Jimmy is the best DPF mechanic out there, but he helps us all with his in depth knowledge and experience, could he please explain to the commercial Ford technicians how DPF’s work.
I am getting and intermittent Fault on my X358 Jag. removed one of the pipes and put a cleaner through the dpf, refitted the pipe and still getting the fault. Next stop to do as you did on this one. Thanks
Hello, nice video. What should be normal dpf diference presure reading? On idle or on some rev in car? In case if sensor and lines are not clogged. How to tell if there is need to start worry about.
Love your videos and help you give in the videos I’ve been watching I’ve watching them for sometime now I have a 2006 be crafter that has had a number of issues I’ve been working on related to the DPF and it seems almost every vehicle fitted with one has issues with them at some point ! Do you think it’s time the manufacturers Do a recall on them and offer a better usable solution! To the problem Big thanks kev
Doing that, reminds me of what I used to do as Teenager nearly 60 years ago. The the baffle out of my motor bike, soak it in paraffin and then set it on fire. That burned off most of the carbon. Fi ished the job with a wire brush and central heating boiler cleaning rod.
There was dead tube (just ruined into small pieces :) ) on renault laguna III, after DPF. Replaced to another 6mm for fuel, but error still exists and see that diff. pressure is 0 or -1. Will check if not blocked tube (metal) to DPF or if sensor reacts to pressure in rubber tube from that join. The amount of ash in dpf renault canclip shows about 27grams, have to hurry up :)
Awesome video and just what I needed. I have a P2453 code on a BMW X2 X Drive 20d, do you know where the sensor is located on this vehicle? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
can you give me an idea what to check? I checked the hoses, replaced the pressure sensor to be sure is ok, seems fine, I got a value ~7mbar at idle and ~20mbar @ 3000rpm. What I dont get it, is why is regenerating if DPF is clean (I also take it out and give it a deep clean even before cleaning was not clogged and was regenerating ~ every 50 km and then reprogram as I have change it), and acc. calculation it is showed ~40% normal clogging. I is normal to regenerate often (500km interval in city conditions) even if is not clogged?
Hi Jimmy, I have an issue with my vauxhall zafria b where it keeps stalling when idle (after 10-30 seconds) and whilst slowing down to stop it will cut out unless i keep the revs up higher than 1k. I have been told its my DPF and needs replacing. Its currently at 96% saturation but when i just connected it to opcom the DPF sensor doesnt seem to be moving up very much. Could it be just blocked pipes rather than having to replace the DPF? 😮 Cheers
Hello Jimmy. If i want to replace the DPF sensor on my 2016 Passat B8 should I remove the whole DPF from the car or is it possible without removing it. Thanks in advamce
Can i have a bit of help, On live data dps presure 0.5 kpa, when car its started or runing, dpf presure its 0. All pipes checked new dpf sensor changed. Error p2002 Any advice
It’d be upstream checking pressure build up in front of the dpf. Most modern cars have a differential pressure sensor that checks before & after (as in the word differential), older simpler systems just have a pressure sensor in front.
Hi great video as always. I’ve recently changed a faulty Dpf sensor on a Tiguan. Live data shows 2 sensors (there is only 1) should the readings be the same? Cheers
Ah mate can’t remember properly. Pretty sure was a code for implausibility signal for dpf sensor. Eml was on and think in limp mode. Wiring was all good. New genuine sensor sorted it. Sorry for the vagueness 😂.
@ORileysAutos I just looked at 1 of yoir dpf pressure videos I'm wondering it it's that ? I'll check the hoses etc imc pressure mate let you know great videos
Hi, take the pipes off so sensor is at atmospheric pressure ie zero and see what it says then, if still 1 or 2 then sensor could be faulty or just needs calibration
Another billiant video. No waffle, solid explanations of the 'what' and 'why. Surely the best YT channel for DPF related issues?
Thank you
@@ORileysAutos You're welcome mate, keep up the good work 💪

Is it ever normal to have a differential pressure sensor report negative when engine is off?

Nice one. Just got a new sensor (wasn't too expensive) but if it doesn't solve it, then will run through this.

Are you testing with pressure or vacuum?
Do the same rules apply to cdpf?

Great video. By the way, what pressure side this sensor reads, upstream or downstream?

What symptoms did u have pal ?

@markraz28 ah ok buddy thank u waantvsure if u had frequent regens ty
No maté definitely wasn’t doing that. Just limp mode
Nice 1 mate your theory on to frquent regens ? Ty
Ash build up or damaged DPF
@@ORileysAutos hmmm great I'd have tho8ght I'd have more symptoms from that
@ORileysAutos you'd think if it were blocked it wouod not complete a regen ?

I wish you were local to me !!!!!
On our fiat ducato ambulances I see -1 0r -2 with ignition on not 0 does that mean a pipe blocked or starting ?
Hi, take the pipes off so sensor is at atmospheric pressure ie zero and see what it says then, if still 1 or 2 then sensor could be faulty or just needs calibration
Jimmy what would cause a forced regeneration to go no further than 20 percent ?
Is it stopping because it's saying unsuccessful?
@@ORileysAutos yes saying unsuccessful
