would strictly be from the Plumbers, since I think Earth authorities are generally discriminatory towards aliens and so would probably defend Rozum’s actions. I wish we explored that instead of getting The Widening Gyre, but oh well.

I actually liked season three of ultimate alien and was obsessed with omniverse I really liked the art style change and thought the ultimate alien season finally was great
UA Season 3 made me drop the franchise back then, the lack of an storyline confused me and then when OV came i trought it was a reboot (cuz of the new art style and kid Ben) and because i din't see the end of UA where Ben gets the definitive Omnitrix
I respect the amount of lore this arc gives to the Forever Knights. I just wish Grandpa Max was involved in all the Dagon stuff. The fact that Max isn't even in the UA series finale is such a wtf.
To be honest the Niburu Entity from Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated was cooler. Also I imagine if Dagon had been resurrected somehow or saved for Omniverse, we’d likely have seen Ben use Alien X to fight him
Hell yeah the Nibiru Entity was really cool. Loved the homage to the original Scooby-Doo intro eyes, and its possession of Pericles was a really cool design.
Tbf we barely got to see much of the evil entities true form before he possessed Pericles. What he did to crystal cove once he was free was friggin awesome and terrifying! And he tied into mythology and irl conspiracies way better! It’s honestly a shame he’s not as remembered now that eldritch villains are rather common in kids shows…
Yea, I feel like if Dagon had returned atleast once it would have made him feel like a more legitimate threat, but the way it is he appears in like one episode and is defeated pretty easily I don't think Ben even fights his cool ass squid form, like c'mon I get it was probably easier to animate, but having Ben just fight a re-skinned Vilgax was lame. Introducing Ultimate Alien X or even just Alien X with the Sword against the Dragon himself would have been perfect for UA's finale, or atleast something more than Ben poking Dagon-Gax and winning in like less than a minute

It's from my understanding that the partial breaking of the seal of Daggon is such a large power breach that it'd affect the mana on a large enough scale to alert gwen and other mana beings/users like she does. Whereas with smaller scale/power things she'd need a stronger connection to who shes tracking/looking for.

YES!This episide might be one of my favorites in uaf! The lacubra at the very least might be one of my favorite monsters in ben 10 in general! so strong but with a creepy mind control abilities and a strange vaguely translucent form like some sort of amoeba. Something about how the red spots on it’s face look simultaneously like eyes and teeth are nothing short of amazing, something similar goes on with the high breed but it’s creepier on the lacubra in my opinion. We're here y'all. It's the Cthulu arc. The moment where the season villain that was built up and then, it turned out Vilgax is the Ultimate Alien Big Bad.

Honestly I really like this arc, behind Ult.Kevin it's my favorite one among Ultimate Alien's storyline, specially the ending. Of course, the battle with Vilgax could've been better? Indeed, but I still enjoy it a lot
What a ben 10 episode contains: 1) two of the main protagonists agree on an argument and the other disagrees at the beginning 2) Characters with great story telling loosing at the end lamely 3) Humongausaur and Swampfire 4) Gwen Does a new power only for one episode
This arc had so much potential. Warring factions, mind control, fictional gods and Cthulhu-esc characters. That’s my stuff! But the finale felt kinda weird, not gonna lie
You know a spinoff sequel where the protagonist is a member of the forever knights and at the same age as classic Ben would probably do very well especially if they go with the art style of classic Ben 10. Maybe then they can fix the Forever Knights reputation and expand upon them while also bringing back forgotten Ben 10 facets such as the mushroom people and the malicious weather machine. A powerset consisting of alien tech, psychic powers, and spiritual artifacts such as a lantern that draws friendly spirits and burns wicked ones would be quite interesting to see in action.
The beginning of the Dagon arc was my intro to Ben 10, so as I was going through Classic and the other seasons, I was excited for when this came around. Honestly one of my favorite arcs.
As for "didn't need to know where it came from", that's how it works in DND as well. You can banish any extradimensional creature to its home plane using the same Banishment spell.
I think the biggest problem with Ultimate Alien is that for three seasons since they only really railed out one Arc for one character and that one was for Kevin and the first art was building up to the second Ark! If only they wrote a Arc that was focused on Gwendolyn I think they might have done better Ben has enough story arcs to his name let the other two of the Stars! Especially considering Gwen's big episodes we're really like really short three-parters at best most often are not though they were one shots.
tbh I think the comment made by the knight at 8:39(about it being a friend of Ben's) is probably made in reference to the fact that Ben tries to defend all aliens(who are innocent) from the forever knights, who consider all aliens enemies. Basically, I think that's just the forever knight is seeing all aliens as friends of Ben seeing how often he defends aliens from them.
1:28 I guess I'm in the minority, but I actually feel like filler episodes interwoven with big story arcs actually help the pacing. I dunno, the whole point of these story arcs is that you have like villains lurking in the background, and this isn't something the hero can just solve in one go, it's taking them like months to uncover the full scope of the evil plot. I think adding filler episodes actually helps the audience immerse in the passage of time in the show, it actually feels like a large chunk of time is passing. A good example I can think of is that I like JoJo Part 3 and 4 way more than Part 5 and 6, because Part 5 and 6 are so focused on the main plot it feels like it's rushing, and these characters have only known each other for a week.

