The best streams always go by so fast.. But a little fun fact in DMC1 in one of the soundtracks I'm pretty sure you can hear the Merchant's theme from Resident Evil 4. The track is called "Serenity" but you can only hear it in the remake version of it or in the OG RE4. Happy thanksgiving!

Congrats on clearing the game on time. I don't want to imagine a timeline where you had to end the stream after one of the later bosses and then never getting to hear the legendary line on stream. The playthrough will be worth it in the end as you play the next two game.
Nice timing on getting this game and stream done in just under 7 hours. I remember completing this game took me many days over a couple of months when I was a teenager, and it felt like it was the hardest game ever. Only recently, I heard that the NA and PAL releases of the game back then on PS2 actually reduced Dante's damage output to 80% when playing on normal or hard mode. Maybe I was a better gamer than I thought or I'm just coping

It was such an entertaining stream and I simply enjoy seeing you having fun with one of my favourite games of all time. It’s true that many things could have been developed better but thinking about it, this was born and improvised from a Resident Evil that never came out for the lack of budget. In its own way Devil May Cry became quite an appreciated and loved series by many. Someone really important to me used to play DMC1 and 3 with me, we’ve been through a lot and she was so fond of Dante and Vergil. That’s why whenever I see someone else I care for enjoying the same, it just brings me some sort of happiness and nostalgia at the same time. But I really want to congratulate you for finishing the game in one go, I was actually rooting so much for you all the time and I tried to do my best to give advices based on my experiences from years ago. You don’t shy from asking for help when needed and I like how you absorbed the combos and followed easily our suggestions in chat. As usual I love your reactions, you’re the VTuber I literally prefer to watch the most from the beginning till the end without getting bored or tired at all. Your sense of humor and talking always keep me glued and involved in your streams and I’ll never get tired of it. And I’ve come to really enjoy and like you more and more through the time, especially for you being healthier and starting to consume more vegetables. I am happy you were able to finish the whole thing in one go and got to learn a bit more about the world of DMC. Definitely looking forward to DMC 4, I really like it and I hope you will too. I will say you continue to impress me with your amazing gaming skills, you literally were speeding through the levels without much trouble dodging and weaving and took out pretty much all the bosses pretty quickly. I think playing it so soon after DMC 3 help keep your muscle memory in, so hopefully DMC 4 soon, but no pressure if you wanna take a little break especially after that last boss battle with Mundus XD.

To you DMC1 might felt like chore that chat "pressured" you to do, but honestly I really really like this instalment in the series. The game being prototype of Resident Evil 4 left a making hard to see camera angles but also very nice horror-ish atmosphere(my favourite in the series so far) which I think the OST and ambient contribute greatly to. I also found fighting mechanics simple but very fun. Playing currently DMC3 maybe I get in time to play 4 before you started streaming it. Good luck with the meeting! Otsu!

The guns in Dmc1 were real guns, in Dmc3 you needed to shoot until your fingers broke to kill a monsterCongrats on getting through this game in less than 7 hours!
The problem with going through the games in chronological order is that not only is DMC1 still very much a prototype character action game with tons of leftover Resident Evil DNA, DMC1 Dante feels (and sounds) like a different person compared to how he is in the Itsuno games. On the other hand, if you skip 1, Trish just kind of pops out of nowhere in 4 and you miss a lot of important context for 5. I wish DMC1 got a remake that made it fit the rest of the series better.

The thing about why DMC 3 was made despite the failure of 2 was because it was already in production near the end of the DMC 2 production. Reuben said this in a interview recently.

Honestly, this is the first time I actually get to see DMC1, so this was fun =D A little side note: Maybe you'll want to watch the anime before playing the rest of the games. It's not super important, but there are a few details that happen in the anime that continue into DMC4 and 5. They aren't anything big, so you can ignore it if you want/don't have enough time, but since it's just 12 episodes, maybe you'd be interested
As someone who likes virtually every game, even bad ones, I found 2 to be an absolute chore to deal with. You can look up gameplay footage, it's just really dull and feels unsatisfying. Only reason I played was to understand why it was disliked (that and I wanted to try and get as many achievements as I could)

I know most people say to skip 2, but tbh everyone does, so *not* skipping 2 would be a nice change of pace. It's even shorter than 1 (about 3-4 hrs) and you'll learn why it has its reputation. Besides it did introduce elements that became the basis for some things in 3. Regardless, I'm glad you're having fun with DMC Irys and can't wait to watch more

DMC5 is likely to be the end of the franchise so Mundus isn’t coming back (if he was going to) ever unfortunately. Itsuno left Capcom to pursue his own ambitions (or so he says but I’m imagining a Kojima and Konami type of dispute perhaps) so DMC5 is basically the end of the series. It ends really well though so I can live with it even though no DMC6 is painful. Itsuno came back hard with DMC5 after DMC4 wasn’t well received by most fans when it was released about a decade earlier. Myself included in all honesty. Had it on the 360 and it was a good enough game but 3 outclasses it. The gameplay can get really stale and the final boss is… yeah. I still like the game, but it’s looked upon with rose tinted glasses nowadays compared to when it came out. The tone of the game is VERY DMC though. I think you’ll enjoy it for what it is, then be absolutely BLOWN AWAY by DMC5. It’s a love letter to the fans and I’m so glad I got to ride the rollercoaster when it got announced.
DMC 5 is not the end of the series as a whole, that was never the intention of the franchise revival. Itsuno came back to make a new game cause he wanted to. If capcom allowed him to and that what happen. The game is certainly a love letter to the franchise, but not the culmination of all of it. That never was something confirmed. Plus, mundus will return someday in a future installment. Otherwise Nero wouldn't be push to be the new protagonist currently

