thx for the help! Hubsan should put you on the payroll. I learned more in an hour watching your vids than in 3 months of dealing with Hubsan. They really should improve their customer service. I really have to think about buying another Hubsan product which i probably won't because they suck in after purchase support and resolving warranty issues . Total waste of time. I had intermittent FPV then it finally failed so I took the plunge. I found a European suppler in Poland €14. Bought a few decent tools for the job and followed this video exactly. Hey presto, FPV is back working as is everything else. Took me an hour as I was as slow as I could. Thanks Chris, I couldnt even have started the job without your help.

Hey, i saw comments but have the question. My drone crashed and i have 0x2000 error. It fly. It record. But camera roll doesnt work. Camera doesnt move at start. Ive seen the cable from this video is broken a lil bit so ive moved it out and order another one.. but in the comment you say that if camera doesnt move at start you have to change the gimbal motor cable - so its the second one? But it seems like this one is fine. What should i do?

Did you crash it or do something to cause damage to the cables?
@@QCGUY Yep.. he just fall down from 10 meters after stuck on the tree. Gimbal base (this flat plastic with dampeners) was broken also but i glued it back actually (only small piece). On the app it shows angle sensor failure also. Its error 0x2000, but it record. I cant calibrate gimbal.
BUT the second cable is fine.. mechanically.

Thanks Chris. I performed this repair from this video and the gimbal is now working perfectly again. Its given me the confidence to tackle any other problems I may encounter with the ZP.

It’s pretty easy…
Go to Aliexpress and search for zino-y or zino pro gimbal cable. The cable will have a P1 on on end and P4 on another end. Aliexpress is the best at getting it correct.
I also need to change the flat zino cable as I'm going to open it. I want to change the two soon. I need help. I don't know which are the two cables of the gimbal. zino pro

I need help. I've already broken my whole head...the camera suspension does not work. camera stabilization works.
the camera is working. there is no connection with the camera stabilizer.the update for the suspension does not end.a bad connection is written on the control panel.
error 0*0000. I changed the train to the suspension, everything remained exactly the same. maybe it's a software error?
I don't know what to do.

Jayson Ricaplaza If it’s your cables that broke I wouldn’t go into the boards inside. If the connection on the board is broken you will see it from the outside and know it when you try to plug into it.

Hi Chris! After crash the the controller show me gimbal tilt error . Bu the gimbal server was working I have did horizontal calibration and after gimbal calibration. After that the gimbal death
Camilo Martins If all 3 motors on the gimbal are working then it has to be calibration with tool to fix this fault.
Do a horizontal calibration of the drone and then when you go to calibrate the gimbal with the tool it can take several try’s but most important is step 1. If one of your x y z numbers are more then -4 or +4 it’s likely to fail.
Chris thanks for the tutorial, I have a Hubsan ACE SE R version. the issue with this drone is after I updated the firmware, the gimbal started crazy going up and down so fast, hitting it self up and down and it won't stop. Yeah I know it is crazy but, may be I can send you a video. Please help!

Hi guy! Super useful video! But it's normal that the yaw motor can pop out from gimbal mount just pulling by hand? The motor shaft with the screw come out with the motor, and the rotor with magnet stay on the gimbal mount....is it normal?? I can't see anything broken on the shaft...
After you remove the screws and cover yes it will just slide off.

Corrado Galgani Yes you have to use the same one. They separate them by Zino and Zino-Y but the difference is the plug type and trying to use the wrong one can damage the pins.

max nunez If you’re certain you got the correct cable for zino-y and zino-pro and all axises aren’t working then the board is a likely bet.

max nunez The difference between the cables is the Zino-Y and Pro will say J1 or J4 on the part of the cable that hooks to the board.
well the cable I asked is the correct one for the camera and for the motors it is the HY010 PTZ Y, that would be the cable and it is the same as the one I took out of the camera.