1- Sometimes. If the alien can regenerate, like Diamondhead, no. If it can't, like Clockwork, yes. 2- Not in full, but they definitely play with that concept in some ways. Yes there will be Omniverse Breakdowns.
I think they should have made the Forever Knights more like either the Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40k or the Brotherhood of Steel from Fallout to show just how far the Forever Knights are willing to go in the pursuit of their goals. I mean think about it the Forever Knights are pretty similar to both of them but I don’t think Cartoon Network would like the idea of the Forever Knights doing the same screwed up crap as the Imperium of Man but still you have to admit it would be kinda cool to see. Imagine you have a episode with a group of Forever Knights realizing how low they have fallen even since the Negative 10 incident and try to bring themselves back to the top and showing why they were once feared even if they would have to do things that would be too much even for Ben 10 standards
I definetly think they could’ve leaned a but more into the factionalism going on between the groups by giving them different armors and specialties. As that might be the best thing they got going for them compared to other recurring ben 10 villains. like maybe the one in AF was gearing up to specifically fight those space dragons, cyrus’s could be one that deals with mana based threats, enoch’s group could be more into covert government influence while thw forever king made it more into an alien tech snatching rachet.

It might be interesting if Armodrillo only morphing his head and not his body during the transformation was to imply he was some kind of cybernetic being that grows machinery around a smaller body? Like Vulkanus if the suit was something he grew out of himself. Also I think NRG with that guy’s voice is such an absurd combo that it works for me.

Yeah and in the Ben 10 Ice Berg Part 1, Kuro said something about making a video on AF Season 3 Original Plot when he has gathered enough information on that subject and that video is almost 2 years now so I'm wondering if more info has been discovered since that video dropped or we still have very little info.
Isn't Chromastone flying one of those powers that got retconned as a glitch in Omniverse? Basically, DJW's explanation was that the original Omnitrix and Ultimatrix had glitches in them that were giving some of Ben's transformations abilities they shouldn't have, like Way Big having super speed and Jetray being able to go into hyperspace.
I think this episode would've been way more flavourful is it was a different group of the Forever Knights who broke the seal and Sairus's gang, being relatively small but dedicated to ancient ways branch, just rolled out in response to the threat. This would've also explained Gwen easily sending lucubra back - knights gave her the necessary knowledge/sell as well and they could've told us some kind of vague legend about dagon and it's army of demons or something to hype him up. As usual, if only forever knights didn't suck.
1:05 personally it was a combination that and the fact the Ultimate Kevin arc had no lasting consequences. Even as a kid I was crying BS at everything going back to normal without issue
Maybe if the forever knights were done more like the Brotherhood of Steel from Fallout, different chapters having their own conflicts rather than trying to follow one goal with their own methods. Like the way the brotherhood in Fallout 3 is more open to interacting with outsiders than how stubborn the Mojave brotherhood chapter was and how it spawned inner conflict.

