Splendid interview!
I just read Charlie’s wonderful autobiography again. For years I’ve thought that a Chaplin miniseries would be the only way to capture the full scope of his truly amazing life. The film “Chaplin” was very well done but it just scratched the surface.
Spencer what an excellent interview. Wonderful hearing about your grandparents love for each other - be proud.
An honor to hear you and your dad
You definitely look like and have the same smiles as charlie .he was great!
I see Oona and Charlie in Eugene's 😊 smile.
Great interview Spencer - I really loved hearing the stories about your dad and David Bowie!
Can’t say it enough Charlie Chaplin was way before his time BRILLIANT MAN
Lovely interview by Spencer with his Dad Eugene Chaplin. Beautiful, exciting and historical memories... in a warm & pleasant atmosphere! Thank you for all this!
Your dad, Eugene is so charming. I love hearing his stories and memories. Thank you for sharing.
BROOKLYN New York, GoD Bless u For keeping The Original King of Comedys Legacy Alive
I admire Charlie Chaplin. His contribution to the world and humanity is amazing and you both are so lucky and have good genes!! 💗
amazing, interesting and lovely interview! such a pleasure to listen to both of you! thank you so much
Thank you Eugene y Spencer. You each look like Charlie in your own way.
When I was a little girl in VN, I always looking forward to watch “ Charlie films” - that was what we called it which were showed on TV once a month. His films were very very popular in VN . Even a farmer that lived a a rural farmland knew about him . I remembered after the movies, us kids sat around and talked about the movie we just watched and asked each other what was each other’s favorite part. When I got to America, I went to the library and watched all his movies again and again in the 80’s. There is no other Charlie Chaplin in our life time. 👏👍❤️
I enjoyed this even more the second time.
I’d love to interview your dad.
Since I remember I have loved Charlie Chaplin's movies. Even today full of stress time for me I have seen his movies on youtube and I had genuine laugh :) . This is how I found your channel. It is wonderful to have an oportunity to find more about him and his family. Thank you🙂😚
Can you do another one of these? This was so lovely.
Spencer, I enjoy your insights and exploration of Charlie and his life and art. I would have liked to ask your father if there's any truth to the story that Jerry Lewis came to the Chaplin home in Vevey and spent perhaps over a week there, enjoying the company and hospitality of the Chaplin family. This had to have happened in the 60s.
Lewis says that he exchanged movies with Chaplin. Lewis gave Chaplin a 35mm print of "The Bellboy," and Chaplin gave Lewis a 35mm print of "Modern Times."
Can anyone in your family vouch for that? I just never heard this story recounted in any Chaplin book, and we only know about this from Lewis. Can you verify?
That was a hoot. Very interesting!
New fan here since a couple of months ago of 2021 of Charlie Chaplin😊😊I am very intrigued about his great talents as an actor, composer, husband and father. Thank you for the great show conducted by Spencer and your father Eugene🙏🙏
Great interview Spencer! I am am a huge fan of your grandfather's. I, like Kevin Brownlow, believe him to be the single greatest figure in the history of cinema. For about 2 years I worked just 100 feet from the stage where he shot the Mutuals at the Lone Star Studio. This was very close to the Chaplin Studios where all his great films were made. So I felt connected to Chaplin in this way. Your dad told some great stories. As a fan of Queen, Yes and other bands that have recorded at Mountain Studios, I would love to hear more about that part of his life. I we plan to visit Chaplin's World one day. I can only imagine the anguish involved in making the decision to convert their home into a museum must have been like. A beautiful gesture really. Anyway, I think it would be important for you to interview all your aunts and uncles. Thank you!
Excellent presentation! Really enjoyed it!
That was a fantastic and fascinating interview featuring great stories of Charlie but also great insight into Eugene's career. Thank you x
Loved this ❤️
The piano and violin scene with Charlie and buster Keating so funny,😂😂😂😂😂😂,they were the comedians of comedy ,rest in peace to them, and others of their time like Lauren and hardy extra, they may be gone but there not forgotten, thank you for making me and others before me laugh, amen,😂🌈💙🐦👏
Very nice interview, Spencer. Nice to see your dad looking well too.
Speaking of Netflix’s Spencer you an ur Dad would be Perfect you as young Chaplin an ur Dad older
This was great 👍
A miniseries would be great. I feel that it could cover topics that the movie "Chaplin" didn't cover such as you grandfather making his films and how much work he put into it, as well as his time in Switzerland and his life there. Robert Downey Jr. needs to definitely reprise the role of your grandfather.
I agree, that would be great. It’s hard to fit his life story into one single movie… thanks for watching 👍
Anytime. I just read that the film Chaplin was actually suppose to be a four hour movie but it got cut down 2 hours.
Spencer Thank You an ur Dad he’s so Rite Manners are becoming a thing of past it’s so Sad it’s one of things I Admire about Charlie Chaplin such Wonderful Man
Thankyou so much.I really enjoyed this..Your father is a very humble man just like yourself..Spencer at what age did you realise you had a famous grandfather and how did affect you growing up..And did you ever meet your grandmother..Thankyou.
Love it ! Très intéressant, Merci
🎥 I look forward to seeing The Countess from Hong Kong. I’ve seen most of your Grandfather’s other, public films. 21:21; ❤️

Hi Spencer, thank you for a great interview. But why did you ignore my (hard) question? After all, when a man like your dad gets to a certain age, he wants to live deeply.... (yes, I am quoting Limelight). As someone who was a former carer who can barely walk but still performs professionally, not to mention being a suicide attempt survivor, it’s a film I closely relate to... very... and it restored my will to live... but I digress.. why DID you leave out my question? Hmm? 🤔
Rona, Spencer is probably busy answering loads of questions from fans like you,I'm sure he will reply to you as soon as he can,it's a year later since you wrote your letter and I hope Spencer replayed to you,it's been a tough year for everyone; with the covid epidemic; with thousands that have died, rest in peace to them, so hopefully your ok,God bless you,be strong,💙🐦🌈🌼👍
Spencer being new channel haven’t seen everything yet have u ever went Hollywood an Seen places Charlie Chaplin lived an were his Studio was just tour
Why did Charlie Chaplin go To Switzerland not back to England
Was your dad affectionate?
Who in your family still live in Switzerland?
Spencer, what do you for living?
On all my research watched Mary was jealous of Charlie in my opinion the relationship he had with Douglas Fairbanks an money he made was more than her she was sweet Lady tho
