Thank you for highlighting women's sexual health! Doctors don't listen to us, we don't get sex ed in schools, and porn is geared for men. We're rarely treated with compassion and respect when we bring up reproductive health problems, yet men would never be expected to deal with painful sex and infections resulting from aging and dry skin. It's so refreshing to hear a doctor discuss health issues matter of factly and thoroughly and accurately. This info will help many women - and many couples!
You said it. Men would never be expected to deal with those things without a huge shake-up in the medical industry and yes I mean industry-- money spent and people working running around like little robots trying to please the men that just cannot endure what women endure. Thinking of all the drugs that have been developed not to cure disease, or sustain life, but simply to help men have a better sex life boggles the mind. When it was found that blood pressure drugs were not conducive to having strong erections then Big Pharma went to work producing different kinds of blood pressure medicines,, and on and on with so many other drugs, while some real problems of the rest of our population were put on the back burner.
Agreed! I never knew until recently how common pelvic area prolapse is. And apparently the technology to address is not very effective. If men's internal organs were falling out of various places, I'm sure there would be better solutions available.
Yes! And it makes me SO MAD that all of these cleansers exist for women’s genitals but are so bad for us! Where are the special deodorizing cleansers for men’s genitals??? They’re prone to odor and no where near as delicate in their PH balance.
Dr. Dray, when you address topics that should not be embarrassing issues for wiser women, you make me feel so empowered. There are days when I feel as if I’m falling apart; thank you for this video because you have given me hope.
It is incredible generous of you to make these videos free to the public. Wonderful information and coming from a doctor who obviously cares for not only her patients but for the general population as well. Thank you.
I’ve learned so much from her and she’s generous with her time, thankfully. With the number of followers she has, she is definitely being compensated, so for that I’m happy for her. She rocks.
What a brilliant, articulate, no-nonsense woman. This is the best and most needed channel on youtube. Thankyou for spending the time to do this for us. It's public service and we are grateful.
Menopause has been cruel to me. I hate it! NO sleep, dry eyes, dry skin, dry...everything, and hard to lose fat. It stinks. Thank you for this info for over 50 women.
I'm having some of the same issues as I've just started perimenopause. My gyno just put me on birth control, she says it's just as effective (maybe even more so) than HRT. We'll see...
You can find very good information on Dr Barbara Taylors youtube channel: menopause barbie. It helped ma a lot. Would be great info for younger women as well.
You’re the best thing on UA-cam. I’ve learned so much from you. Thank you, Dr Dray!!! Please make more videos for mature women. I appreciate you so much. Have a nice day.
I am so grateful that I’ve found your vlogs. I’m 58 and have been struggling with dry skin, itching, etc. Was using expensive moisturizers with fragrance and couldn’t understand why my skin wasn’t responding and sometimes worsened. As a nurse who is heavily into research, your videos are a breath of fresh air! Well done, informative, and saved my skin (literally) with Cerave. My new favs: Cerave daytime with spf; Cerave pm for repair and retaining fluid; Cerave big jar for all the rest of me! Friends have commented and I’ve been sharing your info with them. Grateful that you take the time to educate. And very happy to save the $$$!
You have no idea how much you help people! Truly truly appreciate it. Not just for me but now I can share with my mom who suffers from nose bleeds. She’s 84 yrs old and these bleeds could be life threatening because she’s on a blood thinner due to her heart surgery. Not one doctor advised lubricant. Only a humidifier to help with sinus dryness. OMG! Thanks a million! ❤️

Been in menopause for 11 years & am 53 years old. Always has an oily complex & is not the case anymore. Your description of women in menopause is spot on. I do not shower nor wash my hair daily anymore. My skin care is completely different & I appreciate this video more as we mature women need professional advise for our skin & our body.
I am not sure if you know how much you have impacted my life but you make me feel normal again. Thank you. Doctors do not address most of these issues when a person is going thru them.
