I was able to meditate 3 or 4 hours a day when I was a nun in a Hindu (Vedanta) convent because the life was regulated. Now that I am Catholic, disabled, senior, living alone, my schedule is all over the place. I used to blame it on my insomnia. These videos have really helped me. No excuses now. I need to write a rule of life and program the times into my telephone. I am SO grateful for Fr. Ripperger.
God Bless you
How is your prayer life now? Honestly.
What do Hindus meditate on for 3 to 4 hours? Just curious.
Once I get mass and pray the holy rosary every day...
I can’t sit still but when I thought about my prayer life, I can spend up to 2-4 hours a day. If God allows and I can put things aside.
The best channel on UA-cam for our journey to Heaven
Totally agree
No doubt
I agree 100% and I wish every Catholic could watch these wonderful true teachings of our Church🙏🏻
I'm just wondering who are the 99 👎 downlikes. 🤔
No doubt about it...Not a day goers by that I don’t listen to at least one if not two or three videos from this channel
Fr. Ripperger, you are a great teacher with great lessons, and a wonderful priest! God Bless you!
I second this. I have learned so much from Fr. Ripperger.
@@VO_JayRedding Me too 🙋♀️🙏🏻🕊️
Definitely....I second that father Ripperger is a legend,I can listen to him for hours
Thank you God for giving us Fr. Ripperger. ❤🙏
Finally I get meditation. Pick an aspect of the faith, converse with God about it. Thank you Fr Ripperger
The more I listen to this talk, again and again, the more able I am to understand its details and begin to arrange my life in accordance with its teachings and study and follow its recommendations (The Ways of Mental Prayer by Lehodey for example). This is a great teaching all Catholics should know: "Mystical contemplation is not the prerogative of saints, it’s the natural progression that every single person whose advancing in the spiritual life is supposed to obtain”.
I also must listen over and over. It is amazing what I miss each time.
@@ArizonaWillful true 😯
The Ways of Mental Prayer by Lehodey is now available as free audiobook on Classic Catholic Audiobooks UA-cam channel
I want to be in union with the Holy Trinity and the Saints and Angels. Sweet Jesus I ask you to bring me to you. Make me holier, by the blood of your Cross, I pray. Amen I love this priest and his sermons.
Non Catholic who uses the rosary and listen to teachings (Anglican UK we are flexible enough to have those with an Anglican rosary!). That Father Ripperger is quite something else!❤️❤️❤️💐💐💐
Are you Catholic now?
Me too! Agreed.
I would like to know how many of you out there believe that we should kneel at communion? What would you do if some night while going to bed and Jesus appeared to you in all his glory. The whole room lit up with a light that was blinding. What would you do?? I would fall on my knees. Get my point?he is there in communion the same way . Body, blood, soul and divinity.
.
I agree with you, but - remembering that God permits as well as prevents - we must still be obedient to HIS church and HE has permitted this. When HE is ready, it will be changed.
And also, nothing prevents you from kneeling and receiving Him on your tongue. It is the rule that you can receive Him how you wish. There is a lady in our parish who kneels, right there on the tile. I wear a veil (usually the only one) and receive on the tongue. I get in line for the priest and not any of the 'Eucharistic ministers'. I would kneel except my knees don't allow me, though if there was a railing ect, I could probably manage it.
That's right!! STAY OUT of the "Eucharistic Ministers" line...spread the word, and make an example. Hopefully soon, people will catch on and nobody will go into their line. One can only hope. NOBODY should be touching the Body Of Christ EXCEPT the Ordained priest or Deacon, maybe a seminarian.
markymarc b i noticed last sunday quite a long line in front of the priest refused to go to the E.M. even when she motioned to them several times. it's happening.
Lark Bird awesome....that's the only way we're gonna make a point.
I do kneel and recive communion only from the priest because I think only consecrated hands are worthy of touching our Lord in the eucharist. It is my way of saying by example we need to kneel and recieve only from a Priest. I am likely the only one doing this in a very large parrish in long island NY
I care what is right to my lord not what humans think.
