As Keith Richards once said : " We're gonna murder the audience. " STUFF did it in Switzerland, in a torrent of sounds, yet no one got harmed. One of the best. MERCI Dr. H.
Such great fusion music and what an incredible live performance!! These guys were so locked in at Montreaux; I’m so glad we have this recording… I keep coming back with a big smile :)
Bro I just found this band like half a year ago and I am OBSESSED! Stuff's music just makes me so happy. It's the band I put on whenever I'm vibing with the boys after a couple drinks. I think my favourite track has got to be "How Long Will it Last?", but there's so many other great tracks like "Always, Love Having You Around, Looking For The Juice, Love The Stuff/Aint No Mountain High Enough, Happy Farms etc.. And now I'm on an Eric Gale binge and oh boy does it sound so much like stuff! I dont even know who this comment is for, I just really enjoy listening to Stuff and I'd love to talk with people who love them as much as me! Honestly I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be their number one listener on spotify this year lmao.
@@HayastAnFedayi This man played with some of the greatest musicians and singers of all time.I think he pulled from all genres. But the word spiritual really connects.
@@jayhop2785 Stuff is my first musical memory, I was born in 1981, and my dad was a jazz musician and had an eclectic music taste, he worked for a local department store in the late 70s here in the Boston area back in the day in the record-LP department. We used to dance around our dining room table while listing to “Foots” and “My Sweetness” when I was a toddler and those two songs are the first songs I remember ever hearing. Flash forward to my teen years when I started playing drums in the school marching band and bass in regular bands to say Gordon Edwards and Stuff were a main musical inspiration for my playing style would be an understatement! And I agree Eric Gale is one of the greats and truly underrated to the casual music listener! His solo collection has some of the finest tracks out there and he nails that 70s fusion sound and when you hear his tracks you not only think beauty and spirituality but also feel like your hopping in a time machine to the 70s during what I consider to be the greatest period in musical history🤓!
Been there and done that too one of my favorite memories a later STUFF offspring THE GADD GANG was also smoking hot with Richard Tee Cornel Dupree Gadd Eddie Gomez on bass and the great Ronnie Cuber on baritone sax fantastic
A fantastic, and under-rated band. This is from their performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1976. Has a band ever swung or rocked any harder than this (after the great Piano solo)?
Steve Gadd having the best time of his life
Richard Tee creating life, Gadd giving the heart beat

That piano solo is so good
That Piano Solo Is probably one of the greatest musical moments I have witnessed on UA-cam!
Richard Tee was a legend.
Agreed. It's mental
Mr. Both Hands Octave Man ... THE Man,
no second played Octaves like H.I.M.
Top 10 pianist ever
True, for me it's the best I've seen..

The definition of drip, especially the piano
Richard Tee makes the piano say anything he wants it to! Gone way too soon
One of my favorite guitarist Eric Gale...always looks pissed off during live performances like he didn't get paid for the gig.
Richard Tee ..true monster of the piano
Never knew about this band till that video showing the notes went viral. Now I'm a big fan.
Love it! Some of the licks here turn up in the fade of Paul Simon's Late in the Evening (on which Eric Gale and Steve Gadd play).

Awesome, Richard Tee, awesome... Just awesome!!!!

Always!
Richard tee is my Diogen
I hear great music like this every Sunday in church. In predominantly black attended churches, this is standard.
Amazing because you can hear the spiritual nature to this music! Isn’t Richard Tee’s playing style strongly influenced by “Harlem boogie” music?

oh no, no others than Richard Tee has at no time ever been the Standard.
Richard Tee IS The Standard ... THE Octave Man
That's how it sounds when God plays the piano. Him need a spankin'!
エリック•ゲイル、コーネル•デュプリー、ゴードン•エドワーズ、リチャードティー、スティーブ•ガッド。The finest Stuff.
SO blessed to have heard them often live at Mikell’s on the Upper West Side!
Me too
I wish I could have seen Stuff live! Richard Tee was a beast of a player.
