This...perfectly sums up TCW and the shows it coexisted with un-ironically, intentionally or not. Kids Shows had more overall quality in that time period, and even more quality in the time before Clone Wars.
Rebels just couldn't decide if it wanted to be sequel to clone wars or a Saturday morning cartoon for little kids. Either one would've been fine but at least choose
It’s a Series where it’s nice to watch the great clips but not binge the entire series. the last like 5 episodes which were really good but some episodes especially season one were kinda ehh to forgettable
You can tell exactly how good Rebels COULD have been, too. The final scene between Maul and Kenobi is pure cinema, and the fight between Ahsoka and Vader is amazing and emotionally packed to the brim (as long as they aren't cutting back to the annoying main characters, that is). It just goes to show how good of a writer Filoni is when he's simply allowed to work
@@DillsyYourDaddy67 I dont fully agree on the whole Rebels boycott a lot of fans seem to have but i do agree on one thing. There was a lot of room to make it better. The fact that we dont see onscreen deaths is more of an inconvienience than a problem, And it's purely something fans picked up to hate on just beacuse Clone Wars had deaths. So i dont think it would be even possible to change that considering this show was running on Disney XD . I feel like in a lot of ways this show is exactly like the prequel trilogy. You can just see the potential, you can see all the great ideas, but they lack in execution. Only this time it's only slightly better, some of them were pulled off in a great way and some of them are kinda bland or just too much. I'd love to see Rebels being shown from a more worse side than we usually see in the movies. I'd want them to adress the issues of killing sometimes and entire fucking cruiser full of people without any hesitation. To show that they arent really the good guys either, just as Empire isnt as bad either. Irl as far as im aware Rebel groups in Africa especially are often seen as nothing more than just a bunch of brutal terrorists. I'd want to see that. Instead what we got is Saw Garrera being scholded for being "too radical" . Scholded mind you by a fucking Mandalorian and a Jedi that at this point contributed in murdering thousands of people on various cruisers and ships they destroyed. Yet they schold him beacuse he's just beating someone up? Yeah no that is the real problem. It lacks the depth it could have. In a perfect world Garrera could be scholded by someone who didnt commited mass genocides and murders. Then it would work perfectly but oh well. Tl ; DR : i like this show, but i do recognize it's actual flaws. and i see those repeating arguments like "bad artstyle" "no deaths grrr" and "show is for kids i hate it" as nothing more than petty and stupid argumentation.
Lanxerun you put that perfectly, wow I don’t even get the art style argument, I find it pretty nice besides a few proportion issues and whatever the hell they did to some of the perspectives on the loth-wolves
@@glassbirds The whole artstyle argument is completly subjective to begin with, with few exceptions which everyone seems to agree on like Anakin Skywalker's portrayal. I honestly havent met a single person that would actually defend that, hell i dont even defend it, i wouldnt call them lazy if they would just use the model they used for his season 7 appearance in Clone Wars.
Do you remember when that Shark Guy in the Water war arc stabbed 6 people with dagger bombs and then they all exploded into a cloud of blood on camera and then a minute later the Shark Guy also gets blown up into a cloud of blood and we see his decapitated head floating by the camera? That was gross lol what the fuck
I think the scene that best sums up the kiddyness and refusal to acknowledge darkness of rebels was the scene where Sabine THOUGHT the dutchess killed her mother and brother. Enraged and sickened that her own creation is responsible for the death of her family, she flys into a blind rage and..... disarms the nearest stormtroopers by cutting their blasters in half. She doesnt stab or decapitate them. She disarms them. This is the perfect situation to allow a main character to go a bit dark and have some depth, but no.
The showrunners were afraid to go there but the writers wanted to so badly. Rebels is a show that always hurts me because you know how good it could be and sometimes it manages to but then it holds itself back because of the Disney policy... Damn it, Disney. It could have been so much more than what it ended up being.
@Pedro Ortega Like, I am really not left but something about big companies with monopolistic ambitions really gets my blood boiling and Disney is no exception from this rule. Like, they take _anything_ and turn it into this soulless, bland mix that just cute. I mean, I get it with some of their products but they are turning culture into cuteure and as someone that loves good stories - this stuff doesn't cut it for me. Like, what's next? Disney Shakespeare? When does this end...
Lets be honest it was other factors aswell including, - Ugly downgraded Animation. - Cookie cutter plot lines. - Childish fan fiction writing and conclusions. - Annoying main characters. - The miss-representation of the empire. - Thrawn being brought back but only to be wasted and as a shadow of what he was in legends. - Thin lightsabers. - Not showing that much of how the actual rebellion was built. - Filler episodes. - Ezra Bridger. - PLOT ARMOUR. Okay maybe alot of reasons.
@@Manglet762 Fair enough TCW has plot armor too but it didn't harm the show as much. Sure some characters were not allowed to die but the only character the plot armor really harmed was General Grevious.
ok, let's go through one at a time: - Animation: they tried to base the animation off of concept art from the movies and while that is commendable, that art really doensn't look good in 3D motion. - Plot: what did you expect? it wanted to be a saturday morning cartoon - Writing: again, Saturday morning cartoon - Main Characters: man they were bad, only good ones were Kanan and Herrah (also fuck Ezra) - Empire: not just the empire in general, every villain is incopetent to no end. just look at the inquisitors that replaced the Grand Inquisitor, or should I say Imperial Team Rocket. - Thrawn: no argument there, poor bastard. - Lightsabers: also from the concept art but those were just unconfortable to look at, like they were trying to slash someone with a rapier. - Rebellion: well ain't that just peachy, a series about the rebellion not showing anything about said rebellion. - Filler: Yep. - Ezra: and the prize for worst character in Star Wars goes to... this kid! for stealing the focus from every tense scene in the series! PLOT ARMOR: be honest, did you really expect anyone from the team not to succeed? or for anyone besides Kanan to die? Ezra is the protag, Sabine is the writers' pet, Zeb and Chopper are comic relief and Herrah is in Rogue One, there was no way for any of them to not have plot armor.
How to neutralize an enemy in: The Clone Wars: shoot, slash, stab, punch the enemy until they are either knocked out or dead Rebels: *SLASH THE BARRELS OFF THE GUNS AND WATCH THEM FALL TO THE GROUND FROM 0 INJURY TO THEM*
It got to the point where I’m not even exaggerating, a Mando just tapped the helmet of 2 stormtroopers and they just died I’m actually not exaggerating, it really was as soft as a tap,
I saw it different. To me, I don't think Kanan and Ezra liked to kill stormtroopers unless they actually had to. At least that's what I tell myself in the head to justify it lol but it does make sense. Throughout the first 3 movies, we mainly saw jedi slicing through droids and not killing beings
@@243Abolerz Jedi maybe, but clones no. Remember the arc dealing with peace negotiations and Mina Bonteri? According to Bonteri, clones attacked and killed her husband and others.