11:38 "non stop yacking" lol. Yep, that's Mass today, just like TV. If it gets quiet people don't know what to do, there is no popcorn. It's hard to pray in church today.
oh, HOW TRUE!
For me it was chiquitita
While living in Spain where my little girl was born
I am blessed to attend mass at a church where most people are quiet and reverent.
Not at the Traditional Latin Mass. But when I attend my son's parish, I can not easily pray because of the loud almost continuous protestant loud guitar 'music'.
AMEN.
Truth is spoken here. Thank you Fr.!
This information is so basic to living a good life. And I am grateful to learn and have the chance to grow in my love for God.
God Bless you Father! Always so good listening to you
Thank you, Father Ripperger. Since my conversion in 2020 I have listened to your conference talks and homilies almost daily. Revisiting this series for a 3rd or 4th time. I am so grateful to God for the TRUTH that you have conveyed so effectively to your listeners.
You sound like me! I'm a convert too and his videos have been a huge part of my learning.
I just purchased Fr. Ripperger book Dominion. So good!!
@@yeshua1st amen, it’s a wonderful book for your library, an indispensable aid! Thank God our Father in heaven for Fr Ripperger. Why would anyone "thumb-down" this wonderful priest and teacher? To not appreciate or understand these gifts which he has given so freely to everyone is something that I never want to not be able to partake in. Thank you Father Ripperger.
I remember hearing someone say, "Prayer is speaking to God. Meditation is listening." Just an interesting thought. )'_'(
Father Ripperger in addition when you stop praying or become lukewarm 1) you feel empty; 2)unprotected by the visible and the indivisible; 3) and the bad dreams kick in; 4) the temptations are great; your mind tells you do what is contradictory to God's teachings e g., wishing bad fortune toward someone who has hurt you deeply; resenting and despise this person with a passion.
Thank you for these wonderful advices m. I truly would like to participate in one of your Mass and get a blessing from you.
Its wonderful to hear the true faith being taught. Thank you so much for Father, I pray that God will bless you in your ministry.
My wife and I have listened to this multiple times. A couple of weeks ago we awoke to find both had very similar dreams that night. We were both hugged by a tall man in a black suit and top hat that whispered something in our ear. For my part the simple statement that was said left me confused and questioning. After contemplating, that statement was to let me know it knows all of my weaknesses. Thank you for all you do Fr and know you are helping us more than you could know. Every day is a step forward. My God and my All, Amen.
thank you for this...this is like listening to your spiritual director...thank you father and sensus fidelium
Father Ripperger says it like it is, in a way even a child could get it. Please pray for my children to come back to the church. One of them calls himself agnostic - agnostic/ atheist not a big difference agnostic oh I believe in something but doesn't know what. The other stopped because her husband's step grandma said she'd never accept him, claiming to be Catholic,so he won't have any thing to do with church. My heart is broken. Please pray for us all in Jesus name, and I thank God in advance for answering my prayers . God bless Father Ripperger, AMEN, ALLELUIA JMJ 🙏🙏🙏
Have masses offered for them. Look up the Life offering devotion, which promises your family members won’t be lost. As does the 7 Our Fathers & 7 Hail Mary’s, saints have been told about this devotion by Jesus.
Thank you, Fr Ripperger!
Love Father Rippinger and all his Advice ❤
Why doesn't every priest tell us we have to pray to be saved?
They're not praying enough themselves.....
@@glennlanham6309 and that is because we are not praying enough for them...
@Patrick Montgomery you must be new to the internet. When you type in all caps, nobody listens to you because you sound like a screaming 10 year old.
And I don't care about your interpretation of the Bible, it's just your opinion.
@Patrick Montgomery I see you did not try reading. You're still acting like a child screaming at the top of your lungs with all caps. Try acting like an adult, like scripture says if you don't have charity you're just a clashing symbol.
