In the City 6-10 liters are possible, it depends on the traffic and where you drive. The cod works from low speed in a small gear up to 130kmh, you can really save fuel if you use it properly.
The car is amazing specially here in Finland where I live. We have a lot of roads where you can only drive 80km/h and the comsumption is really low on that speed. I think realistic city comsumption for this car is around 6l. Depends how you drive and what is the environment. You need to remember that everything is about how you drive it, this car consumption can also be something else if you don't know what "economical driving" means.
Notice Cod only works under minimum load cruising speed that's way it deactivated after 50 -60mph so what was the point of the high speed test if your using all four cylinders?
How is the new 'atkinson' 1.5 tsi vs the old 1.4 tsi in terms of driving dynamics? I have a Passat 1.4tsi 2018 model and think it's great, whent to Stockholm and back (1000 km) on one tank and averaged 5.2 l/100km.
How do you calculate the city consumption as you said 10l/100km when the computer said 7.5? 10l/100km is very heavy for a 2300lb car with stop/start and running on 2cyl/750cc most of the time. In 1975 the epa rated an 8200cc 5500lb cadillac at just over twice that - 11mpg us!
Yes.. 10l has to be a mistake.. on spritmonitor.de (like "gasmonitor", also available translated in english) VERY GOOD SITE for fuel consumptions, this engine averages at something like 6,8l city.
@@Gtaplayer325 I am driving 1.5 tsi DSG, heavy city traffic, easily 10 l, but, 7.5 is also possible with the more careful driving with a lower traffic intensity
Wait, you're saying that cilinder on demand works by closing the valves. Are you sure? That would mean that the other two cilinders would have to work to compress the air in the two closed cilinders.
yeah this is just BS. You can't just close all valves. The cylinder would hit the outlet valves and it would be an engine damage. Also, the valves aren't opened and closed electronically but with the camshaft. They are simply stopping injecting fuel in the 2 cyls.

At 200kmh you consume twice as much as at 130 kmh! But that engine is quite economic compared to cars of the eighties or nineties. An average consumption of 6-8 litres was ok for cars with petrol engines of 70-80hp. Only Diesels consumed less than 6 litres.
well the 1.5 tfsi is the successor of the 1.4 tfsi, so it should theoretically be better. But if it really is better in terms of reliability etc. i don't know.

@@kalkoeng6325 A6 has a 73L gas tank. So how is the A3 not good? lol it literally uses less diesel than the A6. simple maths. 40L = 800km - 73L = 1200km -- 40L + 50% is 60L - 800km + 50% = 1200km... the A3 can travel the same distance and still keep 13L worth of Diesel...

What is your long term fuel consumption?
Reset average fuel consumption for each speed, then show the average from the dashboard.

No, because the air inlet is closed for those 2 cylinders so there's no air to compress for them