The Bad Batch: stun, stun, stun. OMG, I don't know if this is Disney's doing with the writing, but they have to get those blasters for the Bad Batch off of stun. I mean, the people who really want to watch the show already saw countless deaths from a variety of means in TCW.
Clone wars just had so much grit, like 501st killing 212th, favorite characters constantly getting killed, showing effects the war has on different characters like anikan or the clones getting more serious and morbib throughout the seasons. They added personality to the clones who in the movies minus Cody had none or didn't display it, it showed how they were all the same but different and made order 66 more heartbreaking or made it more understandable It wasn't even stupid violent or gorey. Just the way it was portrayed and written really just expressed what the clone wars and war were like
Start wars rebels: attempts to be family friendly Is a show about terrorism Also rebels: *Muders hundreds of Stormtroopers who for sometimes is voice by Steve blum*
Actually, one of the things that annoys me is how inconsistently they kill or don't kill people. Lots of times, you'll see stormtroopers who got shot in the chest are still moving, clearly alive. For a while, Ezra only uses a stun pistol. Most of the time, they prefer to knock troopers out rather than killing them. I don't think Kanan or Ezra ever kill or dismember anyone with their lightsabers. But anyone with a face is off limits (most of the time). For some reason, Sabine can't find it in herself to kill Gar Saxon, despite the obvious threat he poses, and despite their having already killed several Imperial Mandalorians in that episode (although it was actually other Mandalorians who killed them in that instance, but the rebels didn't complain about it). There are lots of times when they blow up whole ships or facilities with lots of people in them. Sometimes, they stun people and then leave them on a ship to be blown up. I just can't figure out whether these rebels actually have a problem with killing people or not.
@@5h0rgunn45 yeah like in the first episode in season 3 (I think) they were going to steal some y wings on a station that was destroying them, and Ezra shuts down the power in order to unlock the y wings, but that causes the whole station to go boom, he gets out, but the thing is he stunned 2 stormtroopers in the control room and you can even see them still stunned as he leaves, so those dudes are dead lol, unlike other people in the station that you could say had a chance to get out
@@5h0rgunn45 The stormtrooper armour is apparently extremely good, so even though a blaster might dump a lot of energy into the target, the victim of the shot might be down because the shot didn't actually kill them; the armour did it's job, but the sheer force behind the bolt knocked them down.
Dude look at the Lion King. Scar got eaten by the hyenas at the end. The rating for that movie is G. And you saw Mufasa's dead body and little Simba snuggle up against it. Again. The movie is rated G.
@@thecommander1668 I was heartbroken when he died too. Which I think is a brilliance of Clone Wars. A lot of people treat the clones like organic droids. Whereas the Jedi see the clones as living beings with their own personalities and desires. They aren't just numbers. They have names. They are more than just beings bred for war.
I also like to mention that in clone wars the villains were capable of doing their job. Kalani is a good example. Yes he lost the war but we still see him as a competent, scarey and likable character. The things he does go hand to hand on what he is a Super Tactical Droid smart, cold, ruthless and loyal to Doku. There are many videos about the villains in clone wars meanwhile all I found on Rebels villains was Thrawn(Vader doesn't count with his little screentime). Guess many people agree that the villains in Rebels aren't great or likeable? Not to mention the battle droids they are comic relief but when it came to it they did their job and they did it as good as they could.
I think you are right, but I want to add, that Grievous in Clone Wars was (in my opinion) also meant to deliver comical relieve, there is this Star Wars Cartoon from 2000 and something where Grievous is finally shown how he was meant to be feared, competent and able to match a bunch of Jedi masters + padawans.
DayDreamer- What about LT-319 in rebels, he was good in that one episode then never seen again. Faceman MC- I agree but there are a few episodes where they show Grievous well, lair of grievous and Grievous Intrigue. When they catch him off guard and he tears through the clones with his bare hands.
Rebels was more based on Ralph Mcquarrie's concept art, which is why the lightsabers are thinner, the stormtrooper masks look so strange and people's faces are more slanted
The animation in rebels was much better. Everyone moved is realistically. The only problem I have with it is that everyone has to move their head a lot every time they spoke
Clone Wars had Long arks , Serious moments and brings back and introduces characters that are important and have a Backstory, General Grievous , Ashoka , Younglings, Captain Rex ,Ventress , Sav-age Opress and the Sith Lord, Maul. Rebels had one shots of minor stories and the only best parts of rebels was with Clone Wars characters. Also Ezra is if Anakin only complained and had 5% of his power.
*had long arcs, serious *brought back and introduced (to keep verb tense consistent with "had") *characters that were important and had (again, to keep verb tense consistent) *backstory: General Put spaces after commas and not before them. *Savage *best parts of Rebels were (because "parts" is plural) *Also, Ezra is like if Anakin
They killed quite bit, like I remember the first scene of season 3 is ezra straight up shooting a stormtrooper for the first time with an actual blaster, not a stun gun. The inquisitor also decapitates those imperial officers in season one. I agree they do force push them away a bit too much for my liking though.
@@theccarbiter not only that but what annoyed me more was how like kanan has a lightsaber put only seems to use it to block blaster bolts ezra has a lightsaber and does the same thing and basicly the only way they take out enemys is by pushing them 1 meter away and then all out of a sudden they are knocked out for the rest of their mission
I feel like Rebels could have expanded the theme of Rogue One where the rebels had a darker side to them and there were many gray areas. I would have also liked to see more of Saw’s renegades.
This whole video basically says "Cuz Disney no dark or expansive". Disney has let Star Wars get dark outside the core series. I didn't particularly enjoy Rogue One but nobody can deny they didn't let the writers show the dark side of what until then had been widely portrayed as the pure white knight good guys. Then of course we got The Mandalorian and even more recently The Book of Boba Fett. Sure there are some Disney moments in all of them but there's no denying Disney is more than willing to let things get dark. I think what people forget is all of these weren't just made by "Disney", they were made by very separate writers and production teams and those in charge might as well be as different from one another as to be from different companies altogether. That said I think Rebels was ALWAYS intended to be a young kids show and Clone Wars fans just got mad they didn't get more of what they loved. Plus they've connected several of the series now, I suppose you could argue Disney "learned their lesson" but I'd suggest the above is more likely
The biggest problem with Rebels is that is was aired on Disney's tv channels which typically do not have dark or mature themes in them. Most of the problems with Rebels can be traced back to having to be aimed at a younger audience than The Clone Wars as well as having a smaller budget for some strange reason considering it's Disney. The animation which is the most obvious issue had to be changed to account for the smaller budget, and then the story was never allowed to go as far as TCS did because it would go into teen or adult level content. Maul's death is the greatest example because the lack of any visible damage undermines the whole scene which was brilliantly designed with callbacks & is an amazing character moment. Maul looks like he gives up after his lightsaber is cut in half and makes the viewer think "Wait what just happened?" Instead of piecing together how Obi-Wan baited Maul into doing the same move that killed Qui-Gon. Had the show been allowed to go darker or was made today for Disney+, it could've been a way better show that may have been on par or possibly even better than TCS. However as for what we got, The Clone Wars is a great show to watch in full while Rebels is a great show to watch in clips.