I know the correct interpretation of the Bible because I have the teaching Magisterium of the Church which has the authority to interpret. All you have is your own opinion, everything you say about scripture is simply you guessing what it means. That is why there is over 50,000 different denominations of protestantism, each of you takes the Bible and decides to interpret it for yourself, and you have 50,000 different interpretations for one book. Like scripture says, you have been sifted like wheat.
@Patrick Montgomery based upon your poor grammar and screaming at the top of your lungs, I will assume you're 10 years old.
Heresy. That special moment when, you have greater spiritual insight than the Apostles, Disciples, Apostolic Fathers, the Church, and the Magestirium because you have a Bible that they wrote, compiled and gave you.
Important things to remember, Jesus Christ Himself founded the Catholic Church and said the gates of hell would not prevail against it.
The Catholic Church did not come from the Bible, the Bible came from the Catholic church in the 4th century. Since it is a Catholic book, only the Church can interpret it.
You claim yourself as the sole Authority with nothing to back it up. But you do you.
Grateful for all Fr. Ripperger's conferences.
Prayers in the morning and hanky panky at night? So pray at the watches of the night.
In bed?
I couldn't understand why I struggled recently with mental prayer. Now I see that I hadn't really understood it and had not persevered but had neglected this aspect of my spiritual life. Thank you so much for your help with this. God bless you.
you have nothing without the inner spiritual life.
Thanks so much for your teaching and time. God I thank you for this priest. ..
Great great channel with encouragement and light
May God bless you Father
I love this app,.Sensus Fideleum but I love hearing Fr. Ripperger. I've only heard a few of his homilies-conferances it reminds me of the time when I was little and so in love with Jesus , when I played Mary Magdalene and I actually thought of Jesus and I started to cry. The nun asked me what's wrong with you girl. I told her how I loved him, she asked who the boy, I said no Jesus. She screams blasphemy and makes me kneel in the corner. I swear the rest of the time, I was happy because I knew I came closer to God. Jesus I love you, adore you, glorify & praise you,. never leave me,ever. Amen
one thing that i have found to be very good to do in meditation is to see Christ crucified, and feel empathy and love for him, reach forth your hand and offer it to him.
I do similar, but l just stand quietly adjacent to the foot of the cross, in solidarity.
Beautiful image, thank you
@29:18!!! WOW 😮 that was for me!!!!! THANK YOU 🙏🏻 FATHER
& YES, the 2nd hour is when it truly gets good, most definitely especially in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament🤍 …… 🕯🕯🕯
I would totally add to this; St Ignatius of Loyola’s advice for meditation; his advice for the Morning and Evening Examen. And his rules for discernment of spirits for beginners and advanced souls, as to how to recognise the Holy Spirit’s direction within those meditations. St Ignatius of Loyola also wrote recommendations for how to meditate on scripture by imagining the scene and imagine yourself in that story and interact with Jesus with questions etc. (St Theresa of Avila said initially, for years; her meditation was just holding the picture in her mind of her prostrate at Jesus’ feet, and that all graces in her life up until then came through that meditation).
Thanks, this is good info.
Thank you for this
Please share this. Everyone needs to know.
Thank you Rev.Father.
Thanks!
I’d like to suggest a book. It was written for busy housewives, but now applies to everyone in our way too busy world. It’s called “Too busy for God? Think again”. The author is Louise D’Angelo. It is available on Amazon USA and UK. About the yakking..tired of hearing about the footie scores and the latest shoe. Wholly disrespectful first to Jesus, second, to everyone else. I don’t know if this helps, but when I have distractions, rather than fight them, I invite Jesus or Our Lady into the distraction..an image works best, but also a thought about their lives, or about Joseph’s sacrifice, whatever. Fighting distractions doesn’t work on our own. It’s very tough.
God Bless you Fr, thank you!
Jesus said, I came that you may have life and have it to the full, and Amen Lord I have what you have promised
Simplicity: Fixed on one object...supernatural.
Mystical contemplation
The segment on posture was very edifying for me. My back is not in great shape and can't really kneel all the time for prayer, especially without getting distracted by the pain.
Prayers for you Father! Thank you, and God Bless you!
