I had their version of this 30 odd years ago except it didn't have a channel switch and I had to dial in the frequency. Best AM/FM/SSB radio back then as well. Backed up with an equally illegal directional antenna and I was skipping all over the world when the conditions were right. Hello from New Zealand.

i instantly liked the screwholes on the heatsink on the back to mount extra fans on, GREAT idea from the engineers to make it like that. does any other CB radio or even amateurradio has that ? so far i have seen & remember, this PW is the only one of all those that has that. thing costs $390 u.s., i think for that price they should have installed fans on the heatsink already from factory.

In 1966, when I was 12, I got a pair of 'President' walkie talkies for Christmas. They were the cheaper pair, 35 mw. They were only on channel Nine but received all the channels at the same time. I was annoying to REACT MEMBERS.. (Emergency channel.) Finally, someone with a Johnson Messenger One Answered my calling and invited me over. I am Canadian. My introduction to GRS, the same as CB in the States. Amazing. Quite a discovery!

Nice job! I've been using the Washington since the first ones came out. It's rarely heated up enough to warrant a fan, but I did add one, and it works fine. If this radio was crammed into someone's dash, or used in a hot environment, a fan would most likely be a good purchase to make. Other than 2 fans looking cooler than one aesthetically, perhaps owners should try one fan first vs. buying a pair (due to the cost of a 2-fan kit)

The President Washington is really not bad, but yes, for the money of €398 I miss some things that the AnyTone 6666 Pro has built in and yes, the price of €269 is great, President should have looked at the AnyTone circuit board! I wanted to get the Washington but when I saw the circuit boards I was out and yes, the AnyTone circuit board is impressive with its well thought out layout and processing of the circuit board! Nothing against President but the device is too expensive for what it is!

Only a couple of personal issues, and a question.
I would like to see the ability to record multiple messages, just one recording may not be appropriate for all situations.
The Roger beeps, as usual, suck.
Maybe if the message recording can be tapped to the PTT off, and then, by a menu option, trigger the recorded message.
It is unfortunate that you will have to break that manufacturer’s seal to add fans. This is an issue that President should have seen coming and addressed, prior to public release!
    Question?
Is there a way to program freq and functions via me computer, using either proprietary software or third party software (ie: Chirp), similar to Anytone software?
Maybe if we could modify the RB to an anything else.
Thanks again for the great review and in depth analysis, and the additional function review references to previous videos.

Why did it take so long for a manufacturer to give us a radio like this. Finally someone gives us fan mounting options. Thats common sense designing right there. It’s very similar looking but the controls are different, display is different, etc.. In manufacturing to create a radio you have to first create a tool that is used as the mold for a production. A few things to note though , The frequency readout should have been priority over the channel readout ..... A nice sized frequency display with a smaller channel readout should have been the way to go , The frequency readout is " Tiny " , Or at least the ability to choose the dominant display , Either frequency or channel .The fans should be a standard feature not an after thought , The vfo/channel knob should have been bigger , It looks like you need tweezers to turn it , Also with ICs being so cheap why only a few memories ? HF Ham radios have had at least 100 memories as standard since the mid 80's , And finally the price is way to high ...... For that price you can buy a boxed used YAESU FT-891 that would make this president look like a toy , I know what I would go for if I was looking to spend 400 notes on a radio and it wouldn't be the President .

I think you pretty much nailed it in your summary, however the price isn’t crazy considering market conditions etc IF you are looking for a full featured cb radio. I’m guilty of also feeling like everything is too expensive these days but then a box of cereal is $7 and in my mind it should be $2.99. Inflation has been crazy the last 5 years. I think the Stryker 955 was $299 when it came out and it’s now $400.

Echo on a Ham Radio...I see they are not through screwing up the frequencies with annoying garbage.