I’m sorry but there is no way it would ever be better than the Clone Wars. The main issues for me were most of the character, lack of consistent serious tone, and story-telling. You fix those and it’s maybe on the same level as the Clone Wars. Still a pretty small era to throw it up against the clone wars.
I disagree with one thing you said. For me, the clone wars is way better, but it's fine to watch clips, and if I understand what you meant, which I'm not sure about, if I was watching them, I would probably choose to watch the clone wars out of the correct order, whereas in rebels, it is a continuous story. The stories aren't as good, and there are other problems, but I wouldn't watch it out of order. I would skip some episodes, expecially the first season, but I would watch them in order
I’m sorry but zeb is nowhere close to the comic relief at least in my opinion, in his scenes I never laughed but that doesn’t mean no one laughed, so in my opinion zeb is annoying
@@rowanreid836 there was one but I forgot their name right now. They talked about how he was going to accept and sponsor them, but when he realized the trashy script they gave him (the script every youtuber has to follow when making a raid shadow legends ad) and saw how bad the game is, he refused. I think the youtuber was "Act Man" but I might be wrong. Anyways bye, have a beautiful time!
@@ilikepigeons6101 It doesn't feel like Star Wars though. It feels like well...a Disney XD cartoon that has an art style that's so bad it could cause seizures.
And that’s why I hate Disney, they care too much about their “image” they don’t let their movies, shows, writers etc to take risks and their movies get boring and bland
And heavily unimaginative, unimpressive or even decent. To this day... like Rogue One is about the only thing SW Disney I hear consistently good things about
Connor Griffiths I don’t really think it was all, or even mostly Disney. You can still make a good series without excessive violence. I’m not against violence in story telling, but it’s just one means of presenting drama out many others. A lot of the fighting and stuff is rebels is bland, yes, but the thing that annoyed me was the poor and stunted storytelling. For example the lack of capitalizing on the drama of Captain Rex and clones in general, Ezra’s wishy washy character, the repetition of plot points, the writing, and the lack of stakes.
I second that. I liked Rebels too, but they cut it way too short when they ended it with the third season. The third season was finally willing to actually explore real tragedy and then it ended. The show had it's moments for sure; like the tale Sabine told when training with the darksaber. I wish it had more of those moments and embraced a more Empire Strikes Back, Battle of Hoth tone.
I think the saddest part is that Rebels really does have its good moments, but they're all tied to the clone wars. All the best parts of it that people name, Rex coming back and being retconned onto Endor, Ahsoka vs Darth Vader and Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul, all of them are just loose ends from the clone wars being tied up. It's almost like the writers didn't even want to be in the original trilogy, they just wanted to get back to the prequels.
Sam Watson-Tayler - everything with Thrawn, Bendu, Ezra dabbling in the Dark Side and ultimately growing into a leader was great stuff that didn’t derive from the Clone Wars series. They also delivered arguably the best version of Vader (as Clone Wars gave us the best version of Anakin), and the fight with Ahsoka was just a natural and necessary part of it. But even aside from the duel with Ahsoka, everything with Vader in Rebels was top notch.
@@DMisigoy To be fair, Thrawn was pulled from the comics that already existed up to that point, and from what I've heard, was pretty watered down as well.
@@samwatson-tayler2805 and to be fair, it was those carry over moments from the Clone Wars that got me to give this show a second chance in the first place.
@@samwatson-tayler2805 I would recommend giving the show another shot. It's not bad by any means, and I do feel that there's plenty you'd enjoy in the later seasons. If you have Disney+ already, it's there on their line-up, so I don't see a reason to not give it a go. I decided it wasn't of interest to me the first time I started watching it too, but I gave it a second chance recently, and despite some minor gripes here and there, I've really been enjoying it.
@Lionard Kirsch I definitely think tcw has some of the best moments in star wars history and it's without a doubt the best tv series in the franchise (until the mandalorian and kenobi surpass it) but I also think it's extremely overrated and has a great deal of flaws that no one points out or likes to talk about.
My problem with rebels is that it didn’t take itself seriously. There were few meaningful characters outside the main group, few grand space battles, no spectacle ground battles, no meaningful or impactful deaths. It was too sanitized, too childish and didn’t demonstrate the horror of the empire. As Geetsly said, clone wars allowed itself to explore concepts rebels wouldn’t dare touch.
The amount of time the rebels won with no real price was just cringe to watch, the Empire was a push over, even Thrawn was, yes he talked a good game but in the end he was always beaten by the rebels anyway.
@@RomanHistoryFan476AD Your so right. It was actually painful to watch them succeed so many times with out losses. Sure, they won a few times with casualties, but they were minimal. That's one of the main reasons me and quite a few other fans of the show just completely stopped watching it after season 2. It had potential, but it fell flat on it's ass because of this reason and many others.
@@yosemiteyosemi488 thank god you did not see season three or four then, the show goes even worse in this direction even Thrawn is not spared from Imperial stupidity an failure, he sounds impressive and makes great speeches but he also never succeeds. I will be honest here when Vader turned up the ghost crew should have been dead, if things where realistic.
@@RomanHistoryFan476AD well that's the thing, is that i did see some of 4... I truly and deeply am disappointed by it. The show ruined Maul, Thrawn, and Vader. I mean... WTAF???? IT'S THRAWN!!! There's no WAY he's that naive and stupid. Sure he's a little arrogant at times, but not RETARDED! And Vader.. My GOD Vader! He wasn't even fully dark for Christ sake! He was just all *oooh look I'm just gonna swing my light saber at you for a couple of minutes*(except for that scene with Ashoka and Vader... that was kinda cool... a little) Every time I saw those three, I just was sickened. Oh but the big grand shitshake with a cherry on top, the evil scheme of all things I hated the most out of the show...was Ezra. I fucking hate Ezra. The entire show he's just like *Whats this? Whats that? Whats this? Whats that? Whats this? Whats that? *. He was like that at first, and I even thought he was just that momentarily like Ashoka (when she acted that way as a kid) But NOPE! 4 shit seasons of having to deal with this annoying little bastard that inserts him into every fucking thing. Oh and the worst part about it is that Ezra even "ages" throughout the series and shows absolutely NO signs of maturity what so ever. Same with Sabine ( which I believe the way they BOTH act, Darth Jar Jar may or may not have force inserted his sperm into two females... those being Sabine and Ezra's moms [Duh]). Anyways, sorry to puke that all out on to you.
