I have been watching these videos for a few months now and as an engineer myself, it baffles me as to why the garages can't apply basic diagnostics to repair cars. They also can't be very savvy with the software they are using. You applied basic knowledge and skill level to determine the sensor was faulty and hose split. They are obviously idiots, ripping people off or both! Great job 👍
So I've now got the problem with my merc. I had a Mechanic say the dpf is at 157 which is high. But the other day I drove it 3+ hours to burn the soot out. Later on in the night the dashboard light went off. Then came back on in the morning. No big black clouds of smoke coming from the tailpipe. But I can hear the whistling noise that the car makes when in regeneration mode. So could this be just the sensor? As I was quoted 7grand just to get everything done to it. I don't have that type of money laying around. So after my research digging I found that it might just be the sensor. As the dpf doesn't looked cracked or anything indicating that the dpf is cracked. What are your thoughts?
Hello sir! I want to ask you about the autel manometer you use ..why does it have 2 pipes to connect ? And you can connect the pipe before dpf to your autel manometer either side to your tool you want? Because i have seen that the tool has at one hose the plus symbol and on the other hose the minus symbol. I just order a similar tool other brand and thats why i ask you! Thanks in advance!
When your checking the dpf pressure sensor. Does it matter what side you have the pipe on when putting pressure ? Or can you put it on either side and you should get a reading regardless
Great Vid Jimmy, I have the Latest Launch X 431 V+ its a good tool but it also takes a while to communicate with some cars, I like your Autel and was thinking of buying the latest version or the Topdon phoenix pro.
I've just bought acitroen relay 2.2 l2h1 2016 Eml came on with a p2002 code I had a look at the pressure sensor and hoses and one of the hoses was disconnected And was reading 0 mbar I connected it up and now im getting 25mbar at idle Can you tell me what you thing this could be iv been told with them sort of reading the dpf is blocked just wanting a second opinion if you can
@@ORileysAutosthanks for getting back to me I know your a busy man so do you think my dpf is blocked with showing these readings I'm getting over 300 mbar at top rpm And 25mbar at idle
@@ORileysAutossorry for been a pain. the place I rang for a quote to get a flash clean of the dpf has advised me to do a regeneration once they have cleaned the dpf on their machine does this sound about right to and you thanks for getting back to me
@@ORileysAutos yeah, a VW Passat. It could suddenly appear on then after a few hours of driving it will disappear for a couple of months. Not sure if related, battery isn’t 100% and i sometimes get low voltage cranking.

Yes it matters you need to trace the one before the dpf

Yes.
Not exactly true. A few times my engine management light came on and then disappeared after an hour or so.
Very rare to find a car that does that.