These three write our Ben 10 fanfictions and try to unite people who love Ben 10 even if they are not into Kuro's stuff. Muffin is the best of the three of us due to his clearer vision and determination to focus most of his free time at his projects.
I think the hatred towards magic is meant to be a reference to christian's hatred for witches back in the medieval era, since the knights are clearly from religious origin (the tale of saint george and the dragon IS a christian tale) and christians autorities hunted witches
Yeah, honestly If the censors allowed it One would expect much more religous references with the forever knights. Ironically whenever ben 10 has referenced Christianity it’s with characters that aren’t really related…except maybe azmuth when he likened ben to noah but it wasn’t in context with George.
Honestly UAF has some Christian elements. The fact they didn’t want magic to be real or that they retconned Gwen’s magic to just being Alien DNA. The omnitrix being “Noah’s Ark”. The story of st. george and the dragon. The belief in god. Chromostone (Sugilite) basically being Jesus Christ and with the second coming of him saving Petropia. It’s obvious the writers or Dwayne McDuffie was Christian.and that’s why McDuffie ruined Ben 10
@@Error_-ct2vp I wouldn't say Ruined but he did kind of throw a lot out and made it slightly more boring, I don't mind Chromastone being a part of Petropia but him being this big Savior of the planet and species feels weird, maybe he should've been an experiment or something that gained sentience, I do think Magic should've stayed a thing and they once again reconned it back into existence it's just that Gwen can now use Mana powers and Magic (Even though Mana is a type of Magic it's just life energy which is basically a way to say Magic has a limit and It's dependent on how much Mana you can harness)

I mean, I don't think the Ultimatrix would even try to scan (the?) Lucubra. It goes "Uncatalogued DNA Detected" when it knows there's a DNA sample that it can scan. Then again, I like the idea of the Ultimatrix interacting weirdly with it. Hmm, how about the sample doing something like what Ra'ad did and making a Lucubra the only transformation shown on the dial or maybe even making Ben in all his forms vulnerable to control.

Your perspective on fans losing interest during this season and it having to do with the lack of focus and the quality of episodes is deffinitely true to some extent. To me, I think UAF hit a point of fatigue where the show started to feel very same-ey. As polarizing as Omniverse must have felt when it first premired, it helped freshen things up again and after 6 seasons of UAF, a shake-up to the formula was certainly welcomed.

I have say that I agree with you and kuro, I have many problems with Greg and Kevin arc but at last they are memorable but besides this I felt that UA are hard to watch entirely because I felt tired of watch boring concepts over and over and when comes a new thing (Dagon arc) with potential its not well executed in my opnion, at least the Gwen episode and the prisoner 775 episode are sweet
If I was writing season 3, I would’ve made three arcs since there were more episodes than the first two seasons. The first two arcs would’ve been continuation from the movies. Arc 1 would’ve been continued from Alien Swarm. Arc 2 would’ve focused on Eon and Ben 10,000, leading up to the Dagon arc.
These are very cool ideias, i'm going to use in my rewrite of UAF
Personally I do kinda like the Dagan arc, for like 9 seasons of the series they've tried and failed for one reason or another to do something with the knights, so now finally they get one big ambitious story arc dedicated to them and their history, uniting all of the different factions together under one banner. It has its ups and downs, but I still think it's fun, and George is cool, plus I like bringing in Azimuth again later
25:43 since the construction she made to seal it looked like old George's seal, I always assumed she just used Winston's notes along with her understanding of how the seal worked and what it said to try to mimick the same spell George used to seal dagon.
It makes me chuckle that, knowing they're dealing with demons, Gwen decided to be merciful and send it home.
A potential idea for how the Knights could've been handled for Season 3.
First and foremost, the Forever Knights have a clear purpose: To protect Earth from other worlds. They're a foil to the Plumbers, in that they want to protect their people, but the Knights deem all aliens to be evil, or at least not to be trusted.
Team Tennyson is deemed as a threat to this goal, viewing them as an obstacle to their research and constantly undermining their efforts by allowing aliens to know of Earth and risk invasion. Just Ben alone is enough to have them worried. They've seen how cocky Ben can get, especially when fame gets to his head, and they're also paranoid that Ben doesn't have Earth's best interest at heart. One person should not be Earth's best defense.
Still, the amount of encounters with Ben has resulted in less support, especially since they're seen as less than a joke. If it were up to me, the Knights by Season 3, or at least a faction that can either be newly formed or simply have been always there, would decide to take another approach to protecting Earth from aliens.
They begin a more public cult. The Knights begin recruiting more everyday citizens and spread the word of how aliens are evil and we must defend ourselves. This eventually leads to them arming citizens and possibly the police with Alien Tech, arguing that they have a right to bear arms, regardless of who or what made it.
However, the Knights don't give out weapons like candy. They only give them to folks who've earned the right to wield them in their eyes: folks who receive proper training and are willing to follow the Forever Knights.
By the time the Dagon Arc begins, the Forever Knights have a few more numbers. Still, Sir Reginald manages to find a cave with the Forever Knight Symbol and believes it to house more alien tech, hopefully something that can make them as powerful as Ben. However, Winston is able to suspect the Seal's true nature, but is unable to translate enough or warn Sir Reginald before he opens it up. From there, the arc continues as it does… for now.
I think the Knight's anti-magic sentiment would have come across better if we saw them hoarding magical items more, like they attempted with that sword in classic, basically as the equivalent of Alien Tech.
it also would have been nice to see them some standarized magic equipement in addition to alien tech as part of their normal gear and normal weapons. They certainly would seem more of a unique and legit thread that way.
It DOES feel like them relying on more magi-tech would be a better route for them to do. It at least fits their anti-alien viewpoint. Plus you could still have them as a decent threat even if they aren't THAT much of a threat. Like at the very least, they feel like they SHOULD be on par with an average Plumber. Just sort of an anti-alien extremist group. Because I do like the idea in concept, but a lot of the time the execution just feels cookie cutter and poorly done. Like honestly I don't remember if we even see any in Omniverse.