They did try, they did whatever they could to make a good show and still make something disney approves, but disney held them back, many people like the clone wars because no one could hold them back, they were free to do whatevs, rebels had the potential to be better than the clone wars but disney held them back from doing so
Ryan Orth yah, but again, you can’t lay it completely on Disney. There are plenty of shows, even by Disney themselves that don’t need ultra violence to make a good story. Gravity falls for example. I think it partially has to do with the creative team not experimenting with what they could do in their restrictions. A big problem with Rebels is its repetition. The gang has to sneak in or do something against the empire, the plan falls apart, but in the end it all succeeds. Similarly a lot of characters have a messy story line, and there is little setting development outside the main crew. Most of these things I do not think are a direct result of Disney, but of a failure on the staffs part to make good with what they had. None of the above things require extra violence, just a better script.
Fives, Jesse, Tup, Waxer, Boil, Echo, 99, Heavy, Hardcase, and so many more. All of rebels main character deaths are offscreen. Heavy, Hardcase, amd Jesse despite not seeing them die(because they all died in explosions they were still emotional as flip dude. I cried when Jesse and Hardcase died those 3 sacrificed themselves for their brothers and were some of my favorite characters. All the stormtroopers don't count btw those are faceless characters. Edit: There was also a couple during the assault on Kamino and on the Ryloth ark, but I don't remember their names
Disney:you like being boxed in with a lot of restrictions and PG. Rebels writers:oh god no.🙄 Clone wars: SCREW THAT WE'RE GOING DARK all the way. (Season 7 hype)
I’m really afraid for season 7 because of rebels. I didn’t know they had that kinda stuff in them, that Disney would force them into that. I just think that times have changed now and I’m worried that season 7 will mirror rebels.
Dark Gamer mostly due to the fact it had George Lucas’s Funding in its pocket, Rebels had no such funding therefore the animation wasn’t as timeless and quite cheap in comparison-well not as cheap as resistance but still cheap.
ANTHONY THOMAS Your opinion is noteworthy, but realistic animation wasn’t the goal of Clone wars. It’s goal was to entertain and tell a captivating story of a galaxy wide war. The animation despite not looking “Realistic” expresses the actions and thoughts of the characters much more clearly, adding on also having fluid movement and iconic lightsaber duels. Rebels had this to some extent as well but was held back by the macquarrie art style that would’ve been better suited to a 2D format and would’ve avoided the poor animation Quality.
@@justinbebsmus121 no I disagree with u I think the clone wars graphics were actually good the graphics weren't that bad it was very good for a year like 2014 I forgot the release date but it think it's 2008 but I think it was good for a animation from years ago
I liked it when Ezra started experimenting in the dark side. Then they just kind of pretended those episodes never happened. Why would a kid who just saw he could be way more powerful just be like, everyone says my new powers are bad even though i can easily fight our enemies now. (Yeets holocron off cliff.) don't need it.
That's the main problem with Rebels in my opinion. They have lots of good ideas, but none of them are ever fully developed. Heroes of Mandalore? Good idea, never fully developed. Ezra flirting with the dark side? Good idea, never fully developed. Zeb one of the few survivors of a genocide? Good idea, never fully developed. An imperial officer thinking back to the things he's done for the Empire and having second thoughts? Good idea, never fully developed.
The best parts of the show didn’t include the main characters, but the characters from the clone wars and the oringinal trilogy. Like Rex and the old clones, as well as Hondo and Ashoka
I couldn't get enough of Hondo. That guy was absolutely hilarious. Reminded me of the original trilogy, with over-the-top, humorous characters like Han Solo.
It also has to do with how "Cookie-Cutter" most of the main characters were in that they take only one surface level trait from the Original Trilogy Cast: "Sarcastic Funny Droid", "Big Surly Alien", "Jedi Mentor", "Pilot", and "Main Character" as all part of "The Crew". The show could have easily benefited from less focus put on one singular group that seemingly is able to get all of the shit needed to start the Rebellion done done, I would have loved it instead that the story was told like _The Clone Wars_ was as an Anthology: where we can shift our attention and divide it between multiple groups of people all doing different things at the same time, and on occasion interact with other groups sometime later.
The only times I liked rebels is when old characters returned like maul,ahsoka,obi-wan,vader,Rex etc the new characters for the most part where really bland especially Ezra
You really like how they showed Rex? Turning from the guy that is meant to lead, always to count on and savage turning into a fatass with beard? I literally lost it when I saw the rebels version of him first
OldMan Wayne I do know this of course but don’t even try arguing that he was interpreted good by Disney. He is like a complete other person there. I remember the moment my dad and I watched rebels (because we like to build our own opinion on things) and then they introduced Rex... My father couldn’t stop laughing and I couldnt even laugh I was just disappointed and sad.
MR SMIGLY Rebels had me a little concerned at the start, But the second they brought in the Inquistors, Then had Tarkin kill two people I went; Okay. This show is going to be worth it.
watched Resistance all the way through. It had a few decent-to-good episodes towards the end of each season, and right when it began getting even remotely good like Rebels S1, it ended.
I watched "resistance" and it was all.. "meh". THe idea of a station capable of traveling in hyperspace as a ship is neat though. Means you would be able to build a generic station structure at a regular shipyard, and it could move itself to its destination. And most worlds suitable for human life have oceans...or it could be used as a regular space station. Some of the racing ships were neat...but notice how I have literally mentioned literally none of the main characters.
Ezra ruined it for me. I found his personality annoying af, which impacted a lot of scenes such as the Darth Vader vs Ashoka scene and the whole Twin sun's episode. I also found him to be hypocritical and unnecessary in alot of episodes/adventures.
Fucking thank you. Holy shit, I can’t stand him. I hate it when people say “He changes” or “He’s an amazing character” hell no. He’s by far my least favorite character, he annoys the absolute hell out of me. Rebels is way too overrated
@@angryt-rex6916 someone else! Thank you so much! Ezra is the most insufferable character to blight Star Wars. His existence cheapens everything! To me Ezra is the manifestation of Disney as a whole into an awkward character who is stuck in a universe he doesn't belong in.
@@ryanconner6364 to you he’s an amazing character. But those people who actually realize that he’s still an annoying piece of shit know that he’s fucking worthless. Well, that tends to be how politics go in the end. What is right, what is wrong? What should you do or avoid doing, and why? For who? For what cause? What ends justify the means? Philosophy is an understanding of ones own values, politics is not too dissimilar. I kinda liked it though, it was all for the story. As geetsly said, politics was the core of the story, but I think the big difference from Clone wars and say...rebels or other movies, is that politics was the core of the story, but NOT it's intention, and I think that's an important difference.