Ha ha How would she know unless you tell her? Seriously, you are so right. Doctors do not address the issues she does. I am so thankful I found her. :D
Defs. I am also in love with your (Dr. Dray) recommendation on Neutrogena Hydraboost gel. My skin glows with it under the cerave AM ultralightweight lotion (i'm oily type). I do like creams at night, especially in the winter. I have acne-prone skin so I have to be careful not to go too heavy, but I'm on tretinoin gel (0.1%) so I do get a bit dry. Anyway, I've learned a lot from your videos. I know own 2 UPF 50 sunhats and I got a UPF50 long-sleeved shirt you linked and love it!
Dr Dray, your information about the urogenital tract is so important and valuable. As young women, we never think vaginal dryness will be an issue and it's difficult to get advise from your family practice and even your gyn. I never thought to consult a dermatologist! Sexual health is very important at all ages. :-)
I really love your channel!!! . Please recommend some cruelty-free creams and serums, beacuse I do not want to support not cruelty-free companies ( cerave belongs to L'oreal)
I read about this when I was Peri menopausal - luckily, my boyfriend and I liked using lubricant..and I am so so glad I was told i would need to expect some dryness - otherwise would have did a number on our love life..and that would have been a total bummer..
Thanks for this mature woman focused Vlog. I’m almost sixty and have worked outdoors my whole life and have always struggled with dry skin, and chapped lips.Ive been using the CeraVe products since finding your channel in December and wow, what a difference it has made. 👍
I'm past mature and into elderly(81). Will look into humidifiers. I have saved a lot of money with shopping with you (on line) and vey happy with fragrance free. Chemo changed my skin.
I would love a full review on the purple line CeraVe. Thank you for telling us straight about skincare for mature skin. Companies seem to prey on older women with all their creams lotions, serums.
I’m an esthetician and I’ve come across many “professional” brands. La Roche is by far my favorite line(and PCA) although it’s not “salon” quality. Minimal ingredients and fragrant free moisturizers make my skin happy! Great video thank you, I always learn so much and look forward to learning new things from you! ❤️
You know what, I'm soon to be 73 years young. I've read a lot about feminine ageing but who would've thought a dermatologist could address so much so succinctly. Thanks seems hardly enough Dr Dray. But it's obviously the greatest thing we patrons can offer
Fantastic info. I read on other YT video comments about you. I’ve unsubscribed to the beauty junkies, and I’m tackling my sensitive skin issues with your no-nonsense suggestions. Dermalogica dermillogical is what brought me here. My skin began itching and blotching with some hives! I scratched two scabs in my face! Following your recommendations has settled my skin down. I’ve still got a tiny bit of neck irritation, bit it’s much better than it was only a week ago. A sincere thank you. You’ve saved my skin and a bucketload of money too!
At your suggestion I have been using Cerave products but have not tried the Purple line. Please do review. Love the statement you made pertaining to" NO Need to purchase high end products" drug store works fine :)
Thank you!! Now, I finally understand why my grandmother was so meticulous about using skin creams to keep her skin moist and supple. She was so serious about eating vegetables and fruits and she had lovely skin even when she was 90! I WILL now be diligent with moisturizing lotions, because I detest my itchy arms!
You are such a wealth of information, no cutesy, and ' buy my product ', just a real, honest take of what we can learn from your knowledge and expertise. So Refreshing to find you!!!! No wonder you have over 1.07 million subs! Come on people get her more subscribers - she deserves the respect! And thank you so much for adding us vibrant yet "Wise" (thank you for calling us that) folks who are so confused about this perimenopause and menopause situation. I've had hot flashes, then cold flashes, since my mid 40's, mostly night sweats now at 64+, it's so frustrating! And now facial skin is just beginning to show signs of sagging! OMGosh. I see you have a video to tighten saggy skin so off I go to watch another video that I know won't disappoint!
I only just found you the other day and I cannot tell you how life changing your videos are to me. I am 70 years ago and pretty fit. However, many of the issues you raise for "wiser" women pertains to me. It's so hard to wade through the hype of many products geared toward older women, and know what's true and what is not. You videos have done that for me with respect to removing eye makeup, moisturizers, sunscreen, hair thinning, nail care and even uro-genital health (which has been a huge issue for me). I cannot thank you enough for what you are doing.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!!! I just introduced you to my 76 yr old Mother. She made me go out and buy her the Laroche posa y products for skin care
"As we get wiser" -love you Dr. Dray! Also because you give us such great info! Who else addresses dry skin causing painful sex? Needed this talk, mom missed this one, lol.
