Dear Dr. Dray and followers. As a young mother (years and years ago-- in my young and stupid days-- who still suffered with acne, I was taking vitamin A supplements, hoping for some improvement. After not getting any results, I thought maybe increasing the vitamin A would certainly help. So I tripled the dose. Before long I noticed my skin looked gold-ish and I felt as if I had a bad case of the flu--but it didn't go away. I felt so sick that I finally went to the doctor. As it turned out I gave myself hepatitis from all that vitamin A, and which of course was making my liver very unhappy. I was sick and weak, and could hardly walk to the kitchen. I was sick for 5 months! I had no knowledge about stored vitamins, and what the result could be. I didn't learn that until years later. Since I had a young baby and a toddler, it was a particularly hard time. And I was also contagious, so no family or f.riends could come to help. Or even visit! Best of luck to followers of Dr. Dray. When she warns not to take a large amount of something, you must listen. A hard lesson learned, and I hope to save someone else such a result. NO fat soluable vitamin overdoses, please. (ADEK) The liver can only handle sooo much.
I was advised by Dr. Ray Strand approximately 20 years ago to add 300mg of Grapeseed Extract to my daily treatment. I have SLE, Sjogrens and Hoshimotos for over 50 years. I was also advised to eat in the manner you've encouraged. I'm lucky my mom is French and this is typical (or it used to be) the way the French eat so I've eaten very well my whole life. I quit using the grapeseed to save money and there was a significant difference. I resumed the grapeseed after 5 years and if nothing else, my joints have a slight, noticeable improvement. My physician believes I "do better than most" in managing my illness due primarily to my healthy diet. This doesn't mean I haven't experienced life-threatening episodes, but I heal and tolerate these episodes "better than most". Thanks for this video.
Fabulous video - I learned so much! I incorporate chia seeds everyday and have found my skin to be super bouncy and bright into my late 30s. Low and slow is my new kitchen mantra.

This was so informative, clear, concise and digestible. I was able to pause and make a list of each bullet point and could clearly understand what i was supposed to look for or avoid and WHY. Your level of in-depth explanation as to how these components work together is what makes me understand food/skin/anything in a new way and that is the type of learning that keeps me coming back!
Great advice. Glad to see board-certified dermatologists on youtube on a skincare regimen.
Yes. Red bell pepper is higher in Vitamin C vs. Kiwi and oranges
i have been eating these foods for 1 month .I stopped dairy except yogart added nuts stopped all sugar added
and drink lemon water. no grains no gluten no bread . i have gone from extreme pain in my feet and legs and my broken toe is better even though i am working full time nursing , your advice has helped me so much, thank you again .no.1 favorite channel and favorite Dr.
Organic whole intact grains are actually good, unless you have a sensitivity to some of them
I appreciate the common-sense whole-body approach you take in every video. I never really thought about slow-cooker dinners as being healthier, but of course that makes sense. Thanks for everything Dr. Dray :)))
When I started eating carrots regularly, I noticed my skin would start looking a bit clearer and brighter. This was really nice when I was oily and still getting some pimples. Convinced me that I likely didn't need any pills or biotin pills to make a difference in my skin.
Buying a $1 bag of carrots is a good snacking option in addition to apples. Carrot relish (with ginger) is delish too.

