Mary of Magdalene always gets forgotten by the majority of modern Catholics. She was devout to Jesus before, during and after the crucifixion. She is a Saint!
St Teresa of Avila's book Interior Castle describes: Human effort with grace can effect the following: 1. vocal prayer; 2. meditation (active recollection); 3. prayer of recollection (passive recollection). After these, only God's grace can effect the following Contemplative stages in the soul: 4. Prayer of Quiet; 5. Prayer of Simple Union; 6. Prayer of Union: Mystical Engagement/Betrothal, and 7. The Rosary was prayed at Mass by many well before the Vatican II changes. Note link here and references within. www.traditioninaction.org/religious/n086_Rosary.htm
@@jd8658 I believe people made use of private devotions such as praying the Rosary and novenas during the celebration of Holy Mass because they didn't understand the Latin in which the Mass was being celebrated, nor did they have a missal which allowed them to follow the English translation of the Latin liturgy. And so they were more or less lost during the liturgy, and the Rosary and other prayers were an excellent means for them to offer some form of prayer to God during a Mass they couldn't hope to understand. We understand perfectly well what's transpiring even during a Novus Ordo Mass, as do the holy angels who gather around the altar during the Consecration, and if by our contempt of the form of the Mass we don't happen to like, we give the angels reason to cast glances of rebuke in our direction - well, when I think of such a thing, I conclude that a hole might as well open beneath me and swallow me up into Hell. Novus Ordo or not, badly prayed or well, with lousy music or good, the Sacrifice of Jesus is being re-presented on the altar, and even our complaints, grimaces, and whinging about the outer trappings can't change that. In the meantime, I hope that any bishops or cardinals or pastors who support the Novus Ordo over the Latin Tridentine Mass will either change their minds or that they will soon be called by God to their eternal reward (they can only hope), and be replaced by sound, solid men who will restore and promote the true form of the Mass.
The rosary is one of the greatest devotions in the Church, but the holy Sacrifice of the Mass is greatest. By refusing to pay attention at holy Mass, you are refusing to pay attention to God, you are being disobedient and arrogant. Don't you think Our Lady would be offended if someone paid attention to her when her Son was being literally re-presented on an altar? People used to pray the Rosary at Holy Mass because they didn't understand or didn't have a Missal. You have no such excuse. Repent of your wilful inattention before the Holy Eucharist, and humble yourself. The N.O is not ideal. We all know that. But it is still the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. By paying attention, you are showing humility and obedience and paying your first duty to God. Why would you skip the opportunity to grow in these virtues, which are the basis of a spiritual life?

I think by don’t trust in consolations they mean don’t get too attached or depend on it. They are signs of progression since God is encouraging you to keep going in your prayer life so he incentivizes by giving consolation to the soul, but that consolation won’t last forever so we can’t be too attached to it.
Please do a talk about Pre adamits please I have my parish priest say to me, that we didn't come from them and Adam and Eve. That they are not our first parents! please I beg you give me the true trenching of the church on this matter so I can fight this. I have looked all over the net and it's all a bunch over the top fake and false information, I'm just wasting my time I know you guys are true Catholics and truly wish for all our souls to be saved as do I, but this is something I can't get my head around please help me... please don't leave me alone to fight this false teaching on my own...

There are no levels of prayer.
Prayer is communicating with the father through
HIS SON.
This is why HE died
On the cross!
When JESUS said,
“IT IS FINISHED,”
The temple veil was
Torn from the top down
To the bottom signifying
That GOD could now be
Reached through prayer
By HIS children once
Again.
There are.
