    Thanks for this awesome video. Rancho Gordo, another golden nugget, nice one. You pointed out that Heirloom grow and keep seeds to protect the future of specific plants in this case beans, nice one. The Game Changers suggest the crops and water needed to sustain animals as food sources promotes more CO2 than humanity has managed by itself until now. It doesn't take a genius to see that climate change will effect the availability of edible crops, therefore it shows foresight to act as the people behind Heirloom have. Also many of my favorite chef's on UA-cam run their blender during videos and you can't hear a word their saying, so they could benefit big time from the cover you have on your blender. The 2 Esselstyn ladies on UA-cam run their video on quick speed and do pushups and star jumps as their blender operates thus circumventing the noise of the blender and giving the audience a giggle. Anyway, proud of ya. Keep up the good work, you're helping more people than you know. God bless.

    From a virgin vegan the nutritional yeast is an acquired taste. I found at first if I used some garlic hummus on a wrap or bun then sprinkled the yeast it helped the vegan cheese taste more cheesy. Now I am ready to make some cheese and sour cream of my own just waiting on my blender.

    Thank you for sharing this helpful info. I was wondering where do you buy your Medjool dates? Also, how long has your family been on the nutratarian diet? When you started eating like that, did you do it gradually or all at once? I am trying to get hubby on board and am trying to figure out the best way for him to not crave the bad foods. Thanks so much, I am learning so much from your videos and have watched several of them more than once. Linda Hardesty

      +craftoncue I get the Madjools at our local grocery store or at this restaurant supply store that is in our area. I had to get a membership there but so far it has been worth it. We have been nutritarians for 1 1/2 years now and we decided to do it all together, all the way from the beginning, even my two teenage daughters! It was a little challenging in the beginning but that is why we started the show. Every time we would figure out how to make a nutritious version of our favorite foods and treats, we just wanted to share it with the world! Our list of favorites is so long that we will surely never run out of new recipes to create!

    I just discovered something interesting about Braggs Liquid Aminos. It has more sodium than Lite Soy Sauce, and a little less than twice the protien. Per ml the nutrition information is this: Braggs: protein per ml: 0.10g Sodium: 64 mg. Lite Soy Sauce protein: 0.06mg ; sodium: 42g. It would seem that Soy sauce is a better alternative if you are trying to keep your sodium intake down.

I made your vegan jalapeno cheese today and it was a hit even though i had to finish it by whisking in the agar agar in a large bowl. I am ready to make the next step and invest in a proper blender. Thanks again. Tim.

    Hi Jill, I am a follower of Dr. Fuhrman's nutritarian lifestyle. I just came across your, yesterday. How, thankful, am I? :-) Anyway, I have a question about the nutritional yeast that you order from iherb. I know that Dr. Fuhrman recommends non fortified nutritional yeast. Can you please tell me for iherb's nutritional yeast is non fortified. Thanks so much for sharing all your excellent information. Additionally, your presentation is wonderful and so well organized. Thanks for info. I've found that the "raw" cashews one gets in health food stores are actually steamed. If you truly want raw, you can go here: Trulyrawfood.com. I also like to use Majool dates but I found a product at Middle Eastern stores called baking dates by ZIYAD that I like better and is cheaper. It's basically date paste which is very moist and stays good for many months in the pantry. You can get them on Amazon but they're more expensive.

    I looked up the sodium in Bragg's Liquid Aminos to compare with salt. Salt has 590 mg of sodium in a 1/4 tsp serving size. Bragg's has 160 mg of sodium in a 1/2 tsp serving size. If my math is correct, that means Bragg's only has 13.6% of the sodium content that salt does.

      Carob powder has a slightly similar taste to cocoa but has no caffeine, zero fat but tins of fiber. That would definitely make it healthier🤗

    Hi Jill, do you have an affiliate link for I Herb? I’d use it. I think it’s ok to be an affiliate and have web links with/for a company you truly use.

      Kaye Carpenter I have several Wincos near me and I shop there most of the time, but I have always wondered about the quality of their herbs and spices. I bought turmeric from my local health food store and the color, pungency and taste was quite a bit different than that from Winco. I dunno... I love that store but I would love to know about the quality.

    Cooking beans in tomatoes(or anything acidic) will make them take forever.

      cook the beans separately: add half tea spoon of baking soda to the water and let it boil - it will take quarter of the time.

    liquid amimo is MSG 😓

      11 - Do Bragg Liquid Aminos contain MSG?
      Bragg does not add any MSG to its liquid amino products. However, MSG is found naturally occurring in many foods, such as mushrooms, tomatoes, parmesan cheese, and soybeans. Since Bragg Liquid Aminos is made from soybeans, there can be some very small amounts of naturally occurring MSG. Patricia Bragg is personally very opposed to adding MSG as a food ingredient to foods, and she is very sensitive to MSG. Many of our customers who are very sensitive to MSG have never had any adverse reactions to Bragg Liquid Aminos.

    I don't get it. Why you don't use salt or oil? it's good for your health and it's vegan...

    • @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow
      @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow  8 років тому +2

      I follow Dr Fuhrman's recommendations. His studies show that we consume 5-10 times the amount of salt that is required. Yes, our bodies need sodium but the amount is very small and we get more than enough in natural sources like vegetables.
      It is the same for oil. Our bodies cannot process the amount of oil that most people get in their diet. Nuts and seed have the kinds of oil that is healthy for us because it comes inside a whole food source.
      If you would like to read more about the actual research, I would suggest reading Eat to Live by Dr.Fuhrman. It is very informative.

    • @alfistibrasiliani
      @alfistibrasiliani 8 років тому

      ok.
      But I must say this: salt greatly improves the taste of any kind of food. And you know, taste is something that we vegans don't get with every meal... do you know Himalayan Salt? it's a pink one and it has 50% less sodium than regular white salt. And one other detail: himalayan salt contains 88 kinds of minerals, which is a good thing for our health.
      Oils: unfortunately, nuts like almonds and walnuts are way too expensive in my country, therefore I can't eat them everyday. Instead, I put olive oil in almost everything that I eat, it tastes good and it's very healthy. Coconut oil is good too. Do you use coconut oil? Avocado oil is a powerful one as well...
      this concept of "Our bodies cannot process the amount of oil that most people get in their diet" is relative, because every diet is very personal and can vary a lot. But I understand what you wrote, Dr. Fuhrman is not wrong.
      p.s.: do you know anything about germinated seeds? It's a "super food"!

    • @LarryRichelli
      @LarryRichelli 6 років тому

      Wow, these oils are just bad for you. Whole foods...eat the avocado not the oil, eat the coconut, not the oil. To say oil is healthy is crazy!
