Another great video Chris. It's too bad Hubsan didn't put a narrow face cover on the front like they did on the 501's. I have removed the gold face plate on my H501S and the battery cover and get great air flow through the drone. I also put heat sinks on the ESC's. The drone flies great with no heat issues. Reason for doing this is I added a Walkera G-2D gimbal to my H501S which caused heat issues from the extra weight. The drone flies great with no heat issues now but flight time is down to 12-15 minutes due to the weight.
Thanks for the video Chris, il did it whitout loosing the cables, and just cut the part out, very easy job, thanks again for helping improving my ZINO ventilation
John Cuppi This would be where the air would flow out during flight so not allowing it to pass over the hottest point (wifi module) is pretty bad. It holds up but for how long for the heavy user? 👍
Is the mesh not there as a filter to stop moisture & dirt? Think it's worth doing in hot climate countrys, module gets quite warm. But here in UK we are just happy when it's not raining, sunny weather in double figures is rare occurance of late. 🌦️
Good night .. The last time I flew with my Hubsan zino, when it landed me on fire Currently calls but I can't compare it with the phone..☹️. I've done several firmware installations, but to no avail. Will it smell like burning ?? Thanks
hello, i feel like you know hubsan zino well. I bought mine a week ago, and since the first day, when I fly more or less 10 minutes my drone goes out, and crashes. Then I have to wait 5 minutes before knowing how to turn it back on. Do you have an idea of where it could come from? thanks
Hey man i need your help. I have been in touch with you before. I have almost every hubsan quad made. I just got the zino about a month ago. I was on about flight 20 yesterday and it was less then 400 feet away and it went into return to home lost connection it re connected for a second i hit cancel rth but it said cancel auto land not e Rth. I lost connection again it then wemt t Up to 100 ft n started flying away from me. I did my best to keep track of it i then followed longitude n latitude the drone was not there however it said it was still at a height of 35 ft. I have been waiting for a response from hubsan since january in regards to my 501s the my 501ss issue. Please help me. I'm really close to giving up on hubsan and its products.
@@QCGUY how to access last location. If you have a contact at hubsan? If so do you think it would be worth contacting them. I have had 5 501s quads 2 501ss i storm a jet a starx4. I have spent thousands on drones controllers fpv package batteries i feel taken advantage of. i can go on and on i dont know if i should give up on hubsan the support is non existent and with the competition now do i need over look throwing my money away with a company that does not care about my satisfaction.
Louis Elhalim you’re most likely going to find it in the surrounding area and more so in the direction in which it came so I would be looking up to 100 yards before and after the location it shows you on your coordinates. If it’s an area with trees and it’s saying it’s 35 feet up as you said then I would be looking in trees as well. I hate to say it but forgot Hubsan customer service. It doesn’t exist anymore. 👎
Thanks so much for the help man. I hate bothering you with this. However i got lucky and stumbled on the flight log on my phone. I went to the last lat and longitude and started from and like i said was over 30ft high but the area was a dessert area flat as a pancake. I circled the area over 3 hrs and it was over 210 ft away. It was safe and sound but can not believe how inaccurate it is. Anyway do you have an email i can contact you through or number i can text?
About how much room would you say there is? It’s hard to tell. I have some very light weight just a gram or so micro heat sinks with heat adhesive already applied that I have put on VTXes or FPV freestyle drones previously. Just thinking about it. Anything to get heat off the module.
I look at the Zino and see the numerous vent slots in the top plate. I then look for vents down low for cooler air to enter so the heated air to rise out the top and see only 2 slots on one side of the body. Seems like there should way more!

Very nice job
@QC Guy... should I check my Zino that I just received for this issue?
Damon Jacobs It will definitely be covered up. They all are.
Man this should not be blocked. Good information. I guess it holds up pretty well in most cases despite this but on _really_ hot days...

That EMI shielding tape and you definitely need it. Google it and you should find some good information on it.
@@QCGUY This tape is should be perfect for development of my conspiracy anti 5G Faraday Hat. Do you want to invest in my kick start program 🤑

Thanks for the info your videos are greatly appreciated

I can’t help you other then to tell you open it up and find the source.
I would check the ESC’s in the feet first...

Gary Wastiaux Not from that information alone. I would need many details but it sounds very odd to me.
Thanks for the info Chris. I think I'll do this....

Where to find it?

Louis Elhalim kitchwade@gmail.com I get a lot of emails so I’m sorry if I don’t get back to you right away.
A sharp #11 blade made short work of this without pulling the cover off.
Is there enough room to apply a thin layer of either thermal compound, or thermal adhesive to the module?
John Cuppi Yes there is and I have some but not used it with a quad.

@@JohnCuppi There's room to use it wherever you want inside. The ones they use are about what I have which is 3mm thick.
Did Hubsan Zino answer because the airway is blocked? ( SMILES )
Wouldn't it be easier to just lift the bottom .... wouldn't it be easier and faster?

David Cash Yes, I said this from the start. I fly it in very hot weather and it gets pretty hot up top so long breaks between flights.
Poor thing would freeze to death if it gets any more ventilation in Belfast 🤣🥶
That wifi module gets pretty hot so it will take to the cold really well. Gimbals aren't always a fan as you know.
QC GUY I will do it over the winter, get everything ready for next summer 👍🏻
