Hi Fred, I have recently acquired a Retevis MB62, It's not working properly so I'm awaiting a refund. Should I buy the same again or something different/better? It will receive only, so as they don't want it returned I put a switch on the white wire, I get lots of different channels but none seem to be the UK cb frequencies on FM is this correct?

I made a rubber wheel with a shaft to put in a drill. Very handy for starting small engines with the big flywheels.

So if its firing every stroke at low RPMs, its a 2 stroke? I noticed the exhaust closing at low RPMs, and staying open at hi RPMs, as it should. But no movement of the intake. And theres no ports at the bottom of the cylinder? 🤔

After watching this video I ordered the ATS 25AMP. I compared it to my 40 year old ICOM IC-R70 and I was really surprised. Utilizing the same antenna the ATX25 was not as sensitive as the R70 but very close. Getting around was more difficult due to the lack of all of the controls my R70 has, plus the R70 has the addition of filters and adjustments for you listening pleasure. All in all I was impressed with the ATX25, My Icom IC-R70 weights in at 16 lbs and this little lightweight came so close in performance .A great radio for travels.

This is different compared to the Mamod Wilesco's first run.

Even this Mamod steam engine roadster needed improvement. Thus making it look as good as new. I can tell by how much the paint was chipped off. I was thinking about using Prestone anti freeze/anti boil. I was thinking about the petroleum jelly that was used for fondue alcohol lamps.🪔 🔦 🍸 🍷 🍸 🫕 😕 😢 😅 😔 😂 🫕

Re the country codes, I believe that Italy has 2 selections. It's either 4W AM/FM or 1W AM and 4W FM. I also noticed that I2 didn't have the full 40 channels.

Hello Fred, I've just bought and tested an ATS 25 AMP. I have an important question: WITH NO ANTENNA CONNECTED, does your unit have much higher noise, as seen on the S-meter, when you use the BFO-requiring modes (CW, RCW, LSB and USB) compared to AM?? Mine does, suggesting that the BFO spoils the good sensitivity seen on AM. I need to know whether to send mine back (if yours doesn't have this flaw), or keep it if all ATS 25 AMP units have this problem. When you have time, could you please respond below? TNX! Fred VE1FA

I specialise in these and other pre-built model engineering. These are well built but changing the governor spring to a bic lighter spring will get you a much better display hit and miss. Other tweaks on my channel. The one to get now is the excellent Retrol / MUSA HM-01. Chinese models at the best are the equal or superior to Western models now

If you had a cordless drill or dremil with variable speed ajustment and put a rubber sanding arbor in the chuck and just ran it against the flywheel it would make easy work for starting .....just a thought .........amazing how those wee engines work
