Hi Fred I’ve just heard you say about taking your ticket. I was gonna do it but the lads I speak to early morning are all hams but seem disappointed apparently not many on ? They are happy with CB. I don’t think I’ll bother just sticking to CB.
Its not for everyone. Most people never look back once they become HAMS and one day (hearing permitting) i will prob go that road myself. For now i like the laid back approach of SSB CB radio. FM-19 can be a bit hit or miss. Most of the people that come on the 305 are in fact Hams who still like 11 meters.

Good stuff. The 9900 - 6666 's are great radios. yes they do like some amps esp on SSB and they can run VERY hot at the rear heat sink but they do punch well above their weight.

Its a good point. Your going to need 30 amp connectors. I used 15 amp crimp on types at first and they actually melted. If you dont want to solder on the larger connectors then your better off wrapping the wires around the poles and turning the knobs down tight. Let me see if i can find the connectors i used, if so i will add a link.
The type i used were called "Tube Terminals" You will need to measure the pole diameter on the power supply. Hi ya Fred I’ve got another question about Antron 99 ground plane. I used to have an home brew base antenna with a fitting similar to the Antron ground plane but I was able to screw a Firestik into the top. Is there anything I can get similar please.

Fred I'm a subscriber on both your channel. Love the videos. Have your tried the crt7900 I use one mobile I find it better than my crt6900 for mobile use. If you do have one could you do a video on the 7900. Agin love the channels mate long may it continue 👍

No transmit on this one just a flick about on SSB. Nice to see some activity on 10 meters.
The propagation on both 10m & 11m has been excellent today.

Yeah they are a fantastic mobile rig especially with the export mode done. I run it on a wilson 1000 and it is very very good. Thanks for the reply 👍👍

Totally recommend the 9900 / 6666 if your into SSB comm. FM and AM are also good but prob no better than the CRT 6900n

They do get hot but its not really a fault. They keep selling out.

fred i mest up. i cant get 27.555 on usb. it will only go as far as 27.444 and then skip the rest of 27.000. can you help .it is the crt ss6900n
I ve never re programmed my 6900n. I think your going to have to look at a USB cable to a PC and use software.
Turn the radio off hold down menu and frequency then turn it back on
10m is dead in the midwest not worked 10 in a long while only a bit of weak signal FT8 bout all I have managed
10 used to be the same here 18 months ago but there seems a bit more activity now.
No the one I’ve watched was a yank.