@@nadab4750 do you need to steam/ cook the carrot a bit? I heard it doesn't have too much potential when eating it raw ?
@@suzaku4878 Yes, steaming increases the bioavailability of carotenoids in carrots and lycopene in tomatoes . Slight cooking is better than raw, but anyday the raw carrot is better than a bag of chips.
@@cat_loves_curry5157 Thanks for your reply! :)
I started eating a total of five fruits and vegetables daily and in a few weeks already noticed my skin looks more hydrated. I’m cutting back as many processed foods as I can and sticking to whole foods. I also don’t drink alcohol at all and have never smoked in my life. I’m 32 and people think I’m in my early 20’s.
You’ve changed my skin ! I have flawless skin 🤍✨ YOU’RE THE BEST ! May God continue shinning his light on you , you’re a Blessing to so many ! Remember that 🤍🤍✨
thank you so much
Love it! Love this information, thank you. (Except soy milk if full of seed oils (to make it creamy), not healthy way to get the benefits of soy.)
I always put you on 2x playback speed. I do this to almost every video I watch; however, I find I can absorb your knowledge more attentively this way.
I think it's fun to notice how we cannot speak as fast as we can process.
I love when you give specific food examples. This is great. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this video
Happy Tuesday! I eat very well! I find all these fruits and vegetables in my diet!
Same to you!
I eat red bell pepper and berries almost everyday. My skin looks great, so I am told. Great info. thanks
I just discovered your channel. I have very good eating habits since my childhood! Your recommendations are excellent. My skin and face : flawless!!
This video made my buy a notebook and start taking notes during your videos
I LOVE carrots. I snack on them raw all the time & I cook w them 3x a wk at least.. I wonder if that’s why me & my husband look young for our age!
How do you prepare them?
I dont think its that simple, but keep eating them! I love them too ❤️
I like carrot juice😋
Higher in sugar
@@carolynaitken7632 I have a juicer at home and make carrot juice a few times a week. The only thing that is a pain is cleaning it up lol. Sometimes I make more for the rest of the week but I like it fresh too.
Dr. Ray, the best source of collagen is the chicken feet - also good for arthritis, and in vegetable is the molokhiya or saluyot
is full of collagen - now it was also discovered that helps in the fight of covid.
Love this video! I appreciate that you inform us with evidence based research and take the time to include the references for viewers. Ive heard that credibility is the currency of social media and you consistently bring it!! Thank you Dr. Dray.
I freaking love you for telling this it's so easy to understand even though we aren't experts on this stuff
This is a great channel 🧡 I'm 61 now and I have been vegetarian for most of my lifetime and I also suffered from migraines and clusters headaches extreme loss etc.. and now debilitating arthritis..The Pain showed up as wrinkles on my face no matter what I did..esp the last 10 years..I'm white and didn't go out in the sun ..I think some women are predisposed my family members are wrinkle free😊..Pain n stress are big skin agers😟..I always had great skin until later in Life..I hope to turn it around but cannot afford procedures.. just relying on nutrition and organic face products. I Pray As a Society We can eventually all accept Aging and Wrinkles and Grey Hair as part of a Woman's Glory She has earned from a lifetime of hard work and spiritual wisdom..
So true
i think societies that still have reverence for the wise elders accept aging and wrinkles and grey hair. society is all of us though, so w each individual acceptance there can b a collective. I'm not one of the accepting ones😊of course just for my own personal appearance. for stress and pain i use EFT/tapping and for detoxing and rejuvenation, i do raw food diet (when its warm) and juicing and intermittent fasting. takes years off of ur face and spirit for that matter.
If vegetarian why still have arthritis? Isn't being vegetarian can eliminate arthritis for not eating meat?
@@petsnaturetv1690 Many folks in India have arthritis and diabetes too and have been strict vegetarians their entire lives.. Honestly I'm not sure whether it's genetic or a lack of needed movement or more exercise..or a combination of sitting or years of too much athletics and repetitive movements.. Either way I know veganism or plant based diets can help many people with arthritis condition when shifting from heavy meat based diets..guess it depends on ones constitution.

Dairy is pro inflammatory too.
What a lovely clear concise explanation of what to eat and what not to eat. Easy to understand and though I do most of what is advised I still learnt more of what not to do. Absolutely lovely presentation. Thank you
"As we get wiser" - unfortunately not all people get wiser with age. Some get stuck on an emotional maturity level of a child until they pass away. Narcissists are a great example! Great video though, completely agree with Dr. Dray on this! 🙌❤️
Ain't that the truth :( I've witnessed two older 'gentlemen' almost getting into a fist fight in front of an ATM becuase they didn't want to wait in line 🤣
• Protein- Legumes

