Hi Rhys as a specialist bud what should I be looking out for im thinking of buying a A3 (2016) CoD manual 1.4L TFSI S LINE 3D 148 BHP petrol any tips would be much appreciated thanks
@@marcvianello511did you buy in the end? If so how has it been, currently look at - 2013 s line model of one.
I’ve got 2018 2.0tfsi 190hp S Line. Love it
I have the 2008 tdi quattro, and for anyone thinking of buying, DON’T. Problem after problem with the dpf, glow plugs, engine lights, it’s been a constant headache with repairs, not knowing if I’m actually going to make it to my destination. When driving good it’s an absolute pleasure but it is certainly not worth the headaches and wallet costs
it's a 16 year old car man , any make car will give issues at that age , and the dpf affect and makes
Great video! Very informative. I was thinking about buying the 1.4 perrol preferably one with cylinder deactivation built in. I just use it on the weekends and not as a daily commuter. Would that be a good fit? Also is that engine equipped with a dry or wet clutch?
audi a3 2015 1.8t premium 125k miles has a ticking engine noise has white smoke coming from engine and exhaust mmi system works but no power to speakers any help will be appreciated 🙏🙏
Great video...thank you...Just bought a 2014 A3, 2ltr TDI, 46k, triptronic... should I be particularly worried about anything on it?

Glad to be able to help! Thanks for watching and enjoy your new car. 😁

Thanks very much for the usable info, nice! I own an A3 8P (4-2012, 218.000km/136.000ml) 1.4TFSI. Very nice and comfortable car. Chain and clutch replaced of course. Hardly noticable oil-usage.
In due course looking for an A3 8V (2018> ) or 8Y petrol with 4 cilinders! What automatic gearboxes have dry clutches?
Like I did, considering again having it chip-tuned, stage1. So much more fun for relatively little money, especiallly gained torque.
I'm in the USA and came across a 2010 A3 2.0 from a salvage garage? Love the looks of it no bumps or scratches after looking at your video I'm having second thoughts! What do you think?
2015 a3 1.2 ftsi 6speed stronic, dry or wet clutch ?
Petrol
I’m about to buy a used 2017 (Jan) Audi A3 2.0l petrol Sportback automatic Quattro TFSi 190ps. Test drive on Saturday. It’s done 40,000 mls and is generally in good order. Have just watched your A3 buyers guide and you mentioned the two types of clutch, wet/dry. Can you tell me what is on the car I’m looking at. Thanks.
Thanks! Great no-nonsense content!

hi, can you tell me if a 2018 A3 1.5 tfsi COD sportback manual petrol , has got a wet or dry clutch
Probably been answered already in the comments, but what DSG gearbox does the 1.4 TFsi have? Thinking of trading in my 2011 Polo 1.2 SEL for either a 1.4 TFSI S-Line or a 1.4 ACT Golf GT/R-Line. Not many about with the £30-£35 road tax circa 2014-2016 with low mileage. Although, could be tempted by an older TT I saw in a show room yesterday 😅
Did you find an answer for this ? I also would like to know
@@LeighBriodyit’s the 7-speed DSG AFAIK 👍
My Brother that car or golf 8 ???
Nice vid, is the A3 2015 sportback 1.4 tfsi COD 150 a dry 7 speed gearbox or wet gearbox requiring oil change? Thanks

My 1.6 TDI sport is near faultless. Other than a niggly rear wiper/washer. Any tips? Twice it’s packed in either clogged pipes/wont move.
Im thinking of buying an A3 1.8T ambition 2012 model. 3 Door. Should i buy it or not and if no why not. Thanks.
I am looking at a 2011 (Canadian) A3 with the 2.0L Turbo. It has 177,000 km. Does this configuration have a dry clutch or a wet clutch. I understand that the wet ones are less problematic? Also, how long to the timing chains typically last? Thanks
Im looking for a audi s3 with a dual clutch automatic, are they good ?
And does it have any other problems ?
Great video, do you know if the 7 Speed DSG in the 2.0 TFSI, 2017 is a wet or dry clutch? Thanks

I'm going to look at a Audi A3 Premium and BMW 320xi this evening. Both 2018 thoughts on better reliability?
Both very strong in reliability terms. Watch out for the s tronic judder in the a3 as mentioned in the video. Check the 320 idles and accelerates smooth, 2018 is right when the crank sensors were failing. Best of luck and enjoy!
Would you recommend an Audi A3 SB (2016) 1,4 TFSI Cod Ultra s-tronic?
I have bought a 1.6 diesel it has a gudder on take off 1 gear after that its smooth

