This is a very helpful review for many of us who are struggling to find the right harmonica without spending hundreds of dollars to discover it. Takk skal du ha.
Your not the only one, my dads The Super. Chromonica leaked like a sieve! The valves were all curld up. I played it anyway. I took it apart. I reasembled it. It still leaked like a sieve! I got tired of it. I played it without the covers with my guitar on a coat hanger. I just wish I knew how to do valves so I could have saved the darn thing.
The Meisterklasse is by all measures a better harmonica! It feels solid in the hand. One of the things that put me off about the Super 64 was that it felt fragile. Like it would break from a drop. I never drop my harmonicas, but I still feel safer with a solid build. Seydel are excellent in this matter, Hohner not so much. But the Meisterklasse is a solid build, it feels on the level of Seydel in terms of ergonomics and quality materials. The sound and response? The Meisterklasse is superior, but I bought mine from a customiser. I only asked for very basic reed work, basically a second QT. The Meisterklasse is incredibly sweet and responsive to play.
@@woelneberg great info! I’ve been playing on the super 64 for a bit and was looking for something a bit higher quality. I just put in an order for the meisterklasse chromatic and a set of diatonics. I’d been rolling the idea of upgrading from pearwood to aluminum combs for a while
Hi I had one once I sold it on just couldn't get on with it .I have a suzuki magic garden 14 hole which I love ,but it is a bit leaky and a hohner 64 performance as well as 12 hole harmonica .I tend to play 12 hole where I can then 14 if needed then the 16 hole ,I should use the 16 hole all the time which would make sense ,but there is a difference in the size and weight which is an issue .this may sound strange but I get lost less on the 16 hole than the 14 hole.mouthpieces vary on harmonica quite a lot and I think it makes a difference to some players it does to me .I have gone off any metal combs on harmonicas especially aluminum as I had a harmonica with an aluminum comb which had started to turn powdery in places and I was worried about what I was breathing in.metal bombs do need warming up well as you breath turns in to condensation quicker on metal and clogs winemakers,I have a heating pad and I usually warm up my instruments about 20 minutes before I play ,if I want to practise while I'm waiting I use my easttop forerunner valueless harmonica I wish they would make a 16 hole.I wonder how the harmonica rates in value for money comparing build quality etc to other musical instruments .

Im aware The super chromonicas can be surface sanded and so forth but i just never got around to it.
Which do you prefer? The new super 64 or the meisterklasse?

Thanks for listening. Do you also play harmonica?
Yes
I play chromatic harmonica, too. :)