I didn't realize you were vegan. Thank you for your advice for us vegans! I love your channel! ♥
Regarding soy: Natto is probably the best form of soy. It's fermented soy beans, and it has an unbelievable nutritional profile. It has tons of vitamin K2 and is probiotic. You can order it from Rhapsody Natural Foods. They make a much better-tasting natto than Megumi.
Yes. My homeopathic told me to only have fermented soy. I’m allergic to soy, but Tempe and nato and the like don’t bug me, but only a little cuz hormone affects
Sharing this - my plate throughout the day looks like a rainbow and I’d like to make that happen for those around me 😋🌈
Thanks doc for this content ✌️
Thank you Andrea, I have made a list and sticking it onto the fridge :)
Could you talk about facial muscles at all? Some people are using muscle massage as a way to antiage? Thank you
Really useful information. Thank you Dr. Dray!
Thanks so much for sharing! Fun collagen fact: 1/4 of the proteins in the body are collagen proteins!
This video was like the best Doctors visit on everything you needed broken down and to hear! Thank you so much....you not just saved skin but potentially saved lives ❤️🥰
You may appreciate "FlavCity with Bobby Parrish"'s channel then, it's what he focuses on.
Orange pumpkins or long neck pumpkins?
Believe it or not carrots are good for night vision also
I’m a simple woman..I see Dr. Dray, I click 🤷🏻♀️
I love Dr Drays videos. I have been using tretinoin for many years but I think that more recently my led light mask has particularly helped my skin look brighter and more even toned.
Glycation!!!!! Thank you for bringing awareness of such an important concept!!!!!
Amazing facts thank you..but would be better to spice it up with diagrams and more pictures not get too boring since it's a long video
Thank you for sharing the latest and most objective, scientific info on food so all your followers can hear it. It is clear you genuinely strive to make a positive difference in the world!!!

And I was also contagious, so no family or f.riends
could come to help. Or even visit! Best of luck to followers of Dr. Dray. When she warns not to take a large amount of something, you must listen.
A hard lesson learned, and I hope to save someone else such a result. NO
fat soluable vitamin overdoses, please. (ADEK) The liver can only handle sooo much.
Wow so sry this happened to you!! How did you manage not to give it to your kids???
Loved u're vegan! I make Vegan Pizzas here in Brazil :)
I started taking Chia Seed Oil for sleep and my fingernails transformed. Found out it was good for collagen, as well.
Love the emphasis on total body health as opposed to just skin health! Have a beautiful day Dr. Dray! 💃
Fabulous video - I learned so much! I incorporate chia seeds everyday and have found my skin to be super bouncy and bright into my late 30s. Low and slow is my new kitchen mantra.
Are we adviced to take collagen supplement if we r having most of these in everyday
How about the yougart is it good
A fan of nutrition, thank you for always providing us with great content! ❤️❤️
thanks for watching
A Soul food favorite GREENS (Turnip, Mustard, Collard) has always contributed to the good skin health I was fortunate to have. This dish provides vit A, folic acid, Vit C and it’s literally stewed in a bone broth (smoked ham hocks) packed with collagen which also helps improve skin, hair and nails.
love it ❤️
can you do an updated skincare routine your skin looks PHENOMENAL
or has nothing changed and its just reverse aging from tretinoin? :)
@@triciatakanawa I want it too ! I heard it from impact theory...you ?
"Lookin at you, Pop Tart!" made me LOL! Dr Dray is the best! Fantastic information, well-balanced approach, and keeps the whole body/lifestyle in mind. Great stuff!
Liver is a real superfood. Tons of vitamin A...tons of most vitamins actually. Its especially beneficial for reproduction age women who lose heme iron each month.
❤🤍💙 Thank you doctor! Anyone else need a video for vegans 👌🏼
Love your NO BS approach. I’m a 6/2. 60yr old athletically built, daily heavy weight lifting CEO of a Human Stem Cells company. My Vietnamese GF owns a Pho Restaurant that serves organic beef bone Pho (soup)…. We try to eat 90% organic simple raw foods or non processed home cooked organic meals . My GF’s got me wearing long sleeve jackets and gloves when driving and using an umbrella when walking outdoors ….. hahahaha…… BTW, she’s 40 because I look youthful and healthy skin….. or maybe my being half white and Polynesian and 12% Chinese helps too maybe… thanks Mom and Dad….
Thx Doc