Yeah, nothing more philosophical than Meebur Gascon riding around in droids for 5 episodes...people forget all the flaws when there’s something newer to criticize.
James Suhr - nah, it’s just a video saying that Rebels sucks when it doesn’t. I love the Clone Wars series, but it had its flaws that everyone likes to forget that when attacking rebels for some reason. No one remembers the filler episodes or the arcs that went on for two or three episodes longer than they should have.
Dylank001 1. Kanan, Gregor, Minester Puo and Commander Sato all died. 2. That’s because it’s a different style. Most TV shows are just one story, so you can’t really call that a complaint.
I enjoyed rebels for how they showed the Jedi following order 66. I liked that Rex was brought into it and I also liked the tie in of the mortis gods, specifically the world between worlds episode. Don't get me wrong, clone wars is definitely my favorite, but rebels did a lot of good things too.
@@toxdawn8246 I liked rebels because many clone wars characters returned in rebels like ahsoka , rex , wollfe, Gregor, maul , bo katan , hondo, yularen, saw gerrera , chan syndulla, gobi ,numa The return of the darksaber Or the canon introduction of thrawn or what happened with the super tactical droid from kalani Onderon
I always remember the episode Rookies from season 1. Heavy's death really stuck with me as a kid. One second we saw him alive and then he was just gone. Sacrificing himself to save everyone. It really opened my eyes on what it meant to serve in the military. Rebels never gave me that feeling. Even when a major character died.
Thank you for mentioning that Lucas has talked about how the Empire is supposed to be representative of the United States during the Vietnam War. That's something I often see left out of commentary. The added context adds in a lot more meaning and really helps deliver on one of Star Wars' core messages, anti-imperialism.
irfan ismail Which shows that nobody likes stories because that's where all that money comes from. People who don't like stories. It's not like you just make money by just creating something, then it would've failed. It makes me wonder what makes Rebels so popular over The Clone Wars. Money means success, so these cartoons were much more successful over the previous. It's just stating the obvious. To most the movies that make more are better and it's just a fact, but I'm not trying to attack or defend anyone, I'm just stating facts.
This show takes place during an era where an oppressive totalitarian government reigns, powerful super soldiers hunt down survivors of a genocide that targeted an order of religious monks that some of our main characters are members of, and a brave few are trying to scrape together whatever they can to put up some meager resistance to the all-consuming Empire. Meanwhile Rebels is over here feeling like Scooby fucking Doo.
The clone wars had a good mix of dark and light hearted moments. The dark scenes were handled with such care and it never felt like the show talked down to the audience.
This show could've been amazing if it was just an anthology series. We would follow characters from the prequel trilogy on their independent paths, starting 5 years after the empire took over the galaxy. Whether it be Cody, and his life as a stormtrooper, or Obi-Wan, exploring his life on Tattooine. Soon, some of these characters paths would intertwine, and eventually it would build up to some finale, where all of our characters from the clone wars meet up in some climactic showdown, likely with most of them dying, and the others retiring
The clone wars was also able to have story’s with different characters that we never seen before and so when a character was starting to feel old the writers would just go with different characters for the story

reasons you left out that are important imo 1. tcw felt alot more expansive exploring loads of planets, races, etc and it wasnt just about fighting the seperatists because they had loads of bounty hunter episodes, terrorist episodes, maul episodes, etc so it felt alot more refreshing and interesting im sorry but I cant be interested in lothal, stealing supplys from the big bad empire, and inquisitors that are all the same for multiple seasons 2. Tcw villains were alot more threatening [cad bane literally held like 40 senate people captive im the CORE OF CORRUSANT at once] im sorry but I cant people who keep failing and getting slandered / mocked by surperiors for their failure seriously [yes thrawn was threatening but his storm troopers kept failing so really what is a leader with no competent army] 3. The good guys always came out on top and it honestly felt like there was never a struggle // any hard obstacles all rebels felt like was a group of a couple immortal kids stealing from big bad empire but in tcw you had a good bit of jedi deaths and LOADS of clone deaths and often clones laying dead on the floor would be painfully visible which would make you view the enemy consciously or subconsciously as more of a threat because you see that their actually capable of ending the protagonists life 4. Tcw didnt just follow the same group all the time you had a couple main groups anakin ahsoka, a couple mace windu, obi wan, padme jar jar, etc so it was alot more captivating because alongside the affirmentioned repetitive themes rebels had a repetitive cast and it just felt like every episode was the same but with the cast, theme, surroundings, and villains constantly switching every epiode felt like a new fresh thing that you werent bored of 5. insight, in tcw we got loads of insight into how the republic and politics worked we got to learn about the problems they faced [looming bankrupcy for the cost of clones, new systems joining the seperatists, etc] but in rebels all we get to know is that the empire THE LEGITIMATE GOVERNMENT is bad [based off a couple acts we see in the series ignoring ot ofc] all it was was a couple rebels running around like it took us forever to get insight on there base like we never learned how their leadership, financial, arsenal, etc works etc and all we get to know is how they are trying to overthrow and take over a legitimate government like how are we supposed to care about them completing there cause when we barely know the rebels values 6. in tcw the characters are humanized [anakin and ahsoka both use the dark side // get out of character // relate with the villains multiple times] because well their human however in rebels all we get is ezra become somewhat evil because of maul for a couple episodes tcw characters feel alot more relatable / interesting because they arent this perfect group of friends who never fail and are always fighting for the good guys taking down the big bad empire like the few interesting turns the characters make in rebels arent shocking to us because we barely know them or their past // it takes us forever to but for anakin and ahsoka we know their story [from tfm and aotc ++ ahsoka comes from a strick jedi order something we all know and can grasp] so in tcw it feels like we are seeing these characters evolve and change due to the war rather than learn about this morally godly family who can never fail and barely evolve
*a lot Two words, not one. Think of it like this: a few, a little, a bunch, a *whole* bunch, a lot, a *whole* lot. Check the dictionary. "Alot" is not a word.
One of the best things about clone wars is the main stories had nothing to do with the larger galaxy they were new and intriguing ideas that for the most part were executed well
Ah yes battlefront the 2nd game became something great but it was cut off before it could achieve it’s peek power. Ironic it could come back from the dead, but couldn’t save itself from getting killed again.
For me one of the big problems was the defanging of the empire. The show kept telling us that they were big, scary and seemingly invincible. Yet they kept getting their butts kicked every other episode.