Hi buying a a3 2lt tdi Quattro on sat does it have a wet or dry clutch
I don't see you mentioning the 2.0 TFSI 195bhp, it also comes with seven speed s-tronic
Found a crack in my Plastic Oil pan. Ordered an aluminum one to replace it before i start modding.
Thanks for the video, should I get a 2.0tdi over the 1.4t based on the better gearbox of the 2.0 tdi?
So long as your not only ever doing very short journeys I would yes. The 2.0 is a great engine with a very reliable gearbox.
@@ScottishCarClan thank you, I’ll be doing very short journeys as we’re living in central London. Would you completely steer clear off the 7 speed of the smaller petrol cars? Thanks in advance
@@comeonman7423 The problem with constant short journeys is the diesel particulate filter doesn't get a chance to regenerate and can clog up. I wouldn't steer clear entirely just be extra careful when buying one that theres no judder from the gearbox or you could be landed with a pricey repair!
@@ScottishCarClan ahh yeah defo I get you. Thank you so much for your help
@@ScottishCarClan what do you consider a short journey?
I was waiting for the test drive review
Hi. Great video.
I am looking buying an A3 1.4 tfsi from 2014-2016. Does the 1.4 tfsi has a version with the DSG 6 speed? I have the Golf 7 with 7 speed dsg and i hate it.
Why u hate 7speed dsg?are u from albania?
@@a.porzingis5119 the worst gearbox. The cheapest also. VW made a deal with Toyota to have this 7speed gearbox. In theory it was a good gearbox but in practice it was a nightmare.
just bought a Audi A3 1.8 2009 car. It has 93k on the clock . Do i need to get the chain belt checked ? Is their anything else that I may need to check regarding spark plugs etc?
What was it exactly that you replaced in your gearbox ? I have 2016 a3 1.8t trying to see how much it’ll cost me
Hey, so dry clutch has 7 gears and wet one has 6? right? I'm looking to but a 2.0 TFSI or 1,5 tfsi

New subscriber lad. Been wanting an A3 for the amount of distance I'm currently looking for a 2012 plate but may get a more recent model down the line. And your points sell it
Hi I’m looking at a 1.4tsfi e tron do these have a timing belt or timing chain , I am interested in buying one today
What about the 2014 Audi A3 TFSI
Hi mate just wondering would you recommend against buying a 1.8 tfsi from Japan?
1.8 tfsi tends to have the dry clutch so just watch out for it juddering in second gear coming away from junctions etc.
is the 1.4tsi dry clutch ?
I went from an Audi A4 1.4 TFSi Sport, to a Jaguar XE R-Sport AWD, and now i'm kind of bored with it. Not a patch on German cars, so I thought, i've never owned a Golf, so i'll get a Golf GTD, and it's kind of hard to get one someone has looked after, so I thought, what's the equivalent to a Golf GTD in the Audi world? I haven't answered the question, but thanks for the video :)
Reply to myself here. I got rid of the XE for a Golf R mk7.5 and it was a hoot. Bit of a ridiculous daily driver so moved it on. Looking at an A3 2.0 Tfsi now.
2013 audi a3 sportsback 1.6 tdi.

is my 2016 Audi A3 2.0T Premium dry clutch or wet clutch?

Hi I'm looking to buy a 2014 Audi A3 1.4 TFSI COD S line S Tronic convertible but I'm woundring if the turbos are build proof or not very good, are there any problems with the electric roofs I need to look out for, with the automatic gearbox in the 1.4 TFSI engine bullet proof as well and has the Audi A3 1.4 automatic gearbox convertible got a wet clutch or a dry clutch if you would now and if the turbo does go in it is it oil feed or not and would I be able to replace it or not. This is my first Audi and my first automatic car as well
I am interested in a (14/07/2014) 2015 model A3 1.4 tfsi 150hp automatic 3 door, that has done 180.000 km
Anything specific to look for out for?
This has the dry clutch right, and timing belt instead of chain?
What clutch pack does the 2.0 tfsi petrol have ?
Thank you so much from a watcher in Jamaica, and I've found mine!

Looking at a A3 TDI Sport S Tronic, 1.6lt 2014 automatic diesel today. It’s only done 7,800 miles and is cheap. Should I be worried?
Did you guys not get the 2.0t petrol engine out of the GTI for the A3?
