- Hello everyone.. hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and are staying safe. Today I have a delicious #recipe for #polloguisado which is a Puerto Rican #chickenstew .. You’ll definitely need a nap after this one .. I hope you enjoy this easy and very flavorful recipe..It’s a family favorite
My Husband is Dominican and he always squeeze a little bit of Lemon or Lime into his Beans. I hate when people come in the comment section saying, "That's not the way you do it!" Everyone cooks differently. Keep cooking the way you do and doing it YOUR way. It's like you said, it's YOUR channel. I have dealt with a few critics in my channel as well. I don't ever use lime juice when I make pollo guisado, but her way looks dam good, I'm gonna buy some lime juice ASAP!
I like the tip about saving the half of the tomato paste in the freezer. I usually end up wasting it when i cook picadillo. and i dont cook often.

I appreciate this I love my girl but she ain’t Puerto Rican but I still need it in my life no food better than Puerto Rican food
My husband is Puerto Rican from Brooklyn and I am Irish from way out in the Midwest. We use to live near his mom and I relied on her to pass things like Sofrito and Pasteles over so I can make his food. Fast forward we live in Michigan now and the only store that sells the premade stuff and many ingredients is down state about 3 hours away. I had to order Gandules from Amazon and I do not suggest is when 24 cans is $34, but I was desperate. You cannot make yellow rice without it. Well, you can, but I don't if I can help it. That and sometimes the little ham bits. His mom made some stuff for me when she visited but now I am out, so here I am. When I saw the Sofrito video I went ahead and subscribed, plus ( no offense to any of the others) you were one of the few I could understand without having to turn the volume down. Yes, I learned quickly you like to speak in the higher volumes 😄.

Wish I could share a picture. I made your version of Sofrito then this recipe. The flavor was awesome but I need to tweak when I put the potatoes in. By the time my chicken was done the potatoes were mush even though my chicken pieces were smaller than my palm. My burner runs hot so I had it on low after I brought it to a boil.
I love your videos and hope you keep making them! And you’re right. It made the whole house smell SO delicious ♥️
Glad you tried and enjoyed it. Yes, you can add the potatoes later or maybe if you cut them into larger pieces it will take them longer to cook and you can put them in at the same time as the chicken. Potatoes are cut so small
I made this once before and I plan on making it again tonight. I made one change last time, which was to cook it in my pressure cooker and Ms Lilla said she loves short cuts.... LoL. I also brown my chicken before hand. I always feel like it seals in the seasoning 🤷🏾♀️