While I agree that this arc has its flaws, it will always be one of my favorite parts of Ben 10. Mainly because both it and Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated were my first introduction to lovecraftian horror.
In regards to Gwen’s “I felt a ripple in the mana” line; I could believe that being a thing. Think of it this way, using mana is like using a weapon, gun, bomb, what-have-you. Every weapon makes a sound, and has a shockwave. Every weapon varies in how far away you can hear and feel it, from close to far. Now, normal magic usage isn’t going to have much of a “ripple”. Magic users would only really be able to feel, say, lighting a candle if they were right next to it and that’s a moot point there. But on the other hand, say you cast a spell to completely erase a planet from existence, that’s going to cause a massive ripple, a shockwave, that can be felt quite a ways away.
Essentially, magic makes waves when it’s used, it echoes its signature and that of its user, leaving a mark in the ambient mana that fades over time. Something big enough, whether a spell or a being, that shifts mana enough will be able to be felt by those sensitive to mana usage. This isn’t a thing limited to Gwen, and I don’t feel like it’s “just a random explanation”. It’s valid, and it’s been used by so many stories I can’t count.

A big change I'd make to this season is, and bear with me, make Gwen a target for the Dagon. I know the writers wanted Vilgax to be its host or whatever for the C'thulu parallel but he feels so tacked on and takes away attention from the Dagon and the Forever Knights. I think if they really built onto the lore around magic and had the Dagon seek a mortal host through Gwen then it add some personal stakes. Plus it create great tension between Ben and Kevin against Old George as George might be okay with killing Gwen to stop the invasion. Showing how Ben and Kevin remember last season and aren't gonna even entertain the idea of losing Gwen.
Honestly a final fight between Dagan!Gwen and Knight!Ben would have been more dope than the quickest Vilgax fight of the franchise

While the Ultimate Kevin, Aggregor and Highbreed arcs are tied for my favourites, I actually really like the Dagon arc, due to all the epic scale of it, some really good fights and even grand scale battles, Sir George being a cool character, Vilgax and the Forever Knights being more threatening again and Dagon being a really cool villain concept (and he actually does some pretty impressive things like enslaving all humans).

