@@dallasstiles118 found out about mr tee about a month ago and im still going down the rabbit hole. a fucking master and damn it hurts that theyre gone
@@reject6853 man, I thank Paul Simon for introducing him to me in the early 90's. I think between Richard Tee and Gene Harris, I'm good for this lifetime.
OMG I love these guys so much! Was luck to be a waitress at a club they played at on 96th street NYC. our bartender would stop pouring on Richards solos!
I danced to Richard in our discotheque in East Kilbride, near Glasgow, Scotland in the late 70’s. Fantastic times and memories, he is a genius, sad he was taken so young.
They'd been playing together for decades (on some of the greatest hits in pop music, and in The Gadd Gang)...You can tell they can feel each other. They know each other. Watch / listen to Steve in conjunction with Richard's left hand, and the way Richard smiles when Steve does exactly the right thing...They don't have to talk, they listen to each other, and can anticipate what the other's going to do. (They probably also rehearsed at least a little. :) ).
wow. There will never be anyone like Richard Tee again. And the combination of Mr. Tee and Mr. Gadd. It was a priviledge to see them so many times at tThe Mottom Line in NYC in Stuff. With Gordon Edwards, Eric Gale, Cornell Dupree and Chris Parker
Saw Richard play this at the Bottom Line in NYC. As well as for years at a club in NYC called Mikell's when he played with Encyclopedia of Soul/Stuff. and Yes to Ellington's and Stayhorn's compositions being very complicated, but Rich was a genius
Quoi de mieux que de se livrer mutuellement, d'autant que l'on se connaisse depuis un petit moment ? Un tel "boeuf" se mérite ! Et ce n'est rien de le dire. J'adore Merci pour ce petit moment de vrai bonheur. Ciao
Positively awesome! One of the most soulful and powerful performances in modern music history. Gadd is Mr. Smooth with power. Tee? He takes me to church. He makes me want to give it up to Jesus,
Ciao
Not to cast a downer. I love Richard Tee and Steve Gadd. They do an incredible job. I feel this beautiful song is being shoved down my throat. It is like drinking from a fire hose. The original had room to think.
It's Tee Time!
Richard Tee and Steve Gadd played with Paul Simon on many songs in the mid to late 70's and early 80's Check out the 1981 Concert in Central Park.
Only just discovering Richard Tee at age 27. Holy shit. This man was an absolute genius. I don't use that word lightly.
Tee was 44 at the time. He sadly passed away 5 years later.
That's a big rabbit hole to have fun with, best wishes. I guess anything by Stuff is a good place to look.

"Browser can't play this video" no matter what browser you use. what a loss.
Same... I used to listen to this all the time like ~10 years ago, very sad to find it won't play any more :(

Was that at Cleopatra's Needle?
Yes, Mikell's was The Spot! Two of my favorite musicians.
what an absolute master. i've never heard a piano played like this. amazing.
that is one COOKIN train down the tracks! Richard Teelicious!
Richard Tee -genius,regret that he had gone so far from us - angels have a master!
How did they make that rich sound with only piano and drum? So amazing.
Because they are real musicians...tops in their crafts. no effects needed. Pure talent.
Because bass is pointless
Masters of rhythm

Just Tee on piano and Gadd on drums...straight FIRE!
You must be a beautiful person to play so beautifully. And Richard Tee was a beautiful person!
One of the best to grace the planet
Sadly missed
Gone too soon

Che intesa è che fuoriclasse grandi musicisti, grande musica!!!!
Outstanding. A little homage to Gershwin thrown in for good measure.
Vulfpeck brought me here.
Ah Richard tee was such an inspiration for Vulfpeck, you can really hear it in their track Tee Time
Chris Tone Tee, as in golf tee. Not tea, as in the caffeinated beverage. Not pee, as what comes out of your tee tee place.
A true gift from God....Richard Tee!!!!

No i didnt like this version I think they butchered the song
Richard Tee, the greatest pianist ever!!!!!!!!!!
From a Scots man who disco danced to Tapan Zee, in Glasgow, in the seventies.
Pure class.
Saw Richard play this at the Bottom Line in NYC. As well as for years at a club in NYC called Mikell's when he played with Encyclopedia of Soul/Stuff. and Yes to Ellington's and Stayhorn's compositions being very complicated, but Rich was a genius
I can't watch it for days now. Why? 🇯🇵😂
That was an absolute Piano Sermon!
Never heard better!!!!
So damn good. Both of them.
Fell in love with etn Group "Stuff" ion the seventies. Brilliance in vinyl back then. Still stunning!
Love Richard -- Steve is the most " musical drummer " ever .
Quoi de mieux que de se livrer mutuellement, d'autant que l'on se connaisse depuis un petit moment ? Un tel "boeuf" se mérite ! Et ce n'est rien de le dire.
J'adore
Merci pour ce petit moment de vrai bonheur.

it just occurred to me that Yamaha don't have corporate lobbyists in Washington and continue not to engage in musical warfare in Yemen and Iran
can anyone help me out on what the notes of the left hand pattern at the start are?
has got someone a transcription of this?
Anybody knows if this version is on an album somewhere?

One person has no soul.
Would be better if the sound was less compressed. Sounds like a bad mp3.
no fucking way
Nasty

Watching at 1.25 speed is a whole other level
Georges Clooney is a hell of a drummer 0_0
Is the A train the one pitcher John Rocker warned us about? And, it destroyed his career. Too bad, a good relief pitcher, honest.

do you feel the same now?
They make a lot of pauses, stop talking shit
Yeah, pretty sure that's a young George Clooney on drums. Not Steve.
C'mon lighten up.