Thank you for addressing this! I’m 52 and still in perimenopause. Thankfully I still have lots of oil in my face. I know the face dryness is coming though....right now I’m battling dry mouth and throat...and actually my vaginal area was the first place I battled dryness..I absolutely love CeraVe and it’s working great for me.
As someone that suffers from premature ovarian failure, I really appreciate this video. I finally started bioidentical hormones and that combined with following your tips, is making me look and feel youthful again. Thank you!!
Purple line, please, Dr. Dray! I didn't know about this CeraVe line. Thank you every day for the sound, thorough advice you provide. You do great service.
And I should add an enormous thank you to you for addressing this highly important topic. Please make more videos targeting the wise and mature demographic!
I'm 68 and new to your channel. This talk was beautifully, tastefully and respectfully presented. Thank you. I consider myself to be reasonably informed but there was quite a bit here that I hadn't heard before. Would love to see more videos of those of us in our 60's and older. Once I entered into my 60's I really started to notice changes in not just my skin but pretty much every part of me. I would love to have more information about this. I have a medicine cabinet of serums. Guess I'll use those up and not worry about purchasing more. Thanks again!
Sixty years on the planet here and just now starting to use sun protection on a daily basis- your message is very clear, rain or shine I won't skip a day. Please do review the purple line. THANK YOU!
@@WeatherMoon I use the Australian Gold Botanical 50 spf broad spectrum, it has a tint that matches my skin and does good under make up. I think it is also a Dr Dray approved one and fairly priced.
Wow! You blow me away. How BLESSED we are that you share you knowledge with us. One of your best videos yet! I am 50 yrs old with a mild case of Rosacea. I have severed dry / cracked skin around my chin and mouth. The only cream that seems to work to help that area is Aveeno Exema Therapy Balm...it has been a life changer. The 7 step Pyunkang Yul routine has made a INCREDIBLE difference as well. Thank you Dr. for all you DO. My skin is so much healthier and I owe it all to YOU. God bless you.
Julia Evans I know a lady that after her children grew up and moved out, she went to school and became a surgeon. Nancy Pelosi started politics after her children grew up, and she has reached a pinnacle.
I really enjoy your videos. So entertaining and informative. After breast cancer I took a hormone blocker for five years. I'm sure the tamoxifen made me look a lot older though I haven't seen any info that supports it. I'm happy to be cancer free, but I'm doing all I can to salvage my aging skin.
Juanita Kerr First I would like to say Congradulations on being cancer free!! I too had cancer, and am still on harmony therapy I can see alot of difference in the texture of my skin after the first two years, and after that.i will not be off of the therapy until July of this year, I'll have my five years in then. I really think it does make a difference in the skin for sure as I have spoke with others who has had the same experience. Just thought you would like to know!! Thank you for bringing this subject up. Please have a Great Day!!
Thank you so much for addressing the concerns of mature women. I am in my 60’s and experience the dryness, irritation and itching of the urogenital tract. Your video was very informative and helped so much, not only for that area but other things such as hair thinning, etc.
I recently introduced your video to my mum who is in her 80s. She absolutely loves your videos! She loves your clarity, being informative and high quality content! Thank you
Dray, I don't know if you will see this but thank you for addressing this. I'm in my early 60s and my facial skin looks great but "down there " skin is so sensitive. Thank you so much for treating us like we're still alive. Love your videos!
Sooo! Interesting Dr Dray!! Loved that you touched base on mature skin!! I learned so much from this review. Would love to see a review on purple cerave!! That would be Super Great!! Thank you as always for a Wonderful video!! Please enjoy your Day!!
Gosh getting older really sucks although a blessing . Being dark skin save me considering only 2 yrs ago I start using sunscreen .am from the Caribbean so sunscreen are not taught really . Although I partially grow up here in the USA I still didn’t use sunscreen . 2 yrs again I start with a skincare routine and am learning am 46 now will be 47 this year still wrinkle free Your video helps so much I can’t even thank you enough for taking the time to make them it’s beyond appreciated .