You know, I think they actually should do a remake of this game. It's good in it own way - I really like more gothic feel of it all - but it really feels like a prototype and they hadn't really figured out the identity of the series back then. It's just kinda weird to think of it as a sequel to DMC3, especially with the later games doubling down on Dante's personality and style. Also Dante and Trish don't interact nearly enough for them to have the kind of connection they display at the end. This game could really have benefited from more plot and character scenes. Oh well. Looking forward to IRyS having a go at DMC4.

Congrats on Finishing DMC1! It's a very old, very Janky game with lots of frustrating things, but it's undeniably made with a lot of (dark) soul that's filled with LiIiIgHt! If you look hard enough, you can see the roots of how DMC3 was made and how the franchise evolved thanks to this game (we don't talk about DMC2) PD: Everyone likes to talk about how DMC1 was supposed to be RE4, but did you know that most of the textures made from this game were made from actual photographs mostly taken by Makoto Tsuchibayashi, character creator of the game?

The best streams always go by so fast.. But a little fun fact in DMC1 in one of the soundtracks I'm pretty sure you can hear the Merchant's theme from Resident Evil 4. The track is called "Serenity" but you can only hear it in the remake version of it or in the OG RE4. Happy thanksgiving!

I've been seriously thinking about how much you'd laugh at that "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with LIIIIGHT *voice crack*" scene for literal years at this point And yeh skippa skippa 2, but don't forget to watch the DMC3 secret ending.

I remember completing this game took me many days over a couple of months when I was a teenager, and it felt like it was the hardest game ever.
Only recently, I heard that the NA and PAL releases of the game back then on PS2 actually reduced Dante's damage output to 80% when playing on normal or hard mode. Maybe I was a better gamer than I thought or I'm just coping

The corny dialogue in this game though, and the ending of escaping from explosion. That's so Resident Evil. It's clear how this was the prototype RE4 before they changed it.
It was such an entertaining stream and I simply enjoy seeing you having fun with one of my favourite games of all time. It’s true that many things could have been developed better but thinking about it, this was born and improvised from a Resident Evil that never came out for the lack of budget.
In its own way Devil May Cry became quite an appreciated and loved series by many. Someone really important to me used to play DMC1 and 3 with me, we’ve been through a lot and she was so fond of Dante and Vergil. That’s why whenever I see someone else I care for enjoying the same, it just brings me some sort of happiness and nostalgia at the same time.
But I really want to congratulate you for finishing the game in one go, I was actually rooting so much for you all the time and I tried to do my best to give advices based on my experiences from years ago. You don’t shy from asking for help when needed and I like how you absorbed the combos and followed easily our suggestions in chat.
As usual I love your reactions, you’re the VTuber I literally prefer to watch the most from the beginning till the end without getting bored or tired at all. Your sense of humor and talking always keep me glued and involved in your streams and I’ll never get tired of it. And I’ve come to really enjoy and like you more and more through the time, especially for you being healthier and starting to consume more vegetables. I think it’s a very positive thing for your health (not gonna lie though when you go unfiltered I really have a huge crush on you xD)

Please don't worry about cheesing, or items or whatnot, we were speed running for your meeting time. I am happy you were able to finish the whole thing in one go and got to learn a bit more about the world of DMC. Definitely looking forward to DMC 4, I really like it and I hope you will too. I will say you continue to impress me with your amazing gaming skills, you literally were speeding through the levels without much trouble dodging and weaving and took out pretty much all the bosses pretty quickly. I think playing it so soon after DMC 3 help keep your muscle memory in, so hopefully DMC 4 soon, but no pressure if you wanna take a little break especially after that last boss battle with Mundus XD.

Congrats on finishing DMC1, IRyS! You're seriously a good gamer, and I'm not even joking about it! Also I'm removing my rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia when I say that, yes, it's a very dated game. It had lots of "old school" gaming habits such as lives (yorbs), restarting the level after losing all lives and the static camera from old PS1 games. All the same, it holds well enough despite it being dated and I'm glad that you enjoyed it amidst the jank!

To you DMC1 might felt like chore that chat "pressured" you to do, but honestly I really really like this instalment in the series. The game being prototype of Resident Evil 4 left a making hard to see camera angles but also very nice horror-ish atmosphere(my favourite in the series so far) which I think the OST and ambient contribute greatly to. I also found fighting mechanics simple but very fun. Playing currently DMC3 maybe I get in time to play 4 before you started streaming it. Good luck with the meeting! Otsu!