There’s different things to confirm here but as far as the Wifi module goes you can check around but if you use Facebook it would be good to post in my group to narrow it down to the exact problem. Not easily done here. 👍
Do the ribbons listed in the description work for all the zino drones? I have a zino pro plus. Thanks so much for the videos, suffered my first tumble, need to fix it.
The image cable works for all zino models before the zino 2.
The gimbal cable is different between the original zino and the zino-y, zino pro and zino pro plus. I have other videos on how to identify what yours requires.
Thank you so much for this tuto Guy. I did it step by step successfully. Anyway since this replacement, my ZINO H117S doesn't connect anymore my remote controller in WIFI mode. Can this problem be linked with the 2 connectors that we have to unplug/plug to take off the cover ? I must say that it was the 1st open of the ZINO and that was a lot of glue on those 2 both connectors. Thanks
If it connected before you replaced the gimbal cable chances are you damaged the camera cable when you had it apart.
It’s very common for it to fail after replacing the other cable. If the camera cable is bad it will not transmit WiFi and it won’t connect.
My Zino suddenly will not connect, no recent impacts and always stored in a protective case. The LED next to the SD slot is flashing constantly too. The gimbal is still working correctly and stiff. It had been suggested that it may be the camera cable? But...as I said, no recent impacts. What would be your opinion Chris?
I have one doing the same and after finding a perfect cable I am to the point that I think the wifi module is done. I have to test voltage points on the board to be sure. Sorry

Does it try to move on startup and then stops.
Do you think what is the cause that the gimbal cable is broken ? As the first reason , a user switch on the drone with the camera cap. By the fixed gimbal, the gimbal cable receive a large electric damage. As the second cause, when the gimbal cable is setting on the camera, the cable is folded at the branch to the turn-outlet, I think. The cable is very fine. So soon the cable will be broken.
The measures are the next:
1) take off the camera cap when the drone is switched-on
2) remove the camera head-projection fixing the branch cable to the turn-outlet
Because, in cause of the projection, you need to fold the cable tightly. This is an unhappiness.

Would you know how to reset the zino pro plus aircraft system.
I installed a different version of the aircraft, I mean the Brazilian and Chinese version, and after that the aircraft does not communicate with the controller, so I need to reset its system and reinstall the firmware.
You should be able to install the correct firmware directly over the wrong on the computer. Sorry I replied late but let me know how it worked out for you. 👍🏻

What adhesive would you recommend for the connectors? I'm hesitant to leave them "un-glued" if Hubsan felt it necessary to glue the connectors. Thanks!

Hello Chris, very helpful videos there! Can you please upload the img to sensor ribbon replacement? It seems easier than this one but still not sure how it was originally connected after a crash... thank you in advance.
That one is not so simple because once in the side of the camera it rolls around a point inside and the connection is deep so it has to be taken apart. I have not had one fail yet so no videos till I do unfortunately.

Nice video Chris, I just replaced ribbon because of shakey video and error 0x2000. Gimbal sensor error failure occurred. Double checked connections, recalibrated, tried older gimbal firmware with no luck, any advice would be appreciated.

Fred L. This still tells me it’s your gimbal motor cable connections. It could be from the board or the three connections on the gimbal.
It’s a fickle setup.

Ok, it was the yaw connection, had to play with that connection, seems like it worked when it was tilted slightly forward. Took it for a flight but still shakey side to side, maybe bad yaw motor.
Hey Chris, I now have my 2nd zino with no wifi. The led for the sd card is just flashing slowly. I was more careful with this one than the first one i thought, with no crashes or anything .Is there any chance the connection is just loose and i can push on the back of the gimbal to reconnect it, or does that mean the cable connection is surely broken? Thanks for any input
Brian Silkett No wifi isn’t just one thing. It can be a number of things.
Cable connection, bad firmware installation even from production are not uncommon.
@@QCGUY I took the back cover off. It was working to fine. Looks like the foam piece was too large and it caused the connector to separate from the ribbon on this one. If I could send it to you i would be grateful . I do not have the proper tools or the light touch to do such a repair i am afraid.

Chris your tutorials are awesome. Thanks to the clarity of the operations I managed to replace the gimbal cable after my Zino pro had crashed and was damaged It is now fully back in flight and the camera works like a charm.

How can I know if my RIBBON cable is zino or zino Y (J4)
Zino Y has the J4 printed on the cable and Zino doesn’t.

Only for the Zino Y and Zino Pro.
Regular Zino uses a different cable.