I thought about this last night. To stop eating sugar! The pink* Himalayan salt flush really helped but it's scary and no one should do it without being under supervision of a physician.
This is great information about what happens as we get older. It is the most comprehensive information I have ever heard. I am not 79 now and am blown away! I am sending this to my daughters. Thank you.
Hi Dr. Dray! I am so happy you did this video. I had a total hysterectomy at 31 and I have gone through many skin challenges. I would love to see you do a total review on the purple line of Cerave products. Thank you again for all of the facts on skincare and moisturizers! Have a great day!
What a fantastic, useful video! I had an early menopause at aged 42, lots of useful info but the most useful tip was the dry nose lubricant! I suffer terribly from dry eyes and dry nose, will definitely be getting some of the lubricant you mention. Thank you so much!
What do you think about Eucerin. I red the ingredients I got scared it has even ammonium. I was tryna get the redness relief now. Im new to this channel, I avoid sulphates and harmful pegs and there is this. Please help. Am I missing something? I really want to follow her advice but..
Thank you for this! And thank you especially for talking about vaginal mucosa health! So many things happen to the body during the menopausal transition, and I'm so glad you've talked about some of them here. I'm particularly glad you reminded us about safe sex as well--many postmenopausal women think that just because they can't get pregnant they don't have to worry about safe sex, but you can get an STD at any age. (Plus, vaginal dryness common after menopause can cause tiny tears in the mucosa, which make women even more vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections.) I have a tip for women dealing with night sweats--try a bed fan. There are a number available on the Amazonian and other places, and the white noise can also help with sleep changes (another change that comes during perimenopause!).
This year (in my 40th year), my skin has gotten so dry to the point of feeling itchy in certain areas...I was so surprised and have been struggling with finding a way to get moisture so this is a very helpful video. Thank you!
I just want to say, once again, how much I appreciate your dedication to telling your audience the truth, without a lot of sugar coating, just to the point, super informative, with a great touch of light humor that you toss in that always makes me laugh. Sincerely, thank you so much.
I am so grateful for this video. You brought up a lot of issues that are difficult to talk about and accept. In fact, I've done everything I can to avoid this discussion. I think you're the first person I've talked to about this subject (virtually). You've made me realize that it's important to stare these issues in the face and there's nothing to be ashamed of. Thank you for treating getting old(er) with great dignity.
Omg! Thank you Dr. Drey. I am experiencing surgical menopause, 4 years since my youth was taken, and hate it!! I feel like I have aged 50 years overnight. Please please give us your review on the purple line and everything to do with mature skin. I appreciate that you recommend an affordable and minimalistic approach to skin care.
can you make a video of a complete skin care rutine for mature skin? im researching for my mum and because im young i haven't searched a lot on what a rutine for mature skin actually needs. it would help me a lot! thank you !
I just copied out almost the entire list of products you recommend so I can print it out and take it to the drugstore with me next time I need skincare products. I'm 51 and have definitely been noticing more dryness (all over) over the last 5 or 6 years, so it's a relief to know what's good for that...and even better, that it doesn't have to be outrageously expensive or fancy! Thank you so much.
Thank you I am a 50 plus subscriber. I had total hysterectomy and did not do hormone therapy. Now I know that was a mistake because 4 years later I am shriveled. Trying everything to get my skin firmness again. I recently started on the pellet therapy every 4 months. This is first round we will see if it helps my skin.
Yes please review purple cerave. 58 this year and it has been the year I have noticed the most facial aging. Jowls. Neck sagging. Seems like overnight !! Also creepy hands. Great info. Thanks.
Sherrie561 Sounds like you might benefit from face massage and face yoga - I have used this to tighten my neck and chin so I guess it helps with jowls too 🤞🤞
Sherrie561 yes! I started menopause at 55.5, and finished a year with no period at 56.6. I am now just turned 57 and the effects of lack of estrogen are multiplying exponentially!
