I've talked to Jackson again, and he gave me a way to reprogram the cruise setting to my preference. Now, it is very accurate, and the speed plus or minus 1 is exactly 1kph. The only thing I'm still not happy with is "resume". It can resume past my set speed and then settles down to the set speed. But now much quicker.
I can't comment your old servo model, but my mc cruise is reliable and safe. The front brake, rear brake, or clutch immediately give you back control. You can set increments for one button press up or down (1 mile/km or two mile/km) just as you can now on yours. Fuel increase to maintain exact speed ascending is spot on. I think you were just unlucky with the servo motor sticking. You shouldn't have been in danger as pulling the clutch should remove drive just as when any cable throttle locks but I'm sure it was scary 😯. Fitting MC Cruise was for me daunting but with an instruction and photo for virtually every bolt, panel or clip I had the confidence to do something I wouldn't have taken on, got it right first time and have the added feeling of achievement having done it.
@Zip13 nothing turned of the mc cruis7e. Clutch let me disengage the motor but it would hit the red line. Mill switch was the only cure. Not great for bike to use killswitch at red line. Glad yours is good. Most people are happy
I have MCCruise on my V Strom 800DE and it is the electric one. I have no experience with the cable servo units, but I love this cruise control. It is 100% plug and play, no wire splicing required. I didn't know about Veridian when I bought it, so I don't know which I would have chosen if I did, but I do not regret the purchase at all. I've had no issues with it in 12,000kms so far and I hope not to have any, but only time will tell.
Great video! I really appreciate the information. I now need cruise control on longer rides because my hand just wears out from holding the throttle. The OEM cruise on my ‘21 Honda Rebel 1100 is flawless. I always have it on and then it’s one button to set and each press up or down after that is plus or minus 1 mph. Love it.
@greatbigeye2506 see my pinned comment about re programing veridian crusie. But nothing beats oem cruise. If I buy a bike again, it must have it. (See 2025 mt07 and hope for 2025 tenere😅)
@@KairyuRider Yeah I havent moved to Tubless - currently keeping a stop&go (similar to slime) sealant with me when i travel. Which can be a quick fix if I'm somewhere remote. Plus here in Vietnam i ride mostly in traffic or trails here so cruise control is not so important but after a year n half i have plans to ride to Thailand from Vietnam. Cruise Control will come handy then. So gonna wait for warranty to run out to do both. Meanwhile I might save up for a proper tubless rim (VMX).
I won't get cruise control for quite some time purely because I don't want to compromise the warranty. Also, I've never had it before so it's impossible for me to miss it. Ultimately I think the technology is beneficial.
I want cruise control on my next bike if nothing else to prevent cramps on those long days where you just want to cover distance on the boring motorways. Won’t go aftermarket because it just doesn’t feel 100%. While I’m sure aftermarket works as well as aftermarket heated grips do I just want it to be OEM so I can take it to the dealer. I like wrenching, I don’t much like messing with the electrics. With every new bike having throttle by wire I’m pretty sure most bikes will have it from the manufacturer pretty soon. Triumph is launching the 2025 Trident 660 with cruise as standard, I see this being the way forwards. Maybe as standard, maybe as an option. Eventually it will be like TC, just there to be used or not. Cable servos I won’t tough with a barge pole, just seems like a bad thing waiting to happen when you’re three days into a country where no one speaks a language I understand. My bike? A Tracer 700. Old-fashioned throttle wire, no TC. Love the thing but I won’t be putting anything more advanced than said heated grips on it. I have a cramp buster and I take breaks.
I with the tracer 700 was sold in Japan I always wanted that. But I agree. This bike was to perfect to pass over cruise. But from now on ill only buy oem cruise bikes. We will know soon if the 2025 transalp has it like the rumors say. Good job triumph. Cruise was the only reason I didn't buy the tiger sport 660.
@@KairyuRider The Tracer is the very definition of ‘good enough’ in the best of ways. Enough power, comfort and style. Lightweight with a fun engine. Yamaha reliability and servicing costs. Not sure why it’s a Europe-only bike, I guess Yamaha figured most other markets want the power and kit of the 900? Love it to bits and will in all probability hang on to it for four-five more years. The Tiger Sport is something of the same animal but the lack of a centre stand and Triumphs somewhat patchy reputation regarding spares put me off. If it had cruise I might have gone for it though. Might (still not terribly keen on the design).
I see you have a new short wind screen. I am searching for a short one for summer usage, will you show your short windscreen with your experiences? I am 177cm tall, I would like to buy that kind of windscreen, which is lets the wind fully to my helmet without buffeting. Thanks the cruise control informations also.
Sounds like you had a bad run with your after market cruise. I've been using MC cruise on my Tenere 700 for two and half years and now at 19,000kms without one problem. Riden from Melbourne to Flinders Ranges and love it.

Great I was in a confusion on which cruise control to buy for my TA. But I might wait for my warranty to end before I put that on my bike.
@r4avn that's smart if you're comfortable without it.
I've also done tubeless and a few other things that could effect my warranty.