Thank you for sharing this information and session 🙏
Thank you Father Ripperger. I received much grace through an Ignation retreat in regards to mental prayer. Queen of peace, pray for us.
This is exactly what I needed to hear about how I am praying and answered so many questions about why my mind wants to go off and focus or contemplate such very specific aspects of faith and God, and that it’s ok to meditate on them within oral prayer, like one is drawn to something irresistible...meditation on Him and tremendously peaceful prayer to know Him better, and coming out of it so reluctantly. and to know now God Himself was leading me the right way and I just needed to trust Him by knowing Him.
In my not very enlightened opinion these teaching are authentic and excellent . Thank you Father Ripperger such a helpful video.. I was born a Catholic and I will die a Catholic it’s is THE universal church. I also adore Buddhism.
Fr. Ripperger refers to Bishop Sheen's question to the priest who wanted to quit as being 'When did you stop praying?' and the man's response being 'Around a year ago.' What I recall was Bishop Sheen asking the man when did he stop praying his OFFICE. The divine office is a required duty for the priesthood ... so not doing THAT was not a simple matter of not praying ... but a direct act of disobedience to his priestly vow. ... God bless Fr. Ripperger and the work of his group. God bless Bishop Sheen's prayers. He was my 1st contact with Catholicism ... around 11 years old ... on TV. I felt the impact of God coming from him ... sadly my protestant mother did not like the fact I was responding ... TV access was restricted from then on ... [but memory is not perfect & God bless my mother where ever she did good things for her family ... and she did a lot there]
Second time I am listening to this lecture. Excellent.
Thank you Fr Ripperer! For teaching us the Truth and beauty that has been withheld by the church forr the past 60 years.. I NEVER got any of this in years of Catholic school (elementary middle and HS. ) ex. Never taught proper way to say rosary w mysteries, etc. (ONLY repetitions of Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be's.) But we WERE.shown movies in grade school Inherit the Wind and Future Shock (LBGT.) I finally left in HS bc in religion class we were still making stupid construction paper collage cut outs of multiple colored hands interlocking with no substance in theology that I was looking for. (1970s.) To see all of your videos gives a very comprehensive understanding
I’m truly sorry. I also attended Catholic schools. The nuns raised my soul as lovingly as my grandmother raised my mind and body. I would be nothing without the nuns.
Not a comment: note to self, Listen to this again and take notes so I don't forget. Order the book noted
Pray thanks honor glory love adoration mercy trust we love you fiat
thank you Fr for this.
Phenomenal the points of Grace and justice fullfilment. And the connection of passions/ sins and culture insanity make me want to meditate on those aspects alone . Whole lecture absolute golden .
Thank you father
I'm a fan of meditation from the buddhist and mindfulness traditions. So, it's enjoyable to see that it's something that is important in the Catholic faith. I honestly, don't know why it's not mentioned or talked about enough.
Buddhists don't meditate, as they don't have a object of meditation while "meditating".
Because Catholicism got dumbed down, cultural amnesia, but now we know where to find all this information. And we don't have to go east to find ourselves, when we can stay still and find the source.
Thanks, Father. That was really informative.
Thank you.
Artwork helps me meditate. Thank you Father. Penanceware.
Thanks be to God! DEO gratias!
That was the best sermon I have ever heard

....and in order to know Him, we have to know scripture. That helps us to meditate. Can't love someone we don't know😢

Thank you Father Ripperger for all of your videos. Your two videos on Meditation are very helpful so myself and others engage in authentic Catholic Meditation to know, love and serve God, and not new age meditation that ultimately leads to mental illness and sin. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I will continue praying for you daily. I wish you were my Spiritual Director. Would it be possible for you to make utube videos and or write a book on Spiritual Direction? I have been looking for a Spiritual Direction since 1979 and and still looking. Beautiful ❣❣❣
I except you Lord as my Savior, leader, my sculptor to salvation.
One thing I found funny with that father ripperger said was a rosary takes 15 minutes well I know the rosary is a vocal prayer but it's also a meditative prayer cuz my rosaries take from 25 to 30 minutes because I'm usually meditating along the way on the Mysteries or other things pertaining to my faith but fighting off distraction also.
