I know what Fr. Ripperger is saying is the truth, because it's everything I learned in Catholic school in the 50s. It's so comforting to hear these things again. I listened to both parts and the time flew by!!!

Funny how many of us are watching this on some device. How ever he is spot on.!!!! Tech is good but does keep putting us in a constant state of dictation . Even though you can watch Holy things there is nothing like sitting and meditating with no distractions. It makes a HUGE difference and a much more intimate. You become to simply be In love with Him. Not for just what He can do for you. This is why the apostles even found joy with Him in suffering. Either way He does this to bring us closer to Him and absolutely perfect love with Him . NO one can ever take that away. God Bless

I will say though a lot more time listening to spiritually edifying videos and less on current events has been doing wonders for me spiritually especially given that I'm a new convert and did not have years of good catechesis in my youth like some. The progress is slow but it's definitely there.

I would totally add to this; St Ignatius of Loyola’s advice for meditation; his advice for the Morning and Evening Examen. And his rules for discernment of spirits for beginners and advanced souls, as to how to recognise the Holy Spirit’s direction within those meditations. St Ignatius of Loyola also wrote recommendations for how to meditate on scripture by imagining the scene and imagine yourself in that story and interact with Jesus with questions etc. (St Theresa of Avila said initially, for years; her meditation was just holding the picture in her mind of her prostrate at Jesus’ feet, and that all graces in her life up until then came through that meditation).

I bought the book you suggested "the ways of mental prayer" but I was nervous it would be hard to read because you repeatedly say it is dry. Just here to encourage people to get it and read it because although it may be "dry" it's actually interesting enough that I personally don't find it dry at all and am getting through it rather easily. Give it a try👍🏼

Meditation makes you spiritually conscious and you can easily sense sin in your life, diabolical or possession. Like your body knows where you have a splinter and shows you. Meditation and being close with God will show you your spiritual wounds so you can do reparation.
That’s how God explains it to me anyway.

17:30 = a tactic I realized that is extremely useful when tempted during prayer is as follows. If they attack while I pray, I say "Lord, I offer you the following hail marys for the liberation of the souls of those people who are under the influence of the demons who are attacking me". Then I start saying hail marys until my mind is clear. It is extremely useful.
When they come to fight, ask Our Lord and Our Lady to brutalize them.

Church is called to be contemplative in nature. Holy mass and rosary is just a reflection of this contemplative life. How many times we get in touch with God who lives within us....the more we try to practice this, Devil runs away. Devil can not stand an inward looking mind. Such a mind is useless for him. He needs the most busy people with lots of plans for the day and divergent within. Church should encourage or stress more on an inward looking, simple peaceful life.

    Thank you Fr Ripperger.
I find mediation the most difficult because I am so easily distracted (by my boyfriend of 18 years). I know what Our Lord wants from me but I can't Father. (Where will he go?) (I believe he will die without me therefore, I am afraid).
I do not wish to keep the Lord waiting either.
I find church a bore also. The priest rarely keeps my attention.
I have suffered for a long time Father (40 years). I do not wish to tell.
I have also stopped drinking and have returned to prayer.
My back, neck, legs and below the waist ache.
My Lord wants me to suffer more.
I yearn to see Our Lord.
I also want to say this Father:
Christ Jesus is the Ultimate and only King, for his heart continues to beat on earth through the Holy Eucharist of the Holy Catholic Church.

      Excellent advice above!
Also, as my grandmother used to say as long as you breathe someone will be on your last nerve!
Pray to Christ every morning and night for Truth, peace, and for no evil to come near you.
Eventually you will see when evil is coming at you by people’s words and actions, and then you brush it off and pray..
Sounds timid in these ungodly days but it works.

Wonderful and informative, however , I think maybe we can get so caught up in the science of things that we forget what is really important. That is loving God . Each and everyday should be our only motivation, to love God with our hearts. We can do this in many ways by acts of charity to others , offering sacrifices for others. Pleasing Our Lord should be our priority and loving Him the end result. Everything else comes in His time.
God bless you all, may God enflame your hearts.

I think you said one time that it is better to pray in silence as opposed to praying out loud,, I have a great difficulty with the answer to this question !!! I do pray on a regular basis usually about 1 1/2 hours every evening now the rosary when I pray it I go To a web site and we say The rosary according to the day of the week and the mysteries according to the day of the week as I said above this would really really help me, thank you very much and God bless you.

I have a question regarding the logic of temptation that Fr. Ripperger speaks of at 23:58
'God will make still make them do it' (Get involved when one is meditating i.e temp them).
'They will admit to you under duress, that they are a slave to Christ, just unwillingly.'
'They will admit, there are certain things they have to do because Christ makes them do it.'
So in this scenario logic would dictate that it was God who tempted the person by way of forcing the demon to tempt the person meditating, because had God not forced the demon to do so, the demon(s) would not have bothered.
However "God tempts no one" - James 1:13
Can someone help me see, how God forcing a demon to tempt someone when they don't want to, isn't actually God tempting the person?
Fr. Ripperger goes on to give an example of Therese Of Avila, but he says that God allows the temptation - not forces the demon to tempt her.
'Even for people who are holy, Therese Of Avila, even suffered from scrupulosity, from a diabolic cause, a form of diabolic obsession, but God *allowed* it, in order to, help her overcome a certain set of imperfections.'
Surely this is a contradiction? Or at least not explained very well.

An absolutely great question and I believe it’s confusing to answer for any human is because we aren’t the creator.
For 60 years I have listened to preachers of all religions try to answer this “tight rope “
      Question.
After 60 years, I just ask God to give me truth and wisdom …
Part of that wisdom is having the humility and knowledge that we cannot answer every question from here.

@Nelson Arias , i believe if you have sincerely confessed, you should have also Holy Communion to strengthen you & heal you of remorse. There are graces added to you once you have Holy Communion, which helps you to come more close to God and overcoming temptations or even by forgiving yourself. Its a powerful Sacrament. hope all is good 4yrs after🙏🙏

The man in the audience continually coughing and hacking throughout was a major distraction. The presenter spoke a mile a minute as if he were reading from a script not necessarily speaking from the heart.

Ai yi, the mantillas. Look at all that $$$. Not only a major misread of Paul, but how come nobody's complaining about co-opting the traditions of rich Spanish women showing off their wealth? Hint: at most, you might find a white European woman wearing a beat-up grey, cotton kerchief, but most adult women did NOT wear head coverings to Church. Source: look at paintings of parishioners throughout history. Nope. No head coverings. That's a Middle East thing.
