I'm from a small town in Kentucky and have lived in Florida for the last 18 yr...when I was first introduced to this my mind was blown!!!! I eat this for lunch 3 times a week for probably 6 months!!! It is still my top 3 favorite that I have ever had and I'm Italian... it's soo good, soo homey and reminds me of my family cooking straight from the garden!!!! I'm soo thankful for all my experience!!!!!!

Am a Puerto Rican that never really cooked I always left it up to Mama and now that I'm an adult with kids I had to learn from myself. Thank you so much for helping this boricua learn how to cook not just this recipe but every other one.. may God continue to bless you and your family thanks again🇵🇷🤟🇵🇷

I’m taking the time to let you know how much I appreciate your cooking channel. Coming from a Hispanic and French background I’ve been exploring different cooking styles. I just made this and it was sooo good. Mi abuela Ernestina would be proud. Congratulations on your new restaurant. My next venture is your chicken soup!! Continue success.

I just started learning how to cook since I moved out by myself and I’d always shy away from stews and guisados although I love them cause I’m Hispanic... lol let me tell you, I finally decided to try making it and after watching several videos I liked this one the most and it came out amazing!!!! Thank u so much!!!!

The easiest way to cut and separate the chicken leg from the thigh is to cut along the yellow "line "that is on the front of the leg. If you look at the whole leg when it's skin side down, you"lo notice a thin line of fat that goes across it. Cut right on that line and you will separate the leg and the thigh perfectly! Great recipe!:)

Your rendition of your pollo guisado Puerto Rican style I like, very knowledgeable chef in Puerto Rican cuisine and you keep our food favorites tradition alive, thank you and I like fact you don't use adobo Goya on top of natural sofrito etc I hate to watch videos that they add adobo because it's drowning recipes for me and turn off, you are great and orgullo Boricua, DTB. :)

I follow you all the time. I've seen all of your videos. I'm Puerto Rican too, but I do some of our food a little different. I guess that also has to do with what ever past of Puerto Rico you're from. you should have your wife do a cooking video with you. you know, a family that coos together stays together lol. God bless.

marie kr hi, what I do is put the chicken in the pot with no water, then I add the sofrito, potatoes, 1 can of 8OZ tomato sauce, carrots optional, 1 bay leaf, 1 packet of sazon, salt and pepper to taste. then I add 1/2 cup of water only. the chicken will have alot of its own water. cook in low flame until Chicken is tender then raise the flame so that the sauce can thicken up. Enjoy 😉

You find capers in a skinny jar near the olives (normally) in the grocery store.