I thought my knees would hurt kneeling, but I actually find it comfortable. Even at the Parish I grew up going to doesn't have kneelers so I have to kneel on the floor. Unless I have something in front of me, I have to make sure I don't press my gut up agents it.
I would like to see a schematic diagram with goals at the top and a tree of graduated branches and levels to get there. Fr. Ripperger flips back and forth with labels for the prayer types and levels comfortably ... like my wife does in her missal. As a convert I get lost and frustrated in the flips. Sooo one step at a time. I did get the book 'The ways of mental prayer by Dom Lehodey. Lent is coming ... and the 3 days of darkness ... Would like to get one of the foundational layers functional before my trial period is over.
Trying to view ALL sacred iconography and statuary with reverence as attempted reflection of our kind gracious beautiful Lord.
Let's do this !
St Joseph, patron of the Catholic Church, intercede for us

If prayer is always talking to God that is SO ME! I included the divine mercy everyday because I really want to forgive and have mercy with Jesus. I think I confused forgiveness to that of forgetting and avoidance. As per entering that fixed still prayer happened to me once. Everything disappears. It's hard to descend back to earth. Of course, I am attacked even more!

I feel like Father Ripperger is saying it’s too hard to be holy. Leaves me feeling defeated.
It's entirely impossible to be holy... without God's grace. And entirely possible with God's grace. There's no reason to feel defeated, just set yourself up to receive every grace God gives. Fr. Ripperger's talks are generally aimed at helping you to order yourself toward receiving those graces rather than rejecting them.

Communion in the hand !! I don't like this practice of putting the body of out Lord in my hand or anyone else's hand either. Who knows where your hands were before communion. My hands are not fit to touch our Lord. I think the church should take a look at what they are doing. Why change? God hasn't changed . Think about it!
Francis Caviani absolutely mate
I agree. And Holy Communion in my humble opinion should be given only be a Priest. Thats why the Tridentine Mass which nurtured our ancestors should once again become the norm. It doesn't compromise or conform because Holy Mother Church shouldn't have to conform to us, we need to conform to her. No Holy Communion in the hand, no lay Eucharistic ministers, the way it should be. Blessed Mother please pray for the Church And Glory be to God
Yes, I agree. Plus it's less likely that someone would steal a consecrated host.
My tongue is not fit as well.
If it isn't a priest, at least they could dress up. Last time one of the persons giving out the host was wearing shorts and a teeshirt! This is DISGUSTING in its lack of reverence. Who raised these young people?
It is extremely difficult when you have kids. Any free time I have is either in prayer or studying Christianity. I just need to get an understanding of meditative prayer.
bring the kids with you. make it part of the daily ritual. they will get used to it and learn to love the together time with you.

I am a roman Catholic from the Netherlands, here is so much wrong our, confessions boots are now full of cleaning stuff and we have 1 moment a week for a confession or we need to make a appointment, i want to go to a latin mass in need to drive 85 km,
find a traditional church. even if it's far away. your eternal soul depends on it! peace be with you!
Thomas Merton said "The very straws under my knees shout to distract me from prayer".
If that book is a "bit dry" I'm hoping that means straight to the point, which is what I like.
People should be praying all 15 decades of the rosary daily, each day, each and every day. Children should be praying 5 decades of the rosary daily. The reason for 5 decades for children is that children have less sins to contend with than adults. In this time of troubles that we are experiencing as Catholics we perhaps do not have access to a priest for reconciliation as we used to have but we are experiencing sins perhaps more than normal, than before a couple of years past. Bishop Williamson recommends 15 decades daily. The extra prayers done are not wasted as Jesus will find a suitable place to direct the extra prayers.
Having to pray for salvation sounds in a way like works based salvation. That is our salvation is based on what we do. Someone could boast I am saved because I prayed while this other person isn't. Yet Paul tells us salvation comes from grace so no one can boast of works.
Agreed