What a wonderfully informative video! You covered so many issues that we face as we get older.. And honestly, not one of my physicians has touched on any of it (except the lubricant) even when asked! We are so blessed that you are willing to share so much with us. Thank you!! Sue
Thanks for discussing what most women feel like are sensitive topics and encouraging them to talk to their doctors. If I ever see you outside anywhere I’d love to shake your hand and say thank you! Have a great day.
Dr. Dray, thank you for listing these products for mature skin. I especially appreciate your posting the links where we can find these skin products. My skin has improved since I started listening to you on UA-cam.
Proud to report being part of your viewing minority! I love your videos and appreciate your candor and professionalism. My question is this: As a male, are there changes that I should be expecting in my skin as I age? It seems to be hormonal changes associated with the female sex organs can bring about a LOT of concerns and problems for women, but is there anything specifically for men that I should anticipate? Are there hormonal changes that occur for men throughout age, like decreased testosterone production? How does this ultimately affect the skin?
@Christina Williams Are you an elderly male? Otherwise, please stop with the men have it easy nonsense. Unless you have a prostate and your gonads hanging outside your body, you cannot experience what a man experiences.
Loved this video. As a 66 year old woman, I appreciate that you acknowledge the concerns of older viewers. As always, you are informative and a great source of sound information and advice. Thank you! Are estrogen creams of any value for firming the skin?
I just discovered your channel......I LOVE your recommendations and your knowledge. You are a TRUE educator and I THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I love that you refer to aging as "as we grow wiser" that's so POSITIVE and so TRUE. As women, we go through so many changes in life and it's so good to get advice from a positive woman. Thank you!

Thanks for this mature woman focused Vlog. I’m almost sixty and have worked outdoors my whole life and have always struggled with dry skin, and chapped lips.Ive been using the CeraVe products since finding your channel in December and wow, what a difference it has made. 👍
Yes, please. Full review for old skin. I’m not going to say older. I’m 70. Mines “ old”.
Adam Whelan who carries it ? Please and thank you

Great content, unlike 85% of UA-cam so-called “beauty” vids. Thank you.
Wow! I cried through this entire video!! NOBODY talks about these things!! I am so ignorant to all of it!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP DR DRAY!
Yes, please do a full review of the purple line.
I love how you say, "as we get wiser..." Thank you. Growing older is a privilege, and indeed gaining wisdom is the best part. 😌
I would be very interested in the purple line of CeraVe. I have not purchased any.
Same!
Same. I love the night cream. It’s my resent love and use it during day as well because it just feels so soothing
what she said :)
Carman Merriam I would too😄
I use CeraVe purple line and it is really good as Dr Dray says..
Loved this video. Would love a review on Cerave's purple line.
I love the way Dr Dray puts it: As we get wiser...
I know this is an older clip but THANK you for addressing the unnecessary use of “feminine hygiene” projects, esp. douches, wipes and such!
Thank you!!
Can my doctor prescribe this for me and are they covered by insurance? Thanks.
Yes. Please do a segment on all the CeraVe purple💜products for mature skin. That’s your great.
Yes I am interested in the purple line in cerave. I love cerave but never tried the aging line.
Thank you for speaking to us wiser women, I'm 56 years young.
Sixty years on the planet here and just now starting to use sun protection on a daily basis- your message is very clear, rain or shine I won't skip a day. Please do review the purple line. THANK YOU!
Which do you use? I break out from all I have used with parabens, etc.
@@WeatherMoon I use the Australian Gold Botanical 50 spf broad spectrum, it has a tint that matches my skin and does good under make up. I think it is also a Dr Dray approved one and fairly priced.
@@lghealthyover6074 i will look it up. Thank you
Extremely helpful video for my 55 year old skin. Thanks so very much for posting this.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for the tip about using a "sex lubricant" to prevent dry nostrils and nose bleeds! Brilliant!
I like Curad Germ Shield gel for nostrils / nosebleeds
I’m 35 years old and you make me want to totally change my career and go to med school to be a dermatologist!!!!
Julia Evans I know a lady that after her children grew up and moved out, she went to school and became a surgeon. Nancy Pelosi started politics after her children grew up, and she has reached a pinnacle.
Agree.
Go for it! You can do anything!
Couldn't agree more..
Me toooooooo
Congratulations on five years of being cancer free!
