Following my mini series on The Warning, several people told me to look into this young rock band out of western Canada. Another excellent recommendation!
@freeze_the_fall_band proves that age is simply a number with this great piece of music called Daughter of Witches. They also have an EP out now called Thrones. Go check it out!
There was plenty for me to explore after the MV. There were also a few live performances including a cover of The Warning's Evolve (which I am very familiar with at this point ^_^)

As it turns out, if they hadn't covered Evolve (and did it as well as they did), none of this would have happened. Or more likely it wouldn't have happened as quickly. The Warning Army was alerted to this cover courtesy of the UA-cam algorithm which got them a lot of attention. In particular a YT reaction channel in Canada called BEL Development was instrumental in promoting them and had them on a livestream. During this livestream a number of viewers out of the blue donated money to them and this led them to create a Kickstarter campaign for their first EP which is now fully released. All while they're still in the middle of their high school years.

Really awesome that you are checking out Freeze The Fall so soon after the recommendations! I'm one of those that found FTF through their cover of Evolve, then checked out that same performance of Daughters of Witches. I then had to watch every song from that show, it was only 3 months old at that point. For other bands to add to the list: Plush (hard rock, friends with The Warning and toured a bit together); Voice of Baceprot (metal, have both originals and creative covers); and The Sixsters (rock, have a variety of mixed genres).

Yeah just dropping in here. I never heard of Band Maid. And I don't understand the maid thing. What is that? Is that a Japanese fetish thing? I've heard one member of this Japanese band talk and she sounded like a little child. Is that real or is playing a character? They seem to be good musicians and they play very fast and move very mechanically. The beat of their music doesn't sound rock. The Warning is straight at you hard rock grunge, metal and pop. Just my opinion. Keep rockin.

"When I was 19, I was a screw-up in work boots!" Bwaaahaahaa!🤣 Welcome to the club bro! That was a long time ago for me, but yeah.. I probably could have broke into the music scene around that time, because I HAD the talent, just not the drive to focus on any one thing (mild ADHD actually). Anyway, I am so proud of these gals (The Warning sisters), I look on them as daughters (or even granddaughters in my case).😍 I contributed to their Patreon for several years, and one of their Kickstarter campaign's to raise money to tour Europe, before the pandemic hit, and before they got signed with Lava/Republic Records. Now, 4 albums, and several singles, and a hell of a lot of hard work later, they're on the path to global stardom! This meetup and collab with Band Maid was one of the highlights of their career so far, and I hope to see them get a return meetup with them in Mexico or the U.S. at some point! You'd be hard pressed to find a more talented, yet humble group of young ladies on the planet!😉👍👍👍

Alejandra learned fingerstyle first and later learned how to use a pick. And she began at age 7. You mentioned her playing close to the bridge. One of the "fun facts" about Ale is she can rip an apple in two halves with her fingers. I don't know how often that comes in handy, but I find it an oddly interesting superpower. 😯💪

@@YoMota That video had 69 songs. I have collected pro-shot videos for everything I can get my hands on. I'm up to 102 unique arrangements (some have acoustic versions), and I'm still missing some real bangers like hide-and-seek, Unfair Game, Flying High, and others. There are about 110 truly unique songs, but with alternate arrangements (acoustic, Band-Maiko) there are easily 135 or more unique variants. On another note, "I Still Seek Revenge" from Unseen World is one of the best bass songs I've ever heard IMO. No non-bootleg video of it on YT, though. FYI that whole album has a scorebook along with a CD of all songs with no vocals. I think every single one makes a pretty good instrumental track.

Just the logistics alone of getting a band from Mexico and Japan together, who met in the U.S. together in Japan with all the equipment. Just for a show is hard enough on its own. But for them do an all english song, and for it turn out as great as it did. is remarkable. I think these two bands really played off one another really well. The vocals drums bass and guitars meshed so good together. For all that to take place, is insanely difficult, but the ladies took it all in stride. And it looks like they became great friends during the process. I look forward to the next get together. The Warning already invited them to do another song with them in Mexico.

The three of them never count. They grew up together and understand each other perfectly. A glance or a (lack of) noise from the other is enough for them. Calculating their age is easy: Dany was born in 2000, Pau two years later and Ale three more. Dany is 24, Pau 22, Ale 19. Foreign languages are unusual in Japan because the proportion of foreigners is so small. English speakers, or even fewer Spanish speakers, are rare. You can see that in Band-Maid, where only one speaks English. In Germany or Scandinavia it would have been easier.

MISA try to leave BAND-MAID before/after the 2016 Sakura-con, is a mistake. MISA was thinking of leaving the band at end of 2013 and early 2014 timeframe, and BAND-MAID had their first one-man (header-liner) show in February 2014, which the manager in article referenced.

I believe I did say that. Or I didn't. That happens to me sometimes. The original comment on the music video was what sent me down this path. That's how I ended up finding the other interviews. It's what made me think about what makes this band who they are.