I really want to see a show that focuses on life as an imperial during the galactic civil war. That would be awesome, what it was like to be a stormtrooper. Essentially the battle front 2 campaign but better. A show where the protagonists are Imperial troopers.
Captain Yorkie YT but see that would change the empire from generic nazi bad guys to an organization with real people with families and friendships, and we can’t have that now can we?
It would be impossible if it were to be aired on TV Disney doesn't like to have the bad guys as protagonists if it isn't a comedy show or at least if they don't redeem and get to the good side
The Clone Wars is the better animated show; not even a contest. It wasn't just the stories that were better, but also the characters were far more interesting and developed.
Remove Ezra focus on Kanan and Hera as the main charecters with Rex and Ashoka as the support cast for them and the show would be better already. Have Rex and Kanan constantly arguing for a while due to order 66 with Ashoka trying to keep the peace while fighting against Thrawn and his plans for a while then have the inquisitors show and eventually Vader and thrawn working together and looks it’s better!
I honestly liked it. Wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t the worse thing I’ve seen. One thing I felt the show lacked the most was arcs. I was really hoping they were going somewhere with Ezra treading the dark side with Maul. Have him go with him to fight the Empire for a time before Kanan convinces him to eventually come back to the specters.
I enjoyed it too and disliked it for the same reasons as you, Ezra used the dark side of the force once when he grew older but that was it... nothing else. I feel like his anger and fear as a child would have him follow maul some more before he was directed back by kanan
Am I the only one who thinks Rebels Aksoka looks ugly and nothing like the Clone Wars version? Facial structure and patters on her headtails are way off. Even the markings on her face is off.
Packers Nation I mean she was a lot older then she was in Clone Wars. Pretty sure she was in her mid 30’s, so with her age it is only natural that her headtails were more adult, not to mention her Patterns being more sharp and pronounced. Rebels is not my favorite style, but Ahsoka and Vader’s designs were pretty cool in my opinion, even Admiral thrawn.
World Dominator housewife? Ahsoka can’t stay young forever you know, and even though I do prefer the Clone wars style, I still admire what they were able to do with Ahsoka’s design. Just my opinion. If their was a design I didn’t particularly like it was Ezras, came off way to much as a space Aladdin in the first and second season. But once he got the buzz cut and was less of a street rat, his design was definitely better.
I would like to see the Stormtroopers be an actually threat to our heros. Even the B1 Droids who some use as comic relief, still present a threat in their greater number matching toward their certain destruction just to kill you.
Wouldn’t a sequel to clone wars just be civilian Stormtroopers being lead and trained by the clones and struggle to keep their individuality unlike the clones who were allowed to paint their gear and have nicknames instead of numbers like a reverse Full metal jacket where the clones teach them to have individuality and the empire forces it away.
A big example of Disney restricting the show is when the writers set up the idea of Ezra gradually turning to the dark side of the Force, even showing him use darker methods. But Disney came in not wanting one of the main characters to have this kind of complex development and forced the writers to scrap it
I never watched Rebels but the one clip that I've seen is my favorite Star Wars scene ever. The scene where Darth Vader and Ahsoka fought. It still gives me goosebumps to talk about
Clone wars hit its stride and never stopped, Rebels took some getting used to, in fairness it wasn’t bad, at all, especially with Thrawns introduction, but you can see where they disnified it
Suing for Intelligence - Time travel would’ve been great if they’d used it to then retcon TLJ away to give us a better episode 9. And Bendu was great. Infinitely more likable and enjoyable than the characters on Mortis.
DMisigoy I completely disagree. Time travel has no place in Star Wars. The only way to fix Star Wars is to toss the disney trilogy into the abyss of nothingness where it belongs. Plus time travel is a cheap excuse used to bring characters back. If a show or series is based on time travel that’s one thing but introducing time travel into a series where it doesn’t belong is another. Dr who is sci-fi. Star Trek is sci-fi. Star gate is sci-fi. Star Wars is not sci-fi. While it has elements of sci-fi it is still space fantasy and should be treated as such. I hate the bendu because they portray him as a wise sage like character when he is fundamentally wrong. Star Wars has always been about destroying evil. The dark side is the imbalance in the force. If you want to analyze the bendu in a spiritual/religious context, it’s like worshiping God and the devil at the same time while claiming it’s the righteous thing to do. In the end the bendu does prove that it’s not possible to do serve both light and dark with his evil outburst but that part of the narrative could be lost on younger children in the end because they just leave it without truly showing why the bendu is wrong. Plus the bendu “too good for you and your war” attitude is insufferable. While there are times when it can be hard to see what the right moral choice can be hard to see, it doesn’t make said thing “morally grey.” I fundamentally disagree with a show made primarily for kids trying to push for muddying the waters of morality when the morals of Star Wars were clear from the beginning. Note: while I’m angry at what disney has done with Star Wars, this was not meant to be belligerent or condescending towards you. I strongly disagree with almost everything disney has done.
Suing for Intelligence - I was mostly joking about the time travel, but I otherwise disagree with most of what you’ve said. Bendu is a great character and he didn’t muddy anything. Rushing in to fight wars isn’t morally virtuous, and suggesting that it is is an actually terrible message to send kids, but again, this show wasn’t just for kids. And it’s Lucasfilm, not disney. Disney didn’t clean house when they bought it. The folks in charge there are all people who were hired by George Lucas. If anything, they’ve kept Kathleen Kennedy in charge for way too long, but I’d say that based on the movies. Rebels was legitimately great.
As Markus from Cosmonaut variety hour said, The Clone Wars was always on the verge of cancellation, it had to always try to be as good as it could be to avoid being cancelled, and had an entire era it had to redeem to the average viewer to even be accepted. And when it was going to be cancelled anyways, the writers would just have fun making the craziest most unique arcs they could without fear of reprisal because they had nothing left to lose. Rebels always had the security of Disney backing it, and being placed in the most basic and liked era of Star Wars, so it had nothing to worry about. All it had to do was play it as safe as possible, and it didn't matter how old, cliched, cheesy or bad the writing was, or how bad looking the animation was, as long as it could keep children engaged it was fine.
Clone Wars looked more cinematic with actual war in it, with actual life lessons, while Rebels just looked like cartoon for children, where good guys would always win, and bad guys fail
I prefer the Clone Wars cause they don’t limit their characters to Jedi but to the Clones inner conflicts about their purpose in the war and about their existence, also showing the conflict in separatist worlds, and the art of betrayal on both Ventress and Skywalker one was abandoned by her master to death while the other lacked support in his quest to prove his padawan’s innocence, it also shows Anakin’s inner conflicts about the Jedi order as a whole the character development in each of them is good to see and every episode is quite interesting and thrilling, the Umbaran and Anaxes arcs showed Clones as the main characters and how they persevered in each quest, every time a Clone character dies after going through a lot makes a darker side yet it still captivates the viewers the Kamino invasion the Inhibitor chips conspiracy both showed us that Clones aren’t all what we first thought they were they Kamino showed that each of them would be willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the planet they considered home Fives tried to save the order by warning them of the chips his death scene was one of the darkest deaths yet it was also one of the most trending.