Juanita and jackie am vary happy now youare free cancer.
Same with my mami. Besos!
Thank you so much for addressing the concerns of mature women. I am in my 60’s and experience the dryness, irritation and itching of the urogenital tract. Your video was very informative and helped so much, not only for that area but other things such as hair thinning, etc.
Watching this even though I'm only in my 20s. It's good to prepare lol. And yes to reviewing CeraVe's purple line!
Happy Monday!
He he he
My face and body have done a 180-degree turn since I have been watching you over the last 6 months. Thank you as it is close to rocket science for me.
I recently introduced your video to my mum who is in her 80s. She absolutely loves your videos! She loves your clarity, being informative and high quality content! Thank you
I could just hug you. Thank you for making this video ❤️
Sat and drank my morning coffee and listened and learned so much this morning. THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY SKIN!!!
You have convinced me to not waste my money on expensive products. Never again.
Same same same!!!
Dray, I don't know if you will see this but thank you for addressing this. I'm in my early 60s and my facial skin looks great but "down there " skin is so sensitive. Thank you so much for treating us like we're still alive. Love your videos!
Yes please do a review on the purple line! I love the videos addressing mature skin issue and hair loss! Thank you 😊
Stopped eating sugar in all forms and reduce carbs and hot flashes almost completely stopped for me.
4tun8nanette I know this is something I need to commit to... thank you for reinforcing!
I thought about this last night. To stop eating sugar! The pink* Himalayan salt flush really helped but it's scary and no one should do it without being under supervision of a physician.
@mallo Dehydrated? I did this about 3 months ago. I remember feeling dizzy and some sort of disturbing/ concerning feelings.
@4tun8nanette I found my hot flashes coincided with high sugar or carb eating also!
Love how you care about helping us be healthy not pushing us to buy stuff we can’t offered thank you 🙏🏼
This is great information about what happens as we get older.
Try omega 7? www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5409703/
@@leenmarier5729 Thank you! I have just started using it in the form of Sea Buckthorn oil, capsules I've seen such good reviews.
Thanks Ms Sharon! Yeah it is particulary awful on airplanes with the dry nose.
I'm 73 yo. You had me at MATURE SKIN. Yes to the color purple. Great video by the way! Thank-you!
So many medical providers are poorly informed about menopause and perimenopause. This is excellent info
I tried the CeraVe that you show in this video for the first time EVER last night and it feels like a game changer...I have to say.
There are a number available on the Amazonian and other places, and the white noise can also help with sleep changes (another change that comes during perimenopause!).
thanks for watching :)
This year (in my 40th year), my skin has gotten so dry to the point of feeling itchy in certain areas...I was so surprised and have been struggling with finding a way to get moisture so this is a very helpful video. Thank you!
I was experiencing a lot of itching across the upper back area of my shoulders and my derm doc recommended Sarna lotion. It helped me
I just want to say, once again, how much I appreciate your dedication to telling your audience the truth, without a lot of sugar coating, just to the point, super informative, with a great touch of light humor that you toss in that always makes me laugh.
Oh, and yes to the purple line, please!
As an esthetician, I always appreciate your breadth of knowledge.
can you make a video of a complete skin care rutine for mature skin? im researching for my mum and because im young i haven't searched a lot on what a rutine for mature skin actually needs. it would help me a lot!
My gynecologist recommended that I take 400 iu of vitamin e in the evening before bed to help with hot flashes. It does seem to help me.
Thanks for addressing vaginal dryness! Didn't expect you to talk about this in this video but was so happy to.
How does this ultimately affect the skin?
yes! good questions for possible future video
She has previously done a video on male and female skin differences that may be of use to you.
Men age like wine, Women age like milk :( sad truth
@Christina Williams Are you an elderly male? Otherwise, please stop with the men have it easy nonsense. Unless you have a prostate and your gonads hanging outside your body, you cannot experience what a man experiences.
I think men have just as many challenges with aging as women do.
Thank you!
When my daughter was a teenager, I always hoped she would grow up to be as smart, kind and beautiful like you, Dr. Dray. You're my favorite person on UA-cam.
