Thanks for the reaction. Nice! Trident is my favorite band. They are so very talented. And all their songs are awesome. I think you should listen to Kickass, Repaint, Ambivalent and the unique Spoopy. Also: Continue, Imagination, Signal, Distination, Alive, Brand New World and Last hope
You finally reached Trident!! They’re secretly the best band!! I wish i had managed to get tickets to see them on my japan trip but alas…I couldnt. Some day though!!
Really impressive work for editing on the phone. It must be super tedious. You never asked but I subscribed a while ago because you have interesting things to say and I wanted to support what I think is a smaller channel than it deserves to be. Keep up the great work and good luck with the new computer and workflow. More on topic: Trident is a great band. It would be fun for you to do a comparison of songs with their different drummers: Jenna was replaced by Nagisa and they're both amazing.
If you're enjoying Trident, then also check out their contemporaries Faulieu (formerly Fleufleu, they had a forced name change/disbandment after their agency split with them). Quartet with higher pitched vocals but loads of low key chops on display. The two bands have gigged together a bunch and their lead guitarist, Kaho and Asaka from Trident are both part of a covers project/promotion for Epiphone/Gibson Japan.
Nice one. Excellent band, both melodic and crunchy. To my tastes, you have probably begun with their two best songs, the ones with the most musical ideas and most memorable meodies (lots of mmmmms there), but other good ones are available. 'Cry Out' is their coming-out-of-lockdown song, the lyrics are definitely worth a look -- even 'pandemic' makes an appearance, in a real Statement of Intent song. I hear an interesting texture coming into some of this last year's music, like 'Neo-Future" and Gachapin's 'Reverse Psychology', and that is the 1970s-80s analog synthesizer sounds, both in the sequencer burbles and in the stabbing, swooping chords -- dense orchestral things.
I don’t recall if I mentioned it in video but I like that bands are trying to use those older synthy sounding bits. Reverse Psychology is a good example.
To be fair, I'm not sure how commercially successful a lot of those japanese bands actually are. The competition is pretty fierce. And it's true that our japanese friends seem a lot less hesitant to mix genres and styles. Pop-Rock-Metal is a thing :) One group I would *very* much suggest you give a try is Sokoninaru, Fujiwara Misaki is an awesome bass player I bet you'll love. Their music is (usually) a bit more prog/math, but they do it in a very catchy borderline poppy way. Awesome stuff. Saitei, Gou Ni Moyu, and many others (including Vortex - Live, because they do do everything live, which blows my mind). Also congrats on the hardware upgrade.
Thank you! I think I have a Sokoninaru song on the playlist(?) Maybe commercial success wasn’t what I was trying to get at. More about the want to produce these rock/metal sounding bands.
@@YoMota I see, that is probably true. And now that i checked there is Gou Ni Moyu on the suggestions list, I only re-checked the released videos before posting :) It is a good pick, but they're all awesome.
I'm really enjoying Trident right now, although I think my favourite by them is still Ambivalent for the insanely groovy bass line. Spoopy is very cool and Kickass definitely lives up to the name :)

Absolutely 💯 dominated spectacular pure lovely perfection of total greatness!!✨
Well tha-oh, you meant them. Yeah, they were pretty good.

Love these songs. Love this band. I wish we had these bands here in the US as well.
Land of the Rising Sun. There is Soooooo much more as well. And the Japanese ladies sure love their wet, abandoned warehouse spaces.

Thank you for that. It’s only a bit tedious but it is oh so worth it.
Trident are fantastic. They deserve more recognition. Spoopy is my favorite from them. Ambivalent is also excellent

Love them! "Spoopy" is another good one!
Extremely talent musicians. Huge sound by this power trio.

Just wait until you check their newest song called Kick Ass. It's another great track!

I think just about everyone has mentioned Ambivalent 🤔
When you hear the bass intro you’ll know why!…
Nagisa is one of My favorite drummers.👍