@@noneofyourbusiness9489 it was extremely well engineered ...as a breakthrough tank that would have adequate time to repair and refit, adequate transportation to hot zones, and sufficient time and resources to complete it's development. Personally, I enjoyed Rebels very much, but Clone Wars is my favorite of the two. The Original Trilogy is my favorite of the movies, but for favorite characters, I became attached to the clones the most.
The clone wars also had a bunch of recognizable characters that we loved and the even the new ones that were added were presented in such a way that we loved them and sympathised with them. While in rebels they just expected us to get behind so many new and restricted (by the plot limitations) characters that i personally could not get behind them all .

@@glassbirds The whole artstyle argument is completly subjective to begin with, with few exceptions which everyone seems to agree on like Anakin Skywalker's portrayal. Grievous could be a real dick at times.
*FIRST OF ALL, LET'S TALK ABOUT THOSE DAMN TOOTHPICK LIGHTSABERS*
The whole look of rebels looked like a downgrade from previous animated series.
Ever seen A New Hope?
Genji Shimada yeah I didn’t like that.
What about the helicopter lightsabers?
Yes! Ugh they're so stupid! Disney knows nothing about lightsabers
I just picture the Stormtroopers actually getting killed when that stuff happens.
Rebels wasn't horrible, but it got too "cute" and comedic.
Side note: I hated the pencil thin, foil-like lightsaber blades. It just bothered me.
That first season was to bubble gummy for my taste
Bill Melater you are wrong I only enjoyed one scene which was instantly ruined by Ezra everything basically sucked in this show

Lets be honest it was other factors aswell including,
- Ugly downgraded Animation.
Ok, you're allowed to say all of that except PLOT ARMOR. TCW has TONS of plot armor moments that you don't really need to dig deep to find.
@@Manglet762 Fair enough TCW has plot armor too but it didn't harm the show as much. Sure some characters were not allowed to die but the only character the plot armor really harmed was General Grevious.
ok, let's go through one at a time:
- Animation: they tried to base the animation off of concept art from the movies and while that is commendable, that art really doensn't look good in 3D motion.
- Plot: what did you expect? it wanted to be a saturday morning cartoon
- Writing: again, Saturday morning cartoon
- Main Characters: man they were bad, only good ones were Kanan and Herrah (also fuck Ezra)
- Empire: not just the empire in general, every villain is incopetent to no end. just look at the inquisitors that replaced the Grand Inquisitor, or should I say Imperial Team Rocket.
Rafael Iasbeck Dalcol where is hera in rogue one?
The only reason I stayed was the old characters from the Clone Wars
How to neutralize an enemy in:
The Clone Wars: shoot, slash, stab, punch the enemy until they are either knocked out or dead
Rebels: *SLASH THE BARRELS OFF THE GUNS AND WATCH THEM FALL TO THE GROUND FROM 0 INJURY TO THEM*
Exactly, it’s so annoying to watch.
It got to the point where I’m not even exaggerating, a Mando just tapped the helmet of 2 stormtroopers and they just died
I’m actually not exaggerating, it really was as soft as a tap,
I saw it different.
@Vlavitir glutginskiya Its only terrorism if you loose.

I think you are right, but I want to add, that Grievous in Clone Wars was (in my opinion) also meant to deliver comical relieve,
there is this Star Wars Cartoon from 2000 and something where Grievous is finally shown how he was meant to be
feared, competent and able to match a bunch of Jedi masters + padawans.
@@facemanmc6364 there's some theories that the original Clone Wars cartoon was an in-universe propoganda film series.
Well said
DayDreamer- What about LT-319 in rebels, he was good in that one episode then never seen again.
Faceman MC- I agree but there are a few episodes where they show Grievous well, lair of grievous and Grievous Intrigue. When they catch him off guard and he tears through the clones with his bare hands.
Vader & Thrawn in Rebels were better than any of the villains in Clone Wars. No contest.
The Clone wars animation was way better.
Yeah I dont like the thin lightsabers
Rebels was more based on Ralph Mcquarrie's concept art, which is why the lightsabers are thinner, the stormtrooper masks look so strange and people's faces are more slanted
Yeah, that's because The Clone Wars was motion captured which ended up being too expensive to use for them so Rebels are 100% CGI.
Magmar Mobile yeah but that only sounds good in theory. In animation it looked weird and unnatural and much more artificial than clone wars
Agreed I watched both of these fully and I enjoyed them both but Star Wars rebels had a lot less effort in the context
*had long arcs, serious
*brought back and introduced (to keep verb tense consistent with "had")
*characters that were important and had (again, to keep verb tense consistent)
*backstory: General
Put spaces after commas and not before them.
*Savage
*best parts of Rebels were (because "parts" is plural)
*Also, Ezra is like if Anakin

They killed quite bit, like I remember the first scene of season 3 is ezra straight up shooting a stormtrooper for the first time with an actual blaster, not a stun gun. The inquisitor also decapitates those imperial officers in season one. I agree they do force push them away a bit too much for my liking though.

MikaGrof yeah they really make the empire seem like incompetent idiots that don’t have any imposing feel about them
I feel like Rebels could have expanded the theme of Rogue One where the rebels had a darker side to them and there were many gray areas. I would have also liked to see more of Saw’s renegades.
It's a kids show, they never would have been allowed to make it like that.
I know, but there are some dark parts already. The Clone Wars was also a “kids show.”
I felt like they were alluding to how Saw got his injuries, but decided not to do it because it would be too dark.
That’s Andor in a nutshell.
StupidMarioBros1Fan agreed
I’m sorry but there is no way it would ever be better than the Clone Wars. The main issues for me were most of the character, lack of consistent serious tone, and story-telling. You fix those and it’s maybe on the same level as the Clone Wars. Still a pretty small era to throw it up against the clone wars.
That's not necessarily a problem, that its aimed at kids.
@@alexturlais8558 But it took that a step too far in many cases.

The clones in clone wars were treated like formidable troopers, the empire in rebels were treated like bumbling idiots.

Exactly! The empire isn't intimidating. The ghost crew could seemingly destroy the empire if they wanted too.
The only times I liked rebels is when old characters returned like maul,ahsoka,obi-wan,vader,Rex etc the new characters for the most part where really bland especially Ezra

“Disney’s shows-particularly those aimed at kids-never allowed the writers to think outside the box.”