I actually liked the Dagon War Arc, in fact, I didn't even know it was divisive. Yes, I understand it has problems, like the use of demons, the underwhelming ending & the characterization of a returning Vilgax but, I just love an overarching storyline for Ben 10 UA. Lastly, Its use of the Forever Knights wasn't bad, they we're just on the mishandled side.

honestly I was too young to understand about storytelling and stuff when I watched this arc, but the scale of it had me really excited back then and I used to call it one of my favorites. Since you say it's has issues it'll be interesting seeing it again now through the breakdowns.
The Forever Knights becoming legitimate threats after being constantly portrayed as massive jokes is interesting to say the least it’s like reading a comic and having a d-list nobody actually be effective.
Ben and Gwen taking pot shots at how many factions of the Knights there are is nice, they’re basically interchangeable.

The one thing that made no sense to me about this arc is in Prisoner #775 is missing we get no repercussions for Rosum holding all those aliens prisoner, the only consequences we get is prisoner 775 tries to kill his family but that's it which is weird because of how much of a big deal Max was making it seem that Rosum broke all those galactic laws
Perhaps it was a setting up to omniverse where aliens live free with humans
I don’t think it’s relevant to this arc, since the prisoner story was a B-plot in that episode. Either way, I think Max alluded to the repercussions being on a planetary level, with Earth being liable for breaking some laws I can’t recall right now. Any repercussions Rozum would face would strictly be from the Plumbers, since I think Earth authorities are generally discriminatory towards aliens and so would probably defend Rozum’s actions. I wish we explored that instead of getting The Widening Gyre, but oh well.

Tbf we barely got to see much of the evil entities true form before he possessed Pericles. What he did to crystal cove once he was free was friggin awesome and terrifying! And he tied into mythology and irl conspiracies way better! It’s honestly a shame he’s not as remembered now that eldritch villains are rather common in kids shows…

Yea, I feel like if Dagon had returned atleast once it would have made him feel like a more legitimate threat, but the way it is he appears in like one episode and is defeated pretty easily I don't think Ben even fights his cool ass squid form, like c'mon I get it was probably easier to animate, but having Ben just fight a re-skinned Vilgax was lame. Introducing Ultimate Alien X or even just Alien X with the Sword against the Dragon himself would have been perfect for UA's finale, or atleast something more than Ben poking Dagon-Gax and winning in like less than a minute
This is already the last season of UAF. Time flys and omniverse is probably the last one kuro is gonna have a break down. Gonna miss this series

It's from my understanding that the partial breaking of the seal of Daggon is such a large power breach that it'd affect the mana on a large enough scale to alert gwen and other mana beings/users like she does. Whereas with smaller scale/power things she'd need a stronger connection to who shes tracking/looking for.
This is where I dropped out of the show too, but not due to the show itself, but my TV provider removing CN from their offer. Ever since I first heard about The Dagon arc in your summary, I was intrigued by its premise. I'm hyped for your upcoming breakdowns.

YES!This episide might be one of my favorites in uaf! The lacubra at the very least might be one of my favorite monsters in ben 10 in general! so strong but with a creepy mind control abilities and a strange vaguely translucent form like some sort of amoeba. Something about how the red spots on it’s face look simultaneously like eyes and teeth are nothing short of amazing, something similar goes on with the high breed but it’s creepier on the lacubra in my opinion. How lovely it is your covering this episode during the halloween season!

Honestly I really like this arc, behind Ult.Kevin it's my favorite one among Ultimate Alien's storyline, specially the ending. Of course, the battle with Vilgax could've been better? Indeed, but I still enjoy it a lot
What a ben 10 episode contains:
1) two of the main protagonists agree on an argument and the other disagrees at the beginning
2) Characters with great story telling loosing at the end lamely
3) Humongausaur and Swampfire
4) Gwen Does a new power only for one episode
And lasers, even if whatever creates it doesn't make complete sense

This arc had so much potential. Warring factions, mind control, fictional gods and Cthulhu-esc characters. That’s my stuff! But the finale felt kinda weird, not gonna lie

You know a spinoff sequel where the protagonist is a member of the forever knights and at the same age as classic Ben would probably do very well especially if they go with the art style of classic Ben 10. Maybe then they can fix the Forever Knights reputation and expand upon them while also bringing back forgotten Ben 10 facets such as the mushroom people and the malicious weather machine. A powerset consisting of alien tech, psychic powers, and spiritual artifacts such as a lantern that draws friendly spirits and burns wicked ones would be quite interesting to see in action.