The guns in Dmc1 were real guns, in Dmc3 you needed to shoot until your fingers broke to kill a monsterCongrats on getting through this game in less than 7 hours!
DMC 3 guns were just combos extenders
And in DMC2 the guns were your primary damage
guns in dmc3 pretty stonked with Gunslinger style
The problem with going through the games in chronological order is that not only is DMC1 still very much a prototype character action game with tons of leftover Resident Evil DNA, DMC1 Dante feels (and sounds) like a different person compared to how he is in the Itsuno games. On the other hand, if you skip 1, Trish just kind of pops out of nowhere in 4 and you miss a lot of important context for 5.
I wish DMC1 got a remake that made it fit the rest of the series better.

The thing about why DMC 3 was made despite the failure of 2 was because it was already in production near the end of the DMC 2 production. Reuben said this in a interview recently.

Honestly, this is the first time I actually get to see DMC1, so this was fun =D
A little side note: Maybe you'll want to watch the anime before playing the rest of the games. It's not super important, but there are a few details that happen in the anime that continue into DMC4 and 5. They aren't anything big, so you can ignore it if you want/don't have enough time, but since it's just 12 episodes, maybe you'd be interested
I totally understand why 1 and 2 are less talked about than the rest of the DMCs. Still, any game is fun with IRyS, she fills my dark soul with light
2 basically does not have a story. It feels more like you're playing an extended demo, and then it just ends.
2 is so looked down on that even DMC 5 barely cares to explain what happened in it. 😂
As someone who likes virtually every game, even bad ones, I found 2 to be an absolute chore to deal with. You can look up gameplay footage, it's just really dull and feels unsatisfying. Only reason I played was to understand why it was disliked (that and I wanted to try and get as many achievements as I could)

1 is basically only necessary for the story but you can't even say that about 2, dmc 5 ties together every game and references the anime and the NON-CANON REBOOT more than dmc 2 which is crazy

I know most people say to skip 2, but tbh everyone does, so *not* skipping 2 would be a nice change of pace. It's even shorter than 1 (about 3-4 hrs) and you'll learn why it has its reputation. Besides it did introduce elements that became the basis for some things in 3. Regardless, I'm glad you're having fun with DMC Irys and can't wait to watch more

DMC5 is likely to be the end of the franchise so Mundus isn’t coming back (if he was going to) ever unfortunately. Itsuno left Capcom to pursue his own ambitions (or so he says but I’m imagining a Kojima and Konami type of dispute perhaps) so DMC5 is basically the end of the series. It ends really well though so I can live with it even though no DMC6 is painful.
Itsuno came back hard with DMC5 after DMC4 wasn’t well received by most fans when it was released about a decade earlier. Myself included in all honesty. Had it on the 360 and it was a good enough game but 3 outclasses it. The gameplay can get really stale and the final boss is… yeah. I still like the game, but it’s looked upon with rose tinted glasses nowadays compared to when it came out. The tone of the game is VERY DMC though. I think you’ll enjoy it for what it is, then be absolutely BLOWN AWAY by DMC5. It’s a love letter to the fans and I’m so glad I got to ride the rollercoaster when it got announced.
Saying DMC5 is the end is jumping the gun. We are getting that new anime so more games could happen
DMC 5 is not the end of the series as a whole, that was never the intention of the franchise revival. Itsuno came back to make a new game cause he wanted to. If capcom allowed him to and that what happen.
The game is certainly a love letter to the franchise, but not the culmination of all of it. That never was something confirmed.
Plus, mundus will return someday in a future installment. Otherwise Nero wouldn't be push to be the new protagonist currently

You know, I think they actually should do a remake of this game. It's good in it own way - I really like more gothic feel of it all - but it really feels like a prototype and they hadn't really figured out the identity of the series back then. It's just kinda weird to think of it as a sequel to DMC3, especially with the later games doubling down on Dante's personality and style. Also Dante and Trish don't interact nearly enough for them to have the kind of connection they display at the end. This game could really have benefited from more plot and character scenes.
Oh well. Looking forward to IRyS having a go at DMC4.

Air Hike is a must-have? Chat really forcing their opinions on the streamer as in each and every DMC series game stream. It certainly is useful but Inferno which IRyS wanted to go for just ends enemies so quickly that a dbl jump really isn't needed. Kinda impressed she managed to go though that quickly. Am I always wasting too much time on secret missions?
There IS A Mod that fixes DMC 2 called Definitive Edition but I do understand not messing with it since it's not official.

Congrats on Finishing DMC1! It's a very old, very Janky game with lots of frustrating things, but it's undeniably made with a lot of (dark) soul that's filled with LiIiIgHt!
If you look hard enough, you can see the roots of how DMC3 was made and how the franchise evolved thanks to this game (we don't talk about DMC2)
PD: Everyone likes to talk about how DMC1 was supposed to be RE4, but did you know that most of the textures made from this game were made from actual photographs mostly taken by Makoto Tsuchibayashi, character creator of the game?
Finishing the game in less than 7 hours? That's my push even getting used to the old camera work. In every door sound I could hear the doors from original RE 3 lol I can see why this was planned to be RE4, but I'm glad it went it's own way, the quotes and style have been super fun