‘Glares at Lion Guard’
I dont get it
Sees Gravity Falls too, maybe it’s more of Lucasfilm themselves then Disney.
The 4 part battle of Umbara had me crying as a kid but those 4 episodes were my favorites.
Makes sense since the guy who voice Kanan was in the live action Scooby Doo movie.
You’re just fucking biased towards Clone Wats
Rebels feels like a kid's Clone Wars fanfiction.
Rebels feels like a kid's Clone Wars fanfiction.
The clone wars was also able to have story’s with different characters that we never seen before and so when a character was starting to feel old the writers would just go with different characters for the story

reasons you left out that are important imo
1. tcw felt alot more expansive exploring loads of planets, races, etc and it wasnt just about fighting the seperatists because they had loads of bounty hunter episodes, terrorist episodes, maul episodes, etc so it felt alot more refreshing and interesting im sorry but I cant be interested in lothal, stealing supplys from the big bad empire, and inquisitors that are all the same for multiple seasons
2. Tcw villains were alot more threatening [cad bane literally held like 40 senate people captive im the CORE OF CORRUSANT at once] im sorry but I cant people who keep failing and getting slandered / mocked by surperiors for their failure seriously [yes thrawn was threatening but his storm troopers kept failing so really what is a leader with no competent army]
3. The good guys always came out on top and it honestly felt like there was never a struggle // any hard obstacles all rebels felt like was a group of a couple immortal kids stealing from big bad empire but in tcw you had a good bit of jedi deaths and LOADS of clone deaths and often clones laying dead on the floor would be painfully visible which would make you view the enemy consciously or subconsciously as more of a threat because you see that their actually capable of ending the protagonists life
4. Tcw didnt just follow the same group all the time you had a couple main groups anakin ahsoka, a couple mace windu, obi wan, padme jar jar, etc so it was alot more captivating because alongside the affirmentioned repetitive themes rebels had a repetitive cast and it just felt like every episode was the same but with the cast, theme, surroundings, and villains constantly switching every epiode felt like a new fresh thing that you werent bored of
5. insight, in tcw we got loads of insight into how the republic and politics worked we got to learn about the problems they faced [looming bankrupcy for the cost of clones, new systems joining the seperatists, etc] but in rebels all we get to know is that the empire THE LEGITIMATE GOVERNMENT is bad [based off a couple acts we see in the series ignoring ot ofc] all it was was a couple rebels running around like it took us forever to get insight on there base like we never learned how their leadership, financial, arsenal, etc works etc and all we get to know is how they are trying to overthrow and take over a legitimate government like how are we supposed to care about them completing there cause when we barely know the rebels values
6. in tcw the characters are humanized [anakin and ahsoka both use the dark side // get out of character // relate with the villains multiple times] because well their human however in rebels all we get is ezra become somewhat evil because of maul for a couple episodes tcw characters feel alot more relatable / interesting because they arent this perfect group of friends who never fail and are always fighting for the good guys taking down the big bad empire like the few interesting turns the characters make in rebels arent shocking to us because we barely know them or their past // it takes us forever to but for anakin and ahsoka we know their story [from tfm and aotc ++ ahsoka comes from a strick jedi order something we all know and can grasp] so in tcw it feels like we are seeing these characters evolve and change due to the war rather than learn about this morally godly family who can never fail and barely evolve

“...It’s a Star Wars Legend”
Unfortunately not one of the good Legends
I'll just go listen to the tragedy of Darth Plaguis the Wise.
Imagine if it was about 2 Stormtrooper brothers with one of them being killed on the death star and the Stormtrooper goes out for revenge.
Captain Yorkie YT but see that would change the empire from generic nazi bad guys to an organization with real people with families and friendships, and we can’t have that now can we?
It would be impossible if it were to be aired on TV
Disney doesn't like to have the bad guys as protagonists if it isn't a comedy show or at least if they don't redeem and get to the good side
The Clone Wars is the better animated show; not even a contest. It wasn't just the stories that were better, but also the characters were far more interesting and developed.
@Ryan Stapleton Yeah! You can say that again.
Not to mention the visuals
@@gabeb1331 You can say that again.
Far more interesting and developed? Let’s not go that far lol Rebels has some of the best characters in SW
"What Went Wrong With Star Wars Rebels?"
harrison ford: i don't know, and i don't care
Yes she doesn't look at all like Ahsoka from Clone Wars. Disney just draw some random Togruta for it.
Looks weird
Packers Nation I mean she was a lot older then she was in Clone Wars. Pretty sure she was in her mid 30’s, so with her age it is only natural that her headtails were more adult, not to mention her Patterns being more sharp and pronounced.
Rebels is not my favorite style, but Ahsoka and Vader’s designs were pretty cool in my opinion, even Admiral thrawn.
@yearlonggiant Surely Hera looks better than Ahsoka. They could have made Ahsoka look better, now she looks like a housewife.
*an actual threat (adjective)
actually = adverb
*being led (past tense)
A big example of Disney restricting the show is when the writers set up the idea of Ezra gradually turning to the dark side of the Force, even showing him use darker methods. But Disney came in not wanting one of the main characters to have this kind of complex development and forced the writers to scrap it
I have to say you did a great job on your “Tragedy” story.
Not cheesy. Very funny. And factual. Good job!
I never watched Rebels but the one clip that I've seen is my favorite Star Wars scene ever. The scene where Darth Vader and Ahsoka fought. It still gives me goosebumps to talk about

Clone wars hit its stride and never stopped,
Rebels took some getting used to, in fairness it wasn’t bad, at all, especially with Thrawns introduction, but you can see where they disnified it
justchyll2009 the cons being the bendu, time travel and force fast travel.

Disney star wars: INDESTRUCTIBLE SPACE WHALES!!!
I like rebels but it can be improved massively they just didn’t get the chance to with what they were limited to
I prefer the Clone Wars cause they don’t limit their characters to Jedi but to the Clones inner conflicts about their purpose in the war and about their existence, also showing the conflict in separatist worlds, and the art of betrayal on both Ventress and Skywalker one was abandoned by her master to death while the other lacked support in his quest to prove his padawan’s innocence, it also shows Anakin’s inner conflicts about the Jedi order as a whole the character development in each of them is good to see and every episode is quite interesting and thrilling, the Umbaran and Anaxes arcs showed Clones as the main characters and how they persevered in each quest, every time a Clone character dies after going through a lot makes a darker side yet it still captivates the viewers the Kamino invasion the Inhibitor chips conspiracy both showed us that Clones aren’t all what we first thought they were they Kamino showed that each of them would be willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the planet they considered home Fives tried to save the order by warning them of the chips his death scene was one of the darkest deaths yet it was also one of the most trending.

It had such thick armor it could even keep its crew from dying.