The beginning of the Dagon arc was my intro to Ben 10, so as I was going through Classic and the other seasons, I was excited for when this came around. Honestly one of my favorite arcs.
The most anticipated part of every Ben 10 Breakdown is seeing what Kuro's hair will be like this week.

As for "didn't need to know where it came from", that's how it works in DND as well. You can banish any extradimensional creature to its home plane using the same Banishment spell.
It'd be neat if the Coin mirrored the Seal, so when they started cutting the Seal, the coin was getting damaged in the same way.

I think the biggest problem with Ultimate Alien is that for three seasons since they only really railed out one Arc for one character and that one was for Kevin and the first art was building up to the second Ark! If only they wrote a Arc that was focused on Gwendolyn I think they might have done better Ben has enough story arcs to his name let the other two of the Stars! Especially considering Gwen's big episodes we're really like really short three-parters at best most often are not though they were one shots.
tbh I think the comment made by the knight at 8:39(about it being a friend of Ben's) is probably made in reference to the fact that Ben tries to defend all aliens(who are innocent) from the forever knights, who consider all aliens enemies. Basically, I think that's just the forever knight is seeing all aliens as friends of Ben seeing how often he defends aliens from them.

I dunno, the whole point of these story arcs is that you have like villains lurking in the background, and this isn't something the hero can just solve in one go, it's taking them like months to uncover the full scope of the evil plot. I think adding filler episodes actually helps the audience immerse in the passage of time in the show, it actually feels like a large chunk of time is passing.
A good example I can think of is that I like JoJo Part 3 and 4 way more than Part 5 and 6, because Part 5 and 6 are so focused on the main plot it feels like it's rushing, and these characters have only known each other for a week.

1- Sometimes. If the alien can regenerate, like Diamondhead, no. If it can't, like Clockwork, yes.
2- Not in full, but they definitely play with that concept in some ways.

I think they should have made the Forever Knights more like either the Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40k or the Brotherhood of Steel from Fallout to show just how far the Forever Knights are willing to go in the pursuit of their goals. I mean think about it the Forever Knights are pretty similar to both of them but I don’t think Cartoon Network would like the idea of the Forever Knights doing the same screwed up crap as the Imperium of Man but still you have to admit it would be kinda cool to see. Imagine you have a episode with a group of Forever Knights realizing how low they have fallen even since the Negative 10 incident and try to bring themselves back to the top and showing why they were once feared even if they would have to do things that would be too much even for Ben 10 standards
I definetly think they could’ve leaned a but more into the factionalism going on between the groups by giving them different armors and specialties. As that might be the best thing they got going for them compared to other recurring ben 10 villains. like maybe the one in AF was gearing up to specifically fight those space dragons, cyrus’s could be one that deals with mana based threats, enoch’s group could be more into covert government influence while thw forever king made it more into an alien tech snatching rachet.
Whenever there's some sound edited over like in that NRG scene, that's always so enjoyable to have. Great job as always, keep it up!

It might be interesting if Armodrillo only morphing his head and not his body during the transformation was to imply he was some kind of cybernetic being that grows machinery around a smaller body? Like Vulkanus if the suit was something he grew out of himself.

Isn't Chromastone flying one of those powers that got retconned as a glitch in Omniverse? Basically, DJW's explanation was that the original Omnitrix and Ultimatrix had glitches in them that were giving some of Ben's transformations abilities they shouldn't have, like Way Big having super speed and Jetray being able to go into hyperspace.
I think this episode would've been way more flavourful is it was a different group of the Forever Knights who broke the seal and Sairus's gang, being relatively small but dedicated to ancient ways branch, just rolled out in response to the threat. This would've also explained Gwen easily sending lucubra back - knights gave her the necessary knowledge/sell as well and they could've told us some kind of vague legend about dagon and it's army of demons or something to hype him up.
As usual, if only forever knights didn't suck.

Maybe if the forever knights were done more like the Brotherhood of Steel from Fallout, different chapters having their own conflicts rather than trying to follow one goal with their own methods. Like the way the brotherhood in Fallout 3 is more open to interacting with outsiders than how stubborn the Mojave brotherhood chapter was and how it spawned inner conflict.
